I don't understand how confessing to driving at 125mph on the wrong side of the road isn't considered a danger to himself and others. @Poizon-

I think it's because he didn't confess to them. From the police's point of view it was just a rumour that had no evidence to it. Having been in simular situations myself I actually understand why the police didn't want to speak with him, in most cases getting the police involved in such scenarios just escelates the situation further, I've seen that exact thing happen with a friend of mine who was also in a bad way. I feel the victim family lawsuit involving the family of Trevor is probably because of procedures and the only way to get some compensation out of it. The wild one in my opinion is the State against Trevor's parents, is inane having actual footage and evidence that show the neighbor and their parents tried many times to keep Trevor on check and asked help of the police that refused to act and take it seriously, is basically trying to absolve the police department of wrong doing and pin all fault into Trevor's family.

It's so important to check in on your friends and make the effort to connect with them on a deeper level. I used to play games regularly with McSkillet, Juicy, and Kryoz, and back then, everything seemed perfectly normal-nothing felt off. McSkillet was genuinely one of the kindest people you could ever meet or talk to, which makes what happened even more difficult to comprehend. It's a tragic reminder that we can never fully know what someone might be going through. Thanks for sharing this information with the community Sparkles or Ed, it's definitely good to hear more about it. and perhaps we can uncover more about the reasoning behind his mental state to bring awareness to it.

I grew up watching McSkillet and he seemed like a solid dude who just needed help badly.. Watching that body cam footage is so frustrating because you can clearly tell how much his parents want him to get help and treated but the police just won't even do the bare minimum. Sad situation
@HeyPhantom4
@HeyPhantom4 Месяц назад
the point the cop says he doesn't want to start something physical with the kid and have 10 other cops show up, is something to go after. as you said the bare minimum, the cops made up their minds that they didn't want to help and this shouldn't be their problem. in hindsight it all seems so easy to solve from that situation though. if only the cops did just go to his room, ruffle some feathers and have him arrested, while in custody they would've have him eventually seen by some sort of mental professional and one thing leads to another of him getting help. But ya to sum it all up, the cops were almost at their wits end in that situation.

This video really touched me. I lost a friend, basically 2, at 17 due to reckless driving. Although, my friend was not manic. There was no reason for his behavior, he was just a young dumb teenager who had fun driving fast. I was supposed to be in the car with him that day. Me and 2 buddies planned to go to a lake/dam to hike and have a good day. I woke up late, they had left my street 15 minutes before I woke up. The passenger in the car was my friend that is my next door neighbor I've known since I was 4 years old. He told me they had already driven to far, and couldn't turn around to come get me. I often think about those extra 15 minutes of sleep. About 2 hours later, my father came home from work and opened my door while I was doing math homework. He asked me if I knew so and so's name, I said yes. My father was a California Highway patrol officer. He told me, "so and so is dead, he lost control of his car going 130mph on the shoulder on the 65 and crashed into the exit sign, looking like a double fatal but the passenger is unrecognizable from his injuries". The crash was originally being reported over the highway patrol comms as a double fatal. My dads partner was the one working the scene, transporting my neighbor into the ambulance that ultimately saved his life. The driver died and was decapitated on impact. My neighbor in the passenger seat, was the only seat in the car that had a chance at survival due to how the car was launched into the pole after taking out near 300 feet of guard rail. So if I was there that day, I'd be dead, or my neighbor would be dead. Who knows what seat who would've been in. He was so messed up from the crash, and all of his belongings being ejected and lost on impact. He was a John Doe. I was the only person capable of explaining how I knew it was him. I had to go to the hospital and ID him for the police and was the one who had to go tell his family that their son was in a coma in critical condition. That was one of the hardest days of my life. My neighbor broke just about everything in his body, was scalped, had to get it re-stitched on in surgery, and spent 3 months in a coma and 8 in a rehab facility. He's physically full recovered, walks fine like it never happened. But mentally he's never been the same, it reset his mental capacity to that of a child in elementary school. Speeding isn't cool, speeding gets people killed.

