@@spiritwalker9903 He certainly seems to be a good father/grandfather. In saying that- I'm thinking he lives with his mom and dad (the great grand parents) I'm sure they played a big part in raising Courtney and taking care of hers. That was evident when he didnt know anything about them taking Courtney and the baby to babies 1st Dr. appt. that Thursday! If truth be known- they are probably the real heroes! Just saying.

@@enlightened1wright928 not necessarily... I mean, Courtney is a grown woman... Dad sorted her a place to stay, got her a car, paid her rent sometimes... Come on man be fair... Just because he didn't know that one thing... If you were saying he doesn't know his granddaughters date of birth, I wouldn't quite say I understand, cus he's still a present dad/grandad, but I'd be like hhmmm, but at this point your being a little harsh.... I mean, her heard word his grandchildren were basically dumped at a family members house, and he went over there and got them... Keep in mind, he said he had to load his mother up in the car because she's handicapped... So that would say to me that your wrong, he's the hero and not his parents because he obviously has to look after his mom as well... Are you listening to what's being said

Here's something that is almost as despicable and evil as Chris and Cortney taking their own child's life is the people who are commenting about the grandfather's hair and physical appearance. This man was probably one of the very few people that actually cared about the well-being of his grand-daughters and he loved them. Im certain he would've taken them in a heartbeat and they would've still been alive today if they had been placed in his care. Instead of finding fault in his physical appearance, take a long hard look at his heart and his eyes. He loved those babies and you can see the pain on his face and in his eyes when he speaks about them. God Bless this man, I hope everyone will add this man's name into your daily prayers. He needs and deserves them. 🙏

@@pinkgorilla99 I love your name. LOL. You're right, though. He has gone through Hell, without a doubt, because of the choices his daughter made.....partly due to the choices her so-called "mother" (egg donor) made in refusing to be part of Cortney's life. Tim did his damndest, but a woman needs a female role model to emulate when they become mothers themselves. Instead, Pam Hamby took the easy way out and dumped her kids off on anyone who'd have them. Tim was a responsible man......but as much as he loves his grandkids, he shouldn't have had to be shouldered with raising both Cortney and now her own child. The man should be able to enjoy and relax at this point in life. But, at least Clarissa isn't stuck in the foster care system, which can be almost as dangerous and neglectful as leaving the child with the original parents.

Being an ex addict clean and sober for 2 years and having a daughter of my own. This hurts my heart and makes me angry. I would never do that to my child. Once I found out I was pregnant I quit using drugs immediately and it's sad that even a child isn't enough to some people. My child was a good enough reason to get clean and get my life straight. I went to school for billing and coding and now working in my field to support us and going to school still for my associates. My daughter inspires me to do better and be better for her. They were bad people and a lot of people try to blame it on drugs and I don't believe it's drugs. Yes drugs make you not always act yourself but it doesn't make you into an evil monster who would hurt a child or kid. Bless you I just wanted to comment because I do have had drug issues and have years of sobriety and my daughter comes first over anything! @@hannah3146 Congratulations on your sobriety and on putting the welfare of your daughter first. Like yourself I don't think substance use disorder is the cause of adults, particularly parents, abusing let alone murdering a child. Correlation is not causation and many parents who abuse their children and/or minors in their care are not taking substances while there are many parents who (ab)use drugs but do not abuse their children. To date the common denominator with parents who abuse children has been regarded by researchers as a mix of issues including personality and sometimes mood disorders - Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD) and NPD are the most common PDs seen with abusive parents - as well as gender issues; i.e. frequently, abused children have a biological father or a stepfather who is in their late teens or twenties, is emotionally immature, and who is controlling and possessive of any partners and resents anything that takes the woman's attention away from them - and children do require a lot of attention. We see such father's who are immature, emotionally labile, and have a nasty tendency to lash out in both physically and verbally abusive ways. When a young child ends up with father like that the risk of injury if not death goes up exponentially. In such cases the mother tends to be far too focused on pleasing a male partner than she is on her child's welfare leading to her putting any children in danger by remaining with an unstable man. There are other factors that contribute to a parent harming a child but there's not enough space in a comment on RU-vid to do justice to these. It is the case though that substance use alone is not the cause of a parent abusing a child.

