📲 Our Pick Up Limes app is finally here (1-week free trial!): bit.ly/PUL_app 🎉 👀Why can frozen berries sometimes be more nutritious than fresh berries? Many fresh fruits, like berries, and some vegetables too, are picked before they are ripe. This allows them time to fully ripen during transportation, but it means they had less time to obtain and develop a full range of vitamins, minerals and natural antioxidants with help from the soil. Berries destined to be frozen, on the other hand, are picked at peak ripeness, when they’re most nutritious. Both fresh and frozen berries are wonderfully nutritious, and incredibly antioxidant rich; include these little gems in your meals and snacks whenever possible :)
Hi Sadia, do you have any recommendations for berries substitutes? Frozen berries are really expensive here in Indonesia. :( Same thing goes with almonds, cashews...but we have lots of cheap tempeh and tofu :)
My first time seeing you. I subscribed. I live in rural Peru on a small (1/8 acre) organic farm. i have chickens, turkeys, cornish game hens, couy, rabbits, alpacas, and donkeys. %z years ago i only ate onions LOL. Now I have 175 varieties of fruits, veggies , herbs and flowers. My tiny farm supports 5 families plus many of the old and widowed in the high mountain communities. Thank you for what you do It is very inspiring
I love your tips and how you never say anything that may be triggering for people with ED. Your videos have the opposite effect, they are really inspiring and help being more mindful about food choices. ❤️
Every time the video ends.. There is one single thought that crosses my mind.. "the level of calmness this women carries and the positive vibes oozing out of her video" .. Great video again Sadia :)
All great tips... but i think it's the way she delivers it that keeps me watching. Smiling, no judging, reasonable suggestions. Like turning a light on over common sense. Best take away: people eat what they see.
I honestly get overwhelmed when it comes to eating good but she plainly explains the way to do things. Like how to plan ahead, what foods are really good and I just really loved this video
Sadia, I deeply appreciate your use of language in this video (and across all videos on your channel but especially here). I love your use of "could" and saying "_ might help" instead of "should" and " _ will help". I so appreciate your compassionate, informative, honest approach to educating your audience about leading a plant-based lifestyle. Thank you for what you do with this channel :) ❤️
Wow, this video is so refreshing!! Most RU-vidrs spend about 10-15 minutes talking about how great and useful their video is going to be. When in reality they share only 3 cliche tips in a 20-30 minute video. You were just throwing great ideas after great ideas that I never thought of, with absolute no nonsense talking!! I really appreciated this, what an amazing video 🥰 straight to the point New subscriber!
Everything is so aesthetic in this video! Absolutely mind blowing. From the content, the music, the voice, the videography, etc…it’s so smooth and makes me want to go healthy all in
I never imagined that I could see myself preferring a plant-based diet by merely following a RU-vid channel but you, dear Sadia, have changed my perspectives in so many ways. Ever since I’ve started watching your videos, I have found many aspects in my life that I could improve upon. Thank you for bringing such positivity in my life ❤️
It's not discipline but built up habits. Most super-disciplined people don't have more or stronger willpower, they've just automated certain behaviors that used to require lots of discipline and willpower in the beginning
I missed pick up limes, this channel seriously changed my mindset (in a good way) and help change my food choices (which I'm loving so much). Such an amazing channel. Love from the Philippines.
everything in your kitchen is so aesthetically pleasing, it just looks 10x more encouraging to cook in as well. those organized mason jars, oh my word.
I always think there's nothing more I can learn about nutrition, and then I watch one of your videos and learn something new. I never thought of adding seeds to my nut butter!
Try overnight chia pudding! Almond milk, chia seeds, cocoa powder, vanilla, a pinch of salt to bring out the chocolate flavor, and maybe an optional dash of cinnamon and maple syrup.
