I hope everyone has been keeping well. It's been a while since I continued posting about my first year at UBC med. I have been busy with our last class FLEX and hopefully will post more once I am done.
Anyway, you're probably wondering what Camp Make Friends is. Well, it's pretty self-explanatory lol - go camp and hopefully make friends with everyone! From what I know I believe Camp Make Friends is the end highlight of the UBC med first-year orientation led by the students. It usually takes place over the Labour Day weekend at typically Camp Potlatch (well for VFMP, every site does its own version) near Anvil Island (gorgeous gorgeous area!), and for us included activities like hiking, beach relaxation, paddle-boarding, canoeing, and more. There's also a talent show where this year we had yoga demonstrations and lots of fun singing. More details on packing, accommodations, and payment would come from the year 2 president whatever year you are in if restrictions allow at the time. We were fortunate as a class to be the first to go again after the COVID hiatus.
