📲 Our Pick Up Limes app is finally here (1-week free trial!): bit.ly/PUL_app 🎉 No mason jars? No problem! Layering these in food storage containers works just the same 😊 Which jar would you want to try first? 1, 2, or 3? ✨
Just a Korean passing by. FYI, KIMCHI IS TRADITIONALLY NOT VEGAN. It has seafood in it (usually fish sauce and shrimp, oyster, etc). So before you purchase any, make sure to check if the kimchi you're purchasing is vegan! Thank you so much for the recipe. I'm totally trying this recipe!
She definitely doesn't use the traditional kimchi that I buy and see in Asian stores, I think she made sure to buy a fully vegan version but let's wait for her reply!
We are in our 80's, plant-based, and feeling BETTER THAN EVER! We are all about healthy aging and appreciate this excellent video and your many others!
The calmness on the toxic Internet world is Pick Up Limes ! Its just like meditation...no matter which topic Sadia chooses, she makes sure we all r relaxed when the video ends. BTW I dont want ur video's to end. Please do upload more vlogs & your workout routines. Love from India❤
Omg,I too feel the exact same way, I kinda get like{Darn it - she is almost bout 2say it.} Blah blah blah Signing off.....(I hate hearing that phrase, cause I never want her to sign OFF.).Love you like a fat girl likes Cake...!!!!!!!!! Makin me wish I were on that side of the POND...xoxo All the way from over here in the USA San Francisco,California.2be exact..Love u Sadia..Stay Safe&Healthy..
pro tip: wrap your tofu in a cloth and put something heavy like a pan on top of it for about 15 minutes to press out extra liquid and make your tofu crispy
And FREEZE it! That makes its structure extra spongy, it loses even more liquid and will soak up any marinade you toss over it... (of course you need to defrost it again before using it... I always have a batch in the freezer.)
These types of videos are such a blessing to me! I am new to the plant-based life and your videos, in particular, really make me excited to eat LOL. Heck, they actually make me excited to prepare food which I’m not always the most thrilled about. So thank you!
Who else has been obsessed on her content lately? She motivated me to be healthy and get my life together.. She is honestly such an inspiration ♥️ (made me start my channel and make videos✨)
Sadia's video's are excellent and entertaining. Excellent ideas for a vegan lifestyle. I have started up my own channel focusing on growing your own plant foods and other aspects of gardening.
School starts again tomorrow and I'm hopeless because it's the first time having school from 8 to 6 for many days in a row and I dont know how to pack enough food....thank you so much 😅😊
All the best with your studies! 🤗 hopefully some of these recipes are some ideas of things you might be able to take. Otherwise, simple is best. I always used to take hummus sandwiches with some veggies on the side, then I'd add it when ready to eat so the bread wouldn't get soggy. Or leftover stir-fry - always an easy/fast one 😛
When I was in university, our cafeteria was really bad so I didn't want to eat their food. I had like 6-7 salads on my rota, or sandwiches as Sadia suggested. Leftover pasta dishes make great "pasta salads". Or look out for fingerfood that's easily transportable. Veggie muffins. Wraps. Check Sadias school/work lunch videos! Good luck with school!
Vegan meals would definitely be the way to go if you are at school and don't have access to a fridge. I would recommend containers more like this if you're going to be stuck eating at school, they're the ones I bought for my husband's work lunches and they're super great imo. Do NOT put the plastic lids in the bottom rack of your dishwasher, you can put the cutlery on the bottom with other utensils and the glass bottoms, but not the lids.. They will melt a little. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07V7GYC53/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I was so excited to find kimchi and Korean inspired dishes! I am Korean American, and whenever I see vegan korean food, I get super excited, even though I am not a vegan~~ thank you for sharing these recipes Sadia!!!
