Sounds like they were not recorded at the same volume level. I would have compared the Accuphase with the MA9500. The E-5000 seems to play more forward and the MA8950 more laid back, which to me is a more realistic approach. Great brands anyway.

@@EvanZamir You can hear sound stage. Audio Excellence in Canada said the same thing. The Accuphase just spreads the the phase at extremes and tones the bass just as hard as the McIntosh. This is a retail war and the smart money is on the Accuphase for whatever reason.

Interesting comparison. It sounds like you have the volumes matched closely, which is important in a test like this. I usually pick up on subtle differences in sound quality, but I am detecting little, if any, difference, between these two. I really like the looks of the Accuphase. I have not owned either brand. I thought it pretty cool to use "So What" as the music. Thanks for the video.
Even through a $20 pair of Apple headphones, the sound was noticeably different. When going from the Accuphase to the McIntosh…the soundstage definitely collapsed a bit, sounding less expansive. The Accuphase was definitely brighter as well, so depending on what speakers you’re intending to match them up with… All in all, I thought both sounded good, but preferred the sound of the Accuphase, because one could always adjust for the treble if it go too fatiguing
Accuphase assolutamente, il Mc ha un suono tipo loudness, i medi sono particolarmente indietro e al sax manca un po' di blillantezza, provate ad ascoltarlo dal vivo e mi darete ragione, potrebbe essere anche una differenza data dai diffusori, ma questa è la mia opinione .

Through my little Audio Engine Computer Rig, I think the Accuphase sounds brighter and more extended on top, more high res, also bigger. MAC sounds way mellower, darker. Sure both sound more filled out in the room, but Trane's solo at the end sounds too bright on the Accu and closer to right on the Mac.

This is really tough as the video is well edited and sound levels are well matched. I would say that, to my ears, Accuphase has a bit fuller sound, has a bitmore mass and weight to to sound. But, again, it is a tough choice ! Well done presentatiton !!!
Exactly, making it quite easy to volume match the two pieces for the comparison. By not doing so, the comparison itself is without merit in my mind. I hear the differences that other people have alluded to, yet they only reflects the difference with the Mc being set at a lower volume, which begs the question if the Mc had been turned up equal to the Accuphase, how different would it sound from itself at the lower level and the Accuphase at the original level?
You got it. I think the same. Unless those two are matched exactly in volume, then it negates any meaningful results of the test. Only a slightly higher volume is commonly perceived as "better", but that is incorrect. @@billdunn8542
It is difficult to evaluate the sound through you tude. Both amplifiers are great. I think it's more a matter of taste. Someone prefers clarity and pressure. Someone likes the melodiousness and softness.
a prima audizione c'è una maggior udibilità sui medi e acuti dell' Accuphase, pero' la mia considerazione è che se tu ti metti ad ascoltare davanti l'impianto seduto su un divano per un'ora il McIntosh potrebbe disturbare meno l'affaticamento sull'ascolto. Sono due ottimi amplificatori comunque, li subentra il gusto personale.
The mellow aspect of MAC is artificial I find, not a representation of how live music sounds. Have you listened to Jazz in a Jazz bar? Sure doesn't sound mellow. I find Accuphase is truer to reality.
Chyba to porownanie nie jest obiektywne. Accu gra głośniej i drze sie co przy dluzszym odsluchu męczy. MC jest ustawiony ciszej i cos mi sie wydaje nie tak jak powinien. Mam ten wzmacniqcz i on nie brzmi tak jak tu. Poza tym jak te kolumny są ustawione?!
Non capisco se c'è anche una differenza di volume, e penso di si, che il Mc sia più indietro, ma l'Accuphase è più aperto sui medio-alti e gli alti. Il Sax si sente meglio sul giapponese, è più veritiero, si sente meglio anche l'asprezza dell'ancia. Però mi chiedo se tramite video, codifiche varie e cuffie per Skype, abbia un senso la mia valutazione.
sulla naturalezza del suono crrdo che ti sbagli....il Mcintosh e' leggermetne piu' veritiero, mentre l accuphase evidenzia troppo gli astremi in alto. Sono due suoni apparentemente simili, forse il Mcintosh lo si ascolta per piu' tempo e piu' volentieri

