The man recorded on video jumping a table and charging at a Las Vegas judge, attacking her and her staff, appeared before that same judge Monday morning.
No the system didn’t fail him he failed himself. You can’t repeatedly commit violent crimes and expect to go free! And attack a Judge for doing her job!! Totally unacceptable!!
yes your right. i have major mental illnesses and controling the rage is very very hard but i go to alot of classes and hospital programs to help me. i have to take my meds or i almost dont know what im doing, but would never attack a judge and i've never hurt a female. 11 pills a day one day at a time. we all have r demons
@truthhurtz8517 come on truth. The courts are hard on people from everywhere. In the northeast it's white, lots of it, so ya we get the bad end of the stick too many times too. I'm older and I've been in so much trouble while I was the victim.. answer me why i got handcuffed arrested and court when I was assaulted?? There are no reasons why, out there good or bad, white or black. It's pretty disgusting.
you know what she means | only when "the system" comes to your doorstep. is when you will validate her statement. YOU ARE WELL AWARE OF WHAT SHE IS SAYING but you are a coward in acknowledging it . but 2024 is here for 🇺🇸America THIS is your year. #pluto2024 [that double-edged sword as already been swung] the final victim is always the originator.
Yeah, his parents failed for sure - is that his fault? Dude was born a crack baby - then was diagragnosed with schizophrenia. He was off his meds because when he got out of jail and had to wait months to get back and see the doc - how does that happen - the system not only failed him but it failed public safety. You think that the jail or a social worker would be involved to help him but nah - dude is on his own - maybe he should have made better arrangements from behind bars for when he got out, but let's face it - America does not do a great job of looking after their sick and if they don't have money - every man for themself. I'm not saying that this type of behavoir is at all acceptable - I'm just saying the deck is stacked against him. All these people doing well who preach personal responsibility forget that they were born in a loving home in a safe neighbourhood, got rides to extra cirricular activies and got help paying for their schooling - it's rare someone born as a crack baby in the hood without a dad and a mental problem suceeds - they become criminals but I'm not sure they were just born that way. America can afford to do a better job - this wouldn't happen in Canada and if it did Canadians would be upset that he was let loose without any oversight or access to his meds. It's just like you guys with guns - guns aren't a problem - it's the sick people who shoot the guns - then you realize the sick person who did it was on his own - same people who love guns and preach personal responsibility are the same people who have no interest in supporting public healthcare. They just want these people to disappear - lock them up and throw away the key. Well, I sure hope that satisfies their need for "justice" and law and order because it is the most expensive way to handle people like this. An once of prevention - treating the guy like a human instead of a monster and menance - and access to healthcare costs cents on the dollar however there is no will for it. The system worked for the people in control - piss on everyone else.
@chrisofficer4292 "all these people doing well who preach personal responsibility" The sad thing is you think it's only people "doing well" who think people should be held accountable for their actions. I came from teenage parents, a broken home, an abusive father, and spent time as a teenager in state custody. Most of my adult life has been paycheck to paycheck. I've had to make sacrifices to ensure my wife and kids had food on the table. Not once did I think "the system" had anything to do with my station in life. I've worked for everything I have, which may not be much, but it's what I've earned. Stop blaming other people for the decisions you make and their consequences. Furthermore- just getting a diagnosis of schizophrenia isn't a free pass to being a sociopath. My friend's grandfather lived well into his 80s with schizophrenia. His wife would literally tell him to "knock it off" when he started acting weird. Once you're aware of the problem, it can be managed.
lol the "system that failed him" subsidized his birth , paid for two free meals a day at school, ebt, ect there is so many NGO's and trillions wasted in tax dollars on these people they have no excuse anymore after 70 years of Johnson's "great society" @@chrisofficer4292
To the sister of the attacker I know you love your brother but please stop making excuses for your brother! He knew what he was doing because when the judge allowed him to speak, he didn’t sound like he was off his psych meds. He was calm but when the judge didn’t buy what he was saying, he got angry and wrongfully attacked her. Bottom line
@agnesmalloy7384 Nah, that's just your own subjective analysis, which has no relevance because you have zero credibility as an internet comment. Bottom line.
I'm glad they spoke up. When I saw him leap at the judge, I wondered about the WHOLE story and not just the clip of him jumping over the judge's bench. And for those ppl using the word "crackhead" as a joke, THIS is the result of someone born to a "crack" head.
@@mokahgirl5165 then they should’ve put him in a facility because that means he would do this to anyone while he’s out in the public and every time they would just say it’s not his fault
@@blackleague212Yes, it is needful, for I don’t want to be accused of cultural misappropriation. To use words to describe the speech of someone who wouldn’t use those words, would be misappropriating those words and misrepresenting their culture. It is therefore more advantageous for us all to properly represent those who are worthy of mockery.
His family enabled this type of behavior and honestly I'm not sorry for them. They used his "mental illness" as an excuse. Mental illness is NOT an excuse for violent crimes or attacking others. That is a choice.
@@letsgoooobrandonBro. Look at all the crimes he has committed. He has a battery charge, attempted murder charges, etc. should've been in prison a long time ago.
“The system failed him” What does the “system” have to do with him having multiple domestic abuse and violent felonies in his past? I guess it’s all about his “mental state” and screw the victims of his violence?
Right I mean i understand mental illness is real but this dude got common sense he know what he was doing why he just didn’t run out the court then jumping o judge she was only doing her job
Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs Abraham Maslow's pyramidal "Hierarchy of Needs" model is a highly-influential way of organizing human needs from the most "basic" to the most advanced. Maslow's argument is that the most basic needs must be met before people can move "up" to the more advanced needs.
If he is that triggered, if he needs that much mental help that he cannot live in civil society without putting his hands on someone, then all that proves is that he needs to be behind bars that is the only place for him. Freedom is a privilege, and if he didn’t want to take his medication to keep his freedom, then he really needs to be behind bars. His family failed him.
Ideally not prison how it is in this country. That will give perfectly healthy people mental health problems. He needs to be in a facility, but our justice and mental health systems and safety nets are fucked
@@vertigo2894 The few that are left are packed and basically like jail, unfortunately. It's hard to argue the system didn't fail him like it does most of us these days. Sadly, prison will likely make him much worse
I have one serious issue with something you just said freedom is it's not a privilege it is a right can you see this is why you got it mixed brother you have no right to tell another man who why he should be free or not free I'm going to believe that you're a Caucasian
That's his family. You can't fault them for hoping that isn't really who he is. And not being able to get access to adequate mental health services is a huge problem in this country, regardless if he could ever be a functioning member of society with the property help. Whether they were making excuses for him or not, i think its important to show both sides. He may not be deserving, but this is a pervasive problem in our society. Their explanation of his actions aren't unfounded, but excusing this behavior is, if that makes sense. People are so quick to make things black or white when everything's different shades of grey
@@CMStrawbridge i worked mental health for 10 years before the military in 1 of if not the poorest states in the US. there are always options. it's a huge and lucrative business, so i have *ZERO* doubt there are places in LV he could have gone to.
@@edward74alwayz89Nah. They really should have kept him in prison.. Prison AND his parents should've taught him you that you're not supposed to kill people. This is what happens when you do crack and have children. His parents ruined his life.