Thanks so much! My daughter and I have been binge watching and we're loving your channel so much. It's been so good for her (she's 9) as it's inspired her to eat better because you make it look so good. After saying for the last 5 years that she hates bananas, she suggested I slice some up for her and add some strawberries, so she could eat like you do. THANK YOU lol. These recipes are super good for us because we spend a lot of time traveling in our tiny trailer - and pre-prepping vegan meals means we'll have all the food we need in our cooler to keep us happy and energized for hikes. LOVE LOVE LOVE your presentation, film, colors, and of course food. Big hugs from us :-). Holly, Clive and Thorn
Dear Sadia, First, thank you for these recipes. You’ve helped me and my family go vegan and we rely on your creativity to eat healthy and delicious meals. Second, what kind of pots and pans do you use in this video? Thanks! 🙏😊
So glad to hear it, Penny, thank you! The pans are by a company called Ambition and we ordered it online from a company in the UK called Dajar - hope this helps 😊
I'm Turkish and I definitely recommend everyone to try bulgar salad, it is perfectly delicious. We call it "kısır" and it is not necessarily prepeared in a jar, but I think this version is quite good too. Thank you for this great video and recipies :)))
kısır is usually made with couscous though. What she’s done in the video is pretty similar to the original dish but a little bit changed which is totally fine because it looks nice too. We actually call this bulgur pilav (“bulgur rice”)
why not just layer in containers you already have. Then no need to transfer when ready to eat? I really wonder what the benefit of using a jar is because so many people are doing this now. Does it keep more fresh?
@@tuh1cax my guess is that it keeps it fresh. When you have them layered like that, the soggy parts don't touch everything. The things that supposed to stay crunchy, actually stays crunchy. You can't really layer them in containers. Everything will just sit side by side in containers and make it go soggy faster.
@tuh1cax She said at the end that jars aren't necessary and you can use whatever containers you have to do the layering. She said the jars just look pretty in the fridge.
@@tuh1cax i feel like that way its a little easier to handle. You just grab the jar and dumb it on a plate! 😂 But its really just convenience and aesthetic.
I was actually super impressed with that first meal! Typically when people have a meal that's Korean inspired, the only thing that's legitimate is the kimchi but you actually really did have lots of Korean flavors! In fact, if you take out the edamame and sub rice for the noodles, you've basically got bibimbap! Awesome to see.
I know this is an amazing foodie channel, but I would LOVE to see a video about your wardrobe. Your clothes are minimal and beautiful and I want to know how/where you shop!
I just made the kimchi noodle jar and it is absolutely delicious. It has a lot of flavor and different textures. It is also very filling. Also loved that the entire meal only used 1/4 teaspoon of salt across 4 servings. Highly recommend :)
I grew up eating bulgar. Most of the times my grandma instead of rice makes something like a bulgar-pilaf. She uses 2 parts bulgar and 1 part rice and it's amazing. To this day the only type of rice I can eat by itself is basmati, because I have never gotten used to the flavour of plain rice.
I had just put my phone away to have a social media free couple hours when a notification popped up...I couldnt miss your video!! I got SO EXCITED. Barely halfway through and loving it already. 🥰
I find so much solace and positivity in your videos Sadia mam😘...you and your channel is like a oasis for me in the toxic, superficial internet world ..may God bless you all the happiness in the universe💚💚💚💜..keep doing these sorts of positive works with a lovely smile..💜# Sadia Mam and pick up limes are the best...
I love kimchi too! Such a great idea to put everything into a jar! I like how you assembled it! It is so convenient! Thanks for the tips to put wet ingredients on the bottom and dry ones on top !👍Learned so much today!😊
I'm not vegan but I'm transitioning slowly into it and your channel has been a blessing, everything I have tried so far is so delicious and aesthetically pleasing, than you for all the content, recipes and advice.
As a Turkish subscriber of yours for a long time, it was so exciting to see a Turkish recipe and products. I've never tried that in a jar but i most definitely will now. All the recipes look delicious. Also, you're right about the pomegranate molasses, it's a unique flavor and i love it! :)
Hey Sadia❤. A big fan of yours here. I just love your recipes and your soothing voice. Never change. You inspire me to become plant based. I am usually plant based but I haven't yet told my mom about my vegan diet. I fear she will say no to my diet as she'ld feel that I will lack nutrition this way😔. I wish I could inform her about me going vegan in a way she agrees to it.