He stayed true to that word, he never drove like that when I was with him again. The problem is that something always needs to happen, before action is taken. Happened to friends of me, and myself, too. A friend of mine was harassed, molested and threatened online, went to the police, nothing happened. I was very suicidal and went to a clinical therapist, who worked at a psychiatric facility. He didn't listen to me at all, I had to repeat things I just told him. When the session was over, he told me how worried he was about my safety on my way home, even diagnosed me with severe depression, and then did NOTHING. Absolutely nothing, even though he was well aware that I needed to take a train home, and that there was a very busy road on the way to the train station. I am so glad that I didn't throw myself in front of a train or car. Wasn't far away from doing that, especially after such a disappointing therapy session. Two years ago, my friend took her own life, after being harassed, molested, and threatened online, after she went to the police with it and exposed the people who had harassed her, but the police did NOTHING, and it kept happening, to the point where she couldn't take it anymore, and on June 14th, 2022, took her own life. She deserved so much better than this, and was one of the few genuine friends who actually cared.

One of my best friends is chronically maniac. He is one of the smartest and good hearted people in the world. Everytime he gets a maniac episode I fear for his life. Common sense doesn´t exist when somebody is having a manic episode. He once jumped down a dam (which should have definitly killed him) because the swirls in the water were matching his shirt. It usually takes months of very heavy medication to bring his mind back to where it was but I always try to show him, that I dont like him less when he is on hard medication and therefor talking and thinking slow. If McSkillet had an episode, the police would have registered that right away if only they would have gone and talked to him... I think that the police werent in the wrong individually. In my opinion psychological behaviours like that should be looked at way more intensely during police training, so that officers have a better view on what might be going on. So sad to hear the true story but also thankful for you to share this Sparkles! Hope that the families and friends are doing as well as they can...

Trevor needed to be diagnosed or at least evaluated by a professional who says he DOES in fact suffer from a mental health disorder. then whatever trevor tells that person can be used as justification for the 5150. simply having a neighbor give their opinion unfortunately doesnt hold up if trevor decided to sue the state for violating his rights. being involuntarily committed to a mental facility is a HUGE deal and isnt to be taken lightly, that's why there are criteria that need to be met (as stated by the cop on scene with trevor's parents). the cops DID NOT "refuse to help", they told the parents what needed to happen for them to essentially arrest their son for having a manic episode. what if a bunch of people around you gaslit you into thinking you were crazy then threw you in mental health jail? thats why he needed a PROFESSIONAL evaluation and a mental illness DIAGNOSIS for the police to commit him. anyone who says the police were useless have NO IDEA how big of a deal a 5150 is, including you

I have to say, this video is good for clearing up the big idea that "McSkillet unalived himself and 2 people because his inventory got trade banned" but I just hope people understand that Trevor was still an adult, a young one at that, but 18. He knew he was having mental issues, but he never chose to get help for his problem. I don't know if most people can forgive him for murdering a kid and their mom despite the clarification. The lesson being if you recognize yourself going down any kinda dark path, you need to get help, you may think your fine but if everyone you love and know is asking you to help yourself, you need to do it. To me, this is another cautionary tale of someone ignoring their mental health until they broke, and tragically took people with them. RIP to everyone involved, can't get over that kid was so young.