Per me Mcintosh è molto meglio in questo "ascolto" l'Accuphase mi sembra in difficoltà con questi diffusori oppure c'è qualcos'altro che non va in questa sessione.
The way the tannoy and the Accuphase are voiced is why they don't work well together for my taste. The wave guide in the tannoy and the the accuphase mid band tends to over work the delivery. I like both independently of each other and it's important to match components correctly in audio systems to create positive synergy I really like the look and sound of Accuphase amplifiers and have heard them making very engaging music with other speakers.
Con la compressione di RU-vid e l'ascolto in cuffia non è semplice giudicare, entrambi suonano molto bene. Trovo un po' fastidioso il medio-alto di Accuphase e più gradevole nel complesso il suono di McIntosh, anche se manca un po' di definizione nella gamma bassa, e forse la scena stereo è migliore nel giapponese.
Non credo sia una comparativa corretta A mio parere, andava utilizzato un lettore accuphase con ampli accuphase. Allora avremmo avuto un corretto ascolto per entrambi, così è falsato
The Accuphese sounded more open ? The McIntosh good foundation … I could get some of that Accuphese sound from the McIntosh with some different capacitors…voicing is done with parts and where they matter.
Questi video potrebbero essere interessanti se la registrazione non fosse ambientale, ma fatta dall'uscita di linea. Anche volendo farla ambientale (quando li fate con le casse ovviamente non c'è altro modo), mi chiedo che equipaggiamento state utilizzando perché la qualità mi sembra scarsa, sembrerebbe quasi un cellulare, si sentono i microfoni andare in distorsione e manca totalmente la stereofonia... eppure basterebbe poco, anche un registratorino Tascam o Zoom, una volta mi pare usavate il Tascam.

Anche qui come dal vivo preferisco il suono MC anche se sono 2 ottimi ampli il suono meno affaticante e più avanzato sul medio lo preferisco al confronto con il più frizzante AC che comunque preferisco i calesse A 👍✌️
Una cosa è certa: il suono non è all'altezza dei 13.000 euro che bisogna pagare per acquistare questi amplificatori. E dimostra ancora una volta che l'Hifi è il dominio della truffa e della soggettività.
Scusa, come fai a valutare il suono da una registrazione ambientale? Come fai a dire che non è all'altezza? Mi sembra che tu voglia solo sostenere una tua tesi, ovvero che questi dispositivi non valgono il prezzo. Cosa che può essere vera o meno, ma sicuramente non la valuti da una registrazione di questo tipo.
MD kind of blue it is not good choice. LP is not well recorded and sounds similar even on worse amps . I would never recommend this for comparison top brands of audiophile amps.

mah io ho ascoltato sia il dp 500 di accuphase e il 5101 di mark levinson e alla fine ho scelto proprio il 301 che gira in questo video....ammetto di non aver mai ascoltato il marantz pero' il 302l o trovo molto davvero un lettore molto equilibrato dal suono caldo e e dettagliato...abbinato al c53 e al 302

Nion sapendo che versione è mi riferisco a come sento io con il Sacd Mofi, che però è una delle migliori. Il suono è meno dinamico ma più naturale con il MC , Accuphase è più aperto ed esteso in alto, ma è più fastidioso. In entrambi i casi continua a mancare un po' il corpo degli strumenti. Si nota nettamente con l'ingresso del sassofono. Non so se è il microfono o yuotube.
Con 6500 euro mi porto a casa un Rotel Michi X5 S2 che onestamente sia tecnicamente che come presrazioni non ha nulla da invidiare a queste 2 blasonate marche. Personalmente io bado piu' alla sostanza che al nome. Poi fate voi.