I did appreciate your effort to more slowly, on purpose or not. It is much more comfortable to listen to you and concentrate, specially when English is not your mother tongue 👍😉 Thanks Sadia
Definitely some new ones! Had to write these down for quick future reference :) 1. You Eat/Drink What You See 2. Store Veggies in Glass Jars with Water to keep them Fresher Longer 3. Add Seeds into Meals for extra nutrients (nut butters, smoothies, parfaits) 4. Try frozen zucchini (creaminess) and white beans (fiber/minerals) in smoothies 5. Sneak berries in where you can (tons of antioxidants!) 6. Herbs and spices also have lots of antioxidants!! 7. Freeze herbs in ice cube trays to add to smoothies (maintains their flavor/nutrients) 8. You can hide spinach in cooked meals since they cook down a lot in volume 9. Snack arsenal = 3 healthy snack ideas that you can make in under 2 minutes, and always have the ingredients on hand 10. Meal plan! Decreases waste, and even if you don't stick to it 100% of the time, will often lead to healthier choices (PDF in description) 11. Especially during the holidays, make something healthier and filling to contribute to all the parties!
Some new, but I was also happy to see some stuff I already do. I was happy that an explanation of nr. 2 was provided, because I was very skeptical to this practice before. I thought that nutrients could "leak out" of veggies.
Sister you are hands down one of the most beautiful women I've ever come across - your energy is WOW! so so so beautifully positive, thank you for making the world a more beautiful place by simply being you!
I’ve been watching a bunch of videos from the fitness and dietitian community but this video gives a different perspective that I really like. There is more emphasis on whole foods such as veges and fruits but not much on herbs and spices which I was surprised that you touched on. Thank you for making this video!
The energy and enthusiasm that you carry are beyond my explanation. I have just gained so many healthy tips that I think I'm gonna start right away to include in my shopping list. I'm so thankful to you because the tips you give are so easy and handy for everybody. I would love to see video for students how to buy accessible foods. Love, Sadia!!
I'm trying to start eating healthier! I'm not really overweight or anything, but I feel the need to try a healthier lifestyle! My tip is to have a clean environment. I always keep my room clean, and keep water by me. It really inspires me.
Feeling the same way. Want to just get more healthy, and we are what we eat... and drink. My biggest problem is forgetting to drink water. Or anything. I know it's an easy thing for most people. I just really can't remember to do it. Almost causes anxiety to drink things unless it's just room temp Water ... but keeping it near me, esp with a straw helps. Hope you stuck with it.
These are two very clever tricks to use in order to be albe to keep on eating healthy. Water will help you reduce your appetite. Today appetite often is not coming from the need. You can see that from this post: www.healthyguidetoday.com/2020/02/healthy-foods-to-suppress-appetite-and.html?m=1. The other is great too. Not having anything unhealthy to eat will help a lot since you will lose the quick access to them. But why not remove them from your home completly? Yes your family may not agree, but it is better for them too. After all healthy eating is not only related to your weight. Even if the person is skinny, he can have other problems like high cholesterol and etc... Sticking to healthy eating is the big problem really. Jung foods are so much tasty, easy and addictive. But there are still more tips you can use to overcome this. More about them you can find. www.healthyguidetoday.com/2020/02/healthy-tips-to-keep-on-with-your-diet.html?m=1
Here's delicious, creamy sugarless chocolate. It uses monk fruit as the sweetener. Watch this ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SQy68Jar5JU.html
Absolutely incredible tips! Simple and thoughtful, and easily attainable as well as maintainable! I don’t think I’ve seen a single video of yours that I haven’t gained some insight. Big fan!!!
Literally just found this new sis and honestly she’s so good. I stan her wholesome energy and really good tips. Like that nutty spread is an amazing tip.
I think I dont know anyone who has so much passion about food and how to create meals as you. Thanks your your spark, your light way speaking about vitamins, etc. and for your colorful food ideas!
We definitely need more frequent videos! You are one of my most favourite RU-vidrs, because you back up everything with science, practice and down-to-earth everyday-ness (what a word :D). I love how positive you are and how humane you treat the natural need for food but also the natural need for freedom within the form when it comes to food. You inspire me! Please, do consider putting out more frequent content - the world needs more of you.!
@@HappilyOrganizedChaos I was thinking the same thing! All that promoting she does for audible, she needs to get a gig with them-- or maybe that's her plan...! :O fingers crossed...