@Hqzza
@Hqzza Месяц назад
Im going to give my 2 Cents here about this topic. Men in General are extremely susceptible to mental health disorders between 17-20. McSkillet from a late teen was in some HEAVY and HIGH stress situations with money he was earning Millions, Juggling drama, Bans, Scrutiny and overall limelight public opinions. From his old videos he seemed extremely calm and pretty level headed for a late teen doing what he was doing but as the male brain progresses and develops if you are going through high stress situations you can induce Schizo/Manic behaviors as I myself from the age of 17-19 Had a serious mental health decline and was pretty much bat shit crazy driving my cars fast thinking i was essentially invincible and ironically this whole Brain thing with men around that age is why the U.S and the UK and many other countires recruit young men to go fight because they have a lack of understanding about death it doesnt really compute with the young brain of a male so they are more likely to go BATSHIT in any situation putting them close to death because it doesnt scare them. McSkillet was unwell BUT it wasnt a slow progressive like something he had dealt with for years this was Sudden and a Rapid increase in Manic behavior and that in itself is the most dangerous part about being a young Male because the flood of hormones and new emotions literally and figuratively shut down who you once were and take over a shadow form of yourself and you do stupid shit that the normal version of themselves wouldnt even consider to be an option... Unfortunately this case is a sad one because we all knew Trevor but its a sad and highly common case among-st young men and its not something people really talk about. Family gets harder because you alienate yourself, Work gets insufferable because you are losing your mind and want to literally go to war with everyone 24/7. And girlfriends/boyfriends (If you are gay etc) Become challenging because of the fact the brain is changing you can very easily scare away anyone that cares for you because of how much of a danger to society you could and or CAN be. The world is too pressurized for young people now to compete with the elders to survive it is too competitive for someone at a young age to try and grasp. unless you have help it can get extremely daunting and turn someone into a mental case because its too much to handle for a young developing mind. God save the young Men. God save the young Women.

Do you not hear what the police are saying? The things he had done didn't meet the criteria for detaining him, and on top of that, they never witnessed any of the infractions he committed. If they arrest or detain him based on things that they don't have evidence for, they're gonna get sued and probably lose. Hindsight is 20/20 so it's easy to say they should've done more, but they didn't know what he would go on to do. They did their job without breaking the law, thats what they're supposed to do.

@@mcspike5003 Yeah - I see the LAW part of it, but I dont like the attitude that something must happen first before police can interact and I hope that will change one day. I think we need preventive action in a lot of cases

@@csgoM1LLER But you said you hope they lost their job? Would you rather the police are willing to stomp on civil rights and make an arrest with no warrant or probable cause?

lmao what if your dad calls police tomorrow and says that you went crazy because you said “fuck you i will kill you” in your room while you were actually playing cs? should they be able to detain you for 72h? the police has nothing to work with, there was no evidence of practically anything, even the speeding thing there’s no proof and for all they know it could’ve been a joke. they had no business doing anything, im actually surprised to how polite they were and how they explained everything in such a good manner

Skillet was only 2 years older than me. I looked up to him as I was at the age where I wanted to be a content Creator and seeing someone so close to my age succeed told me it was possible. The news of his passing all those years ago hit me like a freight train and haunted me. It made me realize not everyone is built for this, their psyche just breaks under the pressure. Its a big part as to why I stopped pursuing content creation. I wish he was still around and got the help he desperately needed so all those innocent lives and his own could still be here. Hard to think its been 6 years.

Man, I remember hearing about this, he was one of my favorite creators at the time. It’s so sad to lose such a great soul so early. Prayers to his family, I know there are still so many unanswered questions they have.

Thank you for this short film. Im glad someone finally explained to people what happened. After his death I felt very bad, cuz i knew he couldnt do such a thing (driving on the wrong side of a highway) because he was such a good and clever guy. I was following him since his first upload and his vids were very fresh and relaxing. I never jumped on the train of calling him a murder or defending him, I just knew we lost a real one that day R.I.P.

Seeing the footage, and also having watched Trevor's videos, it's heartbreaking to see the moments that went down before the crash. He needed serious help. his family knew it, yet when raising the alarms, they got ignored.

It is sad. Mental health is the most important thing to people's decisions. If all of us have problems with mental health we need to talk, we need specialists to help us. I hope everybody will be good and healthy to enjoy this journey of life. Be safe guys. Love you all