Know that she comes from a place of love, Saamya. It might a huge transition from what she's ever been taught and known. That's completely understandable. Keep working to learn more about vegan nutrition, preferably from reputable sources, so that when you have a discussion with her you can show your maturity and show you've done research. A wonderful book that might help get you started is called "Becoming Vegan" by Vesanto Melina and Brenda Davis. It's written by two registered dietitians, and they share everything from the basics of nutrition to the more technical stuff. There are more and more people in the medical field and more and more research papers showing the vast array of benefits of following a plant-based lifestyle - it just takes some time for this to become more common knowledge. All the best with your journey 🌱
Aww that's so sweet of you to take time to reply to my comment. I will certainly read the book "Becoming Vegan" & hopefully my mom accepts my decision!
I recently transitioned to a plant based diet due to some health issues. This noodle bowl has been a HUGE time saver and “go to” prep for my work lunches. I leave out the kimchi because I don’t do fermented foods, but I sub in mung bean sprouts and it provides a great texture and crunch. I also added some sesame seeds 1/2 way through the baking time of the tofu and it takes the sesame flavors of the sesame oil up a notch. So good. And thank you for bringing such class, education, and common sense to your content. I keep coming back over and over again. ‘Very well done!
Your videos have the same relaxing, calm effect on me as that of a meditation..thank you so much Sadia🥰. And can you please make a video on vegan icecream?
I like cooks who give leniency or freedom to viewers for choosing other items instead of urging on highly expensive and not so easily available stuff and i can proudly say that she is one of them☺
I almost never cook anything out of this because I'm not good at cooking. But I've been here for over 2 years for all the calmness she brings into our lives and all the nutrition tips. ❤️ And her aesthetic of course!
I struggle with finding a sense of fashion that I enjoy being a female. Through social media and society’s portrayal of women, I find myself craving to wear tight or sexualized garments that I’m not comfortable in. Sadia has such a beautiful, elegant and confident wardrobe that I often wonder how she found her “sense of style”. I’d definitely love to see a video on any tips or tricks PuL could offer to people struggling with finding this style or even funds (maybe something in regards to thrifting in order to save money or benefit the planet). Just an idea/request, if possible!
I think it has to do with the Dutch culture. Sadia is living in the Netherlands. The way women dress is a reflection of the culture in the Netherlands. This short video is about international Dutch language students, talking about Dutch girls: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ggg6Cex8MBo.html And this video more about the (related) Dutch culture in general: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ut4la9Sfk_U.html
Society is toxic and no matter what they make you feel like women is never enough and is constantly shoving fashion, trends and "ideals" (of face, hair, clothes, etc) leaving us in constant frustration because before we reach those standars another trend is realesed. I dont think it takes a lot of effort to find a sense of style but i think it takes a big one to learn to ignore society. Most of us probably have a sense of what we like or feel comfortable in, its just society and the standars that makes us feel like we dont. Embrace yourself, do and wear what feels comfortable to you. Try a style not giving a second to think in society, think of you and yourself only. And dont get to stressed over funds, also capitalism makes us feel like if we dont crave for a lot of things we arent doing the right thing. Try to use what you have now, even revamp your clothes if you feel like. Sorry for the long comment. I hope you find your style and be safe :)
If you are in the US, (I'm only intimately familiar with American culture), thrift stores; garage sales-stop at every one you find and rummage in the clothes, drive a bargain with the seller; storage unit sales; dumpster diving if that's your thing; clothing banks (like food banks); and inviting every woman you know to bring an appetizer and a bottle of wine over one night, and also bring the Hefty sack of clothes they're done wearing that lives at the back of every woman's closet I've ever known, and swap with everyone there. There are also "free boxes" in some cities that can be goldmines. 💕
I think finding your style is key. You can then go to thrift shops or second hand stores frequently to find your clothes. I have known people who have done that
Thank you these recipes sound fabulous. I actually bought a container of that gochujang chili paste a few weeks ago to try. So now I have a recipe to try it in. You mentioned tearing in your parsley so it doesn’t brown like it does when you cut it with a knife. Using a plastic knife also works if you are cutting a large amount. Thank you so much for all the wonderful recipes that you share 😊
This is a brilliant idea. I like to prepare food in advance so that I can concentrate on my projects and not have to stop and cook something. This way I avoid snacking on stuff-which most times is not the healthiest way to care for myself. You go wild thing!💕
All your dishes and pots are absolutely stunning! This video idea is a bit unrelated but I would love to see a video on your bowels, dishes and pots/pans! 🌻
Dear Sadia, this is what I needed in my food preparations. I am just a beginner to "meal prep problems" but it has been a real solution to these quarantine times, to eat healthy and not spend a day in the kitchen. You helped me a lot, thank you very much for all the good advice !! And I also take advantage of practicing my listening skills in English, because you speak fast. Greetings from far away Chile!
