I feel sad for JC. I mean... he was ready to die for WWX, he didn’t know that he had WWX core and hated him for 16 years but later he found out the truth and that he was partly to blame for WWX taking the wrong path which also means that he was partly to be blamed for all the deaths caused by WWX including his sister and his brother in law. He dint know all this before and almost killed WWX. But after that he was left alone without his parents, his siblings and even the people who trained in his clan before the massacre. He only had Jin Ling so, he spoiled him. And even when he reunited with his brother after so long he didn’t have the face to say “Even I lost my core for you!” or “I missed you” as he showed that he hated WWX (even though he still cared for him and it was obvious that he did)and didn’t treat him well after came back. So...he was left alone with Jin Ling again. And all this because of wen clan and Jin GuangYao. It’s sad that he had to go through all this for nothing 😢

I feel like this song is sort of like WWX and JC’s wake up call or something. They both sort of lost themselves after everything they both went through, including the reminder and fact that blood related or not, they’re both brothers. Driven by the grief of their losses they both forgot this fact, acting out on their own pain. In the novel they both did end up reconciling with each other but it was still pretty awkward between them, which breaks my heart even more. It’s sad when you get betrayed by someone, but it’s even sadder when the reason for the betraying and bloodshed between two people is because they forget who they are to each other, and where the love really lies. JC even said to WWX when he visited him in the burial mounds(I saw this in the donghua version) that he doesn’t want WWX to do demonic arts because he won’t be able to protect him, caring about WWX and not anything else. Remember who you are to people and remember who those people are to you, everyone. I guess this is why I feel so emotional towards the song and WWX and JC’s relationship, since I sort of relate to it (I have severe family issues but who’s asking lmao).
