"Me & Miss Moon"
Once upon a time there was miss moon,
so caught up in her room,
the puppet in her play
in getting thin, in getting fat,
in circling round the earth, in circling round the earth,
day after day.
She asked the sun for holiday,
to leave the well-known-way.
She packed her bag, put on a hat,
switched off her light and turned to night.
For now she was a blind spot, now she was a blind spot
among many others there.
A satellite replaced her job
and ruled the night from now.
Was getting thin, and getting fat
was putting on and pushing off.
He sometimes overdid it, he overdid it sometimes with the tidal waves.
Miss Moon looked down and not looked back
and started rolling down.
She started rolling towards earth
to face the facts and finlly see
what she’d been circling round, what she’d been circling round all of her life.
She saw the blooms on many branches
and she saw withered leaves on muddy ground.
saw rosy cheeks and wrinkled old hands.
and she watched lovers kissing and their facemasks lying in the dust.
She kept rolling on
in the dawn
and saw a car in the woods.
There she settled down, fell asleep.
Even Miss Moon sleeps from time to time.
There suddenly was a light
she felt fright.
and someone near around.
The same with me in the hut.
I saw a light
directly out of the old wrecked car.
I was afraid of beeing watched
and Missy Moon just felt the same.
In Hut and Car we both now sat.
couldn’t move, couldn’t soothe
were paralysed by the bright light of night.
You need to know, that Elves can’t sleep when fear’s around
So Mother Elf got up and flew to our ground.
Where we just sat in house and car, so full of fear.
and she just whispered to the both of us those words:
You saw the blooms on many branches
and you saw withered leaves on muddy ground.
saw rosy cheeks and wrinkled old hands.
and you watched lovers kissing and their facemasks lying in the dust.
As they looked up they saw the moon,
- they saw the temporary moon
he overdid with the glow
and light reflected in the wreck
And frightened both of us, Miss Moon inside the car, and me inside my home.
As Temporary Moon moved on,
the bright light faded out
and in its shade Miss Moon and me, we looked into our eyes
We shook our hands and said: „Hello my friend, what’s up?“ and we started to dance….
And so we see the blooms on branches
and we see withered leaves on muddy ground.
see rosy cheeks and wrinkled old hands.
and we watch lovers kissing...
This is our world in all it’s beauty,
in all it’s sadness and it’s circles and it’s never ending life.
But don’t forget to see inside it
if you need fear to disappear there is a way: „...sometimes just look up...“
And so they live happily ever after.
