I arrive by ship in Tripoli in Lebanon, and it takes me several hours to retrieve my passport with a stamp on it. After waiting more than 4 hours, I can finally enter the country, and I walk around the chaotic streets of Tripoli.

Tripoli, the forgotten historical heart of Lebanon, long amazing history, very friendly people, smiling despite the current circumstances. Old narrow-street markets, rich islamic monuments. I adore this city. Visiting soon in 3 weeks. I wonder why he kept saying "where can I find food?" Come on man, you can find food places every inch in the city, so cheap, so delicious, and have lovely chats with locals. :)

I just found your channel. What a unique way to enter Lebanon by sneaking inside a cabin on a ship. The sea view was so beautiful. Tripoli is known to be the poorest city on the Mediterrean coast, although there are 2 Lebanese billionaires that come from this city. You can easily talk in French in Lebanon and people would understand.

It looks like Tripoli recycles metals and ship it through their port. It is extremely dangerous to have a low riding vehicle like a tricycle between all these big trucks as they most likely not see you and sometimes they will back into you. Please be careful!

Be blessed brother, great video. I live in India but I was born in this very city))) and I really like how you jumped into it. Few things to clear out: you weren't cheated with the beetroot you just bought your falafel from the industrial area which happens to be the cheapest for street foods and such, it's the are for car mechanics and the like sort of businesses, if you just moved in the opposite direction from the downtown, Tripoli is place most renowned for food and sweets in Lebanon, and in turn the middle East. Good luck with your travels, the channel, and all that you do. 🔱

He went to the poor and most authentic area with the best mannered and generous people. Those still retain the authentic habits which are priceless. However if he wanted to meet people who apeak Italian French Spanish Arabic and English and present themselves as the richest people on earth with so much western influence and disgusting sexual pollution contrary to Islamic values he would probably need to go somewhere else like Beirut or elsewhere. He can easily attend beach parties and underground night clubs that never go to sleep. I dont think as a westerner you want to travel to the mideast to see that kind of filth and the lost identity face of the country.

My God how the mighty have fallen!! That’s a huge dive in-terms of purchasing power parity too, as hyperinflation diminishes the value of a given currency, but also makes everything more expensive, and beyond the reach of your average Joe. It’s fascinating and extremely disturbing, how a 10-20% of the population still continues to live, only slightly scathed by it all. Whilst the overwhelming majority stagnates and sinks deeper into poverty. I’m amazed how a 1789-like storming of the Bastille hasn’t occurred so far. You would think that the heads of the Lebanese oligarchy and aristocracy would be guillotined by now. I guess they’re so entrenched, and have managed to divide & conquer the various segments of society for their own benefit, making the majority unable to break free from the shackles that keep them down.
@KinoYves
@KinoYves 2 года назад
@@khalidalali186 yes, it's true that it's weird that people didn't get rid of the government. Probably because they are too scared that the civil war would resume if they do so. They had a civil war from 1975 to 1990, roughly, and the actual is kind of the only way they found to stop this civil war.