I understand a family wanting to help someone, however you aren't helping them if you make excuses..do what you can to help them and get them the meds they need or they should have to pay for their crimes. They didn't just pick him up for no reason. Why was he in court in the first place.
Mental illness, always mental illness. So what do we do,let him out to beat the crap out of someone else? Not expecting to go back to prison? Then what were they expecting?
He was in jail for attempted assualt but the former president out on bail 91 charges including mutiple felonies. The police suppose to be in the court room to serve and protect. There is no way the police in the court to allow him to get that close to the judge. What about his mental capacity to. In my opinion, it looks like it was designed
He’s a 3 time felon, how many chances does he and his family think he should get? Enough is enough! Maybe this prison term will make him change his criminal behavior. A lot of people have mental illness, but don’t commit felonies and try to play the victim when they get caught.
He was out on parole without incident. That's why he went off. When have you ever heard of judges just arbitrarily sending people back to prison while on parole without incident?? Fuch all you self righteous MFs...
Deobra Redden’ IS going to kill someone. Damn, his mental illness. He is responsible for his actions. He should get a maximum of 10 years for both assaults consecutively on a protected person. He needs to be in prison for twenty years.
@@spiewajit4ncz This does not apply to Redden. He knows the difference between right and wrong. Deobra Redden has angry and behavioral issue and refuse to learn coping mechanism skills. If he is ever release he is going to kill someone. He needs to stay behind bars.
His sister needs to stop enabling and making excuses for him. I absolutely believe her on everything she says expect the fact that she makes excuses for his behavior. He chose not to take his psychiatric medication and he decided not to follow up with care once he got out of jail. He could have gone to the hospital and gotten put back on it immediately until he could follow up outpatient.
His family failed him first… mentally incompetent ppl do not belong on the streets-AT ALL!! This guy’s relative is the type that will excuse deplorable behavior-even against other family members!! I’m sick of these ppl! He belongs in prison or a mental health facility
Ok, Sister. Let's try this. Can you please tell us what triggered your brother to commit the crimes (Robberies, violence) that led to the charges that carry prison time with them in the first place?
Knew enough to plead for leniency, knew enough to sign for a new lease and job. Only part of the system that failed was him getting out the first time.
The family has to understand that if anyone has a mental issue like that and is put in the public, no matter what anyone says the public is in danger, he is a grown man able to make decisions and his decisions all of his life were in favor of committing crimes, minor and major. So to the family please understand that this person should not be free in public and if so needs to be monitored by the government until he is at least 70 years old.
If he’s actually schizophrenic and not getting his meds then that’s a pretty valid explanation for his actions. Mental illness is a very real thing and sadly it’s behind a lot of violent crime.
THANK YOU. most criminals lack resources, including mental health. And his family would be responsible because schizos don't have a sense of their mental illness. For them it's always somebody else's fault. I hate these kinds of people, who bear no responsibility.
Uh no not isn't schizo but thanks for showing us you have no clue about it. And yes mental illness does exist and this guy has shown that he does not have a mental illness nor does the vast majority of mental illness nor mental illness patients resort to violence.
Agreed. I went to court and ninety mine percent of the alleged criminals had visible mental health issues. Some were required to get health evals. Others weren't. It's really sad.
Being crazy, depressed, bipolar etc doesn't change the results of the criminal behavior that the perpetrator has done. If you robbed, hurt, or killed someone, it cant be undone just because you say well i was depressed that day.
They have him bound up like Hannibal Lecter. You can tell he's not right in the head. The sister says he's been off his meds since November. Nobody could get him to a doctor to get a prescription?
Every crime since Cain killed Abel can be blamed on mental illness. People are fundamentally evil and the mental health institutions won't change that.

What I gathered is that she did not prolong the sentence. She never got to sentence him last time so she only continued where she left off. Now if she want to add charges that is up to her, which I think anyone should.

I think people know the influence of psychiatric illness on a criminal's mind. They just pick and choose which individual to let "slide". This is just an observation.
I believe it is a mental illness here. I’m sorry this happened. However, that not forget the Judge… She needs to choose her words carefully. It could be worst.
The system doesn’t know how to deal with mentally disabled individuals that’s a fact, so his reaction is understandable. He was born with crack cocaine in his system, which means his mother was a drug addict.
