Had no idea how many great cars he was responsible for. The P1 one of the all time greats and the pick of the Holy Trinity…beautiful lines, and looks from every angle..but that rear and the wing 😀😍

Brilliant to hear directly from the designer. Also, there is a wonderful lesson here on 'old school'. All you need is a Bic pen, a bit of paper, and spend the time working on your tradecraft.....

Hi Jodie. Well this was an education in more ways than one . I "assumed" Gordon Murray was the designer .How wrong can l be ! This was my second visit with Mr. Stephenson , thanks to you. The 675 LT is my favourite McLaren aside from the F1 - that’s what you call a good day at the office if you ask me. Ps I’m an Architect and regularly use a Bic (black of course) too!

I never liked the ‘lt’ ..in the pics it always gave me a ‘meh’ feeling….until one day I saw one in the flesh…..oh my word And that P1…in black, late at night on a motorway…is like something out of a sci-fi flick….looks like nothing else on earth 😍😍😍

I agree. Even though computers are SUPPOSE to make things easier and faster, there is nothing like doing things by hand. Drawing something out can be an emotional experience. You start with one line...continue with another....and you continue drawing it out, you get this certain sensation of satisfaction and joy. Cannot get that with a computer. Maybe with one tgat has a pen, a little.

Love this Jodie, I'm subscribed to Frank's channel, I just like listening to him. I flipping love the P1 but for me the 675 is the ultimate, mainly because it's RHD and I'll always go for that (when I win the euromillions).

For me the McLaren P1 is the most beautiful car of the 21st century and I haven't seen anything come close to beating one yet. I won't be alive at the end of this century but I feel safe when I say whatever does come it won't be better than the P1.

In my opinion the best Mclaren design so far, one that evokes the strongest desire to own one. The Senna is function over design, and misses a trick.

Swipe to open the door is a beautiful design feature and I never missed the door opening. However, cars are not in exhibition hall all the time and they get dirty, so swiping the door often meant that the key feature inside the car are wet wipes. If a car manufacturer could come with a paint lacquer that resists dust and dirt, it would be a different story.

I use a pencil as it carries more soul through the sense of touch in the same way a brush does. A Bic's lines are a bit cold.

You get the thumbs down for this with McLaren. They have ugly designs both outside and inside. and they sound damn bad. The McLaren is an overrated car.