Im a Flexitarian (90% plant-based) but love your videos I get a lot of great ideas for meals. This makes prepping meals for the week so much easier thanks!
I really enjoy how much freedom you give to the audience by making the ingredients so optional. I went vegan 3 years ago (vegetarian 13 years ago) and replicated many dishes you showed on display at home. You are such a win for vegans, you voice is calming and you‘re one of the most beautiful women i’ve ever seen. Keep it up 👍🏻 I wish everyone here just the best and lots of love. Stay safe! 🧡
Just finished making the Spiced Black Bean Salad, and OMG 😍😍. I'm trying to do my homework, but I can't stop thinking about it lol. It tastes amazing! I added a little bit of salsa when eating it, and omg it is now going to be one of my go-to easy recipes 👏👏
First time I saw attractive is your kitchen ambience with the plants around so refreshing. Second is the breakfast foods in jars which is the best part for me to subscribe your channel. Keep up
As a Turkish person I loved the Turkish inspired jar. I think I will prepare that for my mother for a picnic this week and I think she will love it! Thank you so much
I always come to your videos within 20 minutes of you posting. It’s like I get an internal alarm you off every time you upload... that’s how strong your energy is, Sadia ❤️
Thank you so much for your videos! I just completed my second ever vegan grocery run, and I am enjoying the lifestyle change. I like this meal in a jar concept. It's definitely convenient and way easier than trying to cook everything from scratch at every meal!
I'm second in comment section btw kimchi is so wholesome you can almost every day and it's for your gut but some like it. Well I'm gonna try to make that spice black bean jar.
Actually I find it's the opposite. Sadia makes it look so doable I am always inspired by her and usually do try to do her recipes. Her whole vibe is so soothing. I find her inspirational.
I started watching with that attitude and by the end I'm planning when and what recipe I will try first and planning my grocery list. This is why I love Sadia. She makes what seemed impossible seem possible.
Hi Sadia! I've watched your videos now for about two weeks and I love it because you're sharing a lot of diverse foods/meals and they are all vegan! (I had a little trouble first to eat healthy AND diverse meals when I started eating vegetarian.) Now I am so inspired and tried out some of your really delicious recipes. As a person with Korean parents I wondered if you would also make some Korean-inspired-foods and was very pleased to see you do the first recipe in this video! I really like it that you are cooking so international :) Keep going with your wonderful work and thanks for bringing this wonderful content! Stay healthy. Sending lots of support from Germany 🇩🇪
Thank you so much! I have too much Korean ingredients in my fridge that goes to waste, because my husband is Korean and they always get the kimchi in bulk proportions from their family members. Even though I'm not Vegan, I will defnitely try these! I've been craving wholesome salads for a while now!♡
The kimchi noodle recipe was fantastic!! All my kids devoured this, making again this week. Even my picky eater liked the oven baked tofu, cooked a little longer to get it crispy! So flavorful! Thank you!
