Mr. Hondo 500E god Bless you, one of these days, if I ever hit the lotto, I will purchase a property like yours, to be available to own a aircraft like that one and flight to havens, thanks, and god bless. respectfully; Andy
Hey Andy, Thank you for commenting! Sadly it’s not my land or my helicopter. They belong to a mentor of mine. I’d love to be able to live like this too.
As you know I love these Hughes 500 / MD500's. Is this a Kawasaki-Hughes 369HS Built under license by Kawasaki Heavy Industries in Japan ? if so really cool somethin different👍😎
I believe it’s the the 369H model. It has the C18 rolls Royce engine. I’ll check the aircrafts flight manual next time I’m near it and I’ll let you know. Thank you for watching!
Yeah it’s pretty rare to see. An old company called “Yennert” would complete the STC conversion. This new nose also eliminates the horizontal bar that goes across the entire wind shield. I’ve also seen this nose on the D model and in some cases even the E model. Thanks for watching!
Hahaha. It sort of is. It’s a 500C but the previous owner found a company that’ll install the E model nose. It’s a cool looking machine and it flies great! Thank you for watching.
Its also 6 knots slower now.. The round nose has been proven to be faster. That's Why the Army insisted to keep the noses round on the MH-6 little bird. Which is a 530F.
@@hondo500eyep, one thing i definitely noticed when flying a D model and then the E and F. The cruise speed on the older Hughes models were so much faster? then again the D and C models had an empty weight of about 300lbs lighter, which makes a significant difference also.
There is no such thing as a "MD500C" this is a Hughes 369/500c that has been converted to E nose/front end! McDonnell Douglas took over Hughes helicopters in around 1976, the Hughes 500D was then called the MD500D & same for the E model which came in 87? The 500C was manufactured Prior to the MD takeover so they are only ever a H500C!