Giving kids whatever they want, constantly babying them, and never giving them consequences doesnt create strong, stable adults. It creates entitled brats that are going to make a mess of their life. She never felt the need to change her life bc she didn't have to. Even b4 she was arrested she refused to go to rehab to get the 2 year old back bc her dad was going to get the kid from CPS for her. You think he would've followed the rules and kept her away? No. She could've continued to do what she wanted and occasionally pop up to play mommy. Her dad had already been practically raising the 2 year old. When ever she wanted to throw a tantrum to get her way she would take the kid and dump her with another family member. She was doing the same with caliyah. The time we hear about in court was bc he took the car back bc she kept getting in trouble. She knew she could throw a tantrum and get the car back so she took the kids from her dad and dumped them with another family member. He was enabling this unstable situation bc he had to give her whatever she wanted. He didn't check in on the kids the whole time he thought they were with her. He didn't even know they weren't with her for days until someone else told him. It was over a week that he didn't know where they were or checked on them even tho he knew they were with violent, drug addicted parents. Would u go over a week not checking on your grandchild that was in that situation? I wouldnt and most grandparents wouldn't. It wasn't about the kids. It was about keeping his daughter happy. He got the 2 year old from CPS for Courtney. They didn't know she was going to be charged at the time. They thought Chris would be the only one and Courtney would get another pass. They never expected her to be held responsible for the role she played. His testimony was making sure to blame Chris for Courtney's actions.

All it was about for her was the car anyway. Family doesn't want to say it but the only reason she had gotten the kids from her dad and taken them to the cousin was bc she was throwing a tantrum over the car. Grandpa had been raising the 2 year old but Courtney would take her when she wanted to force him to give in to her the rare event he told her no about something. She started the same game with caliyah as soon as she was born. She wasn't going to tend to her kids for long tho so that's why they were dumped on the cousin. She was using the cops to stop grandpa from getting the kids bc she needed to keep the kids away until he agreed to give the car back. She knew she had to make her play that day tho so flat out asked for the car in exchange for the kids. They want to act like she wasn't trading her kids but she was. They were her lil pawns to use against people. When she finally ended up in a situation of having to care for her kids her baby ends up dead. She had only had caliyah a couple days of her life.

I dont give him much of a pass. He created her and continued to enable her while he knew she was putting the kids in a bad situation. He had the kids but gave them back to her more than once. He didn't check on the babies for over a week and didn't know they weren't with the parents. He just stayed on stand by ready to make sure Courtney was always covered and had what she wanted. He never involved CPS when Courtney would throw a tantrum and take the kids. This started long before the baby was born. She had been doing it for 2 years with the other child. Her dad would always have the child and let Courtney take her every time she wanted to throw a tantrum. He knew the situation was unstable and dangerous but he did nothing to stop her. He had both kids but willingly gave them back to her while clearly seeing she was drugged up. He got the 2 year old from CPS for Courtney. She was told to go to rehab, this was after the babys death, and they would give the 2 year old back. She refused and her dad got the 2 year old for her. Some people are so lucky but don’t realize how blessed and lucky they are and choose drugs over their babies. I would never do that, my babies have always came first and always will. If the witness is not allowed to say “they” why does the prosecutor keep using that word? There is no reason to be a jerk.
@interestsvary5014
@interestsvary5014 4 года назад
It depends on if it is clear who the person is talking about when the witness say “they”. The poor cousin was confused herself about who was factually present or who “they” was when she met with the prosecutor a few days before the trial started (as the office people told her someone else could have been present). The witness figured out AFTER her interview but before the trial she had to disregard the information from the office because she didn’t actually See that third person- as it was hearsay not fact that third person was present. However had not been able to clarify this with the prosecutor let alone on the record before the trial. So the prosecutor needed to a. Understand and b. clarify WHO was factually there as the information given previously given was different. The prosecutor was having problems doing this so the judge stepped in and did a better nicer job clearing up (by just asking for the “they” clarification) of getting fact not hearsay. This was to help the witness tell only facts so she could clean up her statements given before and not purger herself. They were trying to be nice but looked rude.

Courtney Bell has been released from prison and all charges dropped. Her father had custody of Clarissa but I’m not sure if she’s been returned to Courtney now that she’s out of jail. Hopefully with Chris in jail, she turns her life around and becomes a good mom to Clarissa, unlike her own mother was to her. It’s crazy how much chaos and toxicity just one person can create in a family (disgustingly, Courtney & Chris are first cousins) Chris was a menace and degenerate since he was 9 yrs old, having been arrested FIVE times in less than 3 months for breaking into businesses and stealing a car. He also broke into a friend’s house and stole his Xbox. He literally had 5 arrests in 3 months & finally on the 5th time he was sent to jail for 4 years. Before that he had been arrested for violent assaults on others twice before age 14. His dad and stepmom did their best, no drugs or issues that anyone knows of, but he was incorrigible.
