Hard to think that this model is not a factory made model...and that it was built by human hands and not computer driven machines.! Spectacular work you make..! truly awesome..!
Great craftsmanship! Thanks for sharing your skills. About similarities with the original 1:1 MP30/4; Alonso did not have a yellow camera on top of the airbox. A yellow camera means you are the second driver of the team, which was Button. The first driver has no sticker on it, so just a black camera. The gun metal paint looks great, but I think the actual car is just gloss black isn't it?
According to the booklet that comes with the moddel it's actualy black metallic TS40 (Tamiya). So yeah, you're right. I have am building it now, so that's why I know.
Okay Dave, what brand future floor wax are you using. I'm fixing to try that technique on some hood pins, and I'm finding Pledge. However, since it'll be on the hood would super glue be better? You know, since I'll be taking the hood on and off?
Nice looking but in my opinion to much clear coat, it looks like you put it all together then layered on the clear coat. f1 cars don't have that much shine, carbon is more satin, and the lines between parts are more distinctive.
"Artistic impression" here... and if it was welling up on the panel lines I would agree with you but all panel lines are present and not filled in. Thanks for the feedback though!
I should have been more specific, for example the front wing, nose cone, wing elements are all assembled with different finishes so when they all become one, there are multiple sheens. Not one big super shiny piece. Still not to take away it still is a beautiful piece!
David Thibodeau There are a lot of questions about the PE parts....the stuff you use isn't available in Europe. Further more; that liquid that you use....is it strong enough to hold the PE part? And does it show marks later on?