This is the best video I have ever seen on eating healthily. Uplifting and with such clear instructions. Sadia is such an eloquent speaker. Thank you. So subscribing.
Ito Fermin you really cannot taste the beans and they add protein and fiber. I can taste slightly cannelli beans, but frijoles blancos I can’t taste a trace of. They are both sold as white beans with the type usually underneath. Good luck
Talking about hacks: when making smoothies with strawberries, you don't need to cut away the crown. You can just blend it with the rest. It saves time and adds a little bit more fiber.
@@YourJourney2Wellness Or you could just sprinkle your seed mix on the nut butter like me. That way you don't have to get extra seeds for separate uses.
A buddy told me to research for the diet plan bit.ly/2zllDor It is the best diet program I’ve ever seen and gives immediate results to users. Within a week, I’ve already dropped 16 lbs.?
Checking in from Ecuador. This was truly the most relaxed, fresh, entertaining, and yet educational video to date. Just love watching your videos. You have made a significant contribution to my family's way of life through your amazing tips around our kitchen.
Magnifique de lire des commentaires positifs et reconnaissants qui viennent de l'Équateur, du Pérou, du monde entier... une Française qui adore ces vidéos inspirantes également! 😄
I know I'm late but you can add some of the herb cubes to a glass of water to infuse and cool your glass of water. I particularly like mint and rosemary in my water. Quite tasty
Hey ! I don’t usually put comments but I just wanted to tell you that you’re such an inspiration! You always make me happy, calm and motivated to eat better...
I have a banana (latex) allergy and I struggle to find smoothies that dont have a banana base. Zucchini! Thank you! I cant tell you how much this has helped me.
SUCH a good reminder to GIVE this season. It's easy to turn inward when it comes to diet and eating habits, but sharing our knowledge and recipes with others feels good :)
Reading How Not to Die completely changed how I eat now! I wanna say it completely changed my life, Im just starting my second year in exercise and nutrition at university and that book was totally inspiring!
Man, I can only imagine how much hard work must have gone into making this immensely knowledge booster video!!! Kudos to you and your team! Xoxo from Singapore
Ahh, your videos are so soothing + relaxing! These days, It seems like people are always trying to spread fear about foods or certain food groups. Everyone is always saying, "You can't eat this or that, it's bad for you." What I love so much about all your tips is that you focus on the joy that can come from eating nutritious and nourishing foods. You take away the fear that so many health and nutrition sources try to infuse us with - thank you so much for that! Have a wonderful holiday season, Sadia!
This video gave me the freedom to make a healthy meal, and, that actually is a big deal in this house, I've had an eating disorder prevent me from eating well for a couple of years, so thank you
This is an endearing young lady, there is a soulful quality about her. After her beautiful presentation i want to do everything she says . Hec you cant help but feel she cares . God bless you sweet girl . and thank you so much for this wonderful video on healthy eating .
i find it the most helpful to just do trial and error with logging everything you eat into cronometer.com. you begin to see what nutrients you lack most often and then you can google foods that are high in those nutrients (theres also some info on the app itself) and start adding them to your meals in various ways until u find what works for you. you could do it for a couple days to get a basic sense of what you're eating if counting calories is too triggering, or you could log your food for a couple months or until you have understanding what you should be eating to easily meet all your rdas and have formed healthy habits that help you ensure proper nutrition everyday. at least that works for me currently, ive started logging my meals couple weeks ago and i think ive learned quite a few things (also with the help of googling questions that might arise along the way for me). i understand it might not be the best way to go for people that have fought eating disorders, so a video would be really nice as well
lack of iron+ ferritin ( too much deficient in FERRITIN/ iron can cause heart attack and some people end up getting a blood transfusion. Symptoms of your body with lack of this mineral::: hairfall, white grey hair, getting dizzy, shortness of breath, too much heart beating fast, chest pains (especially for women). GOAT/ sheep/ beef/lamb liver is best as eating chicken Liver can lead to fibroids/ rasooli in tummy. Liver is best eaten little bit left kuchee/raw. As over cooking leads to vitamins gone. If you are eating LIVER best eaten am/ afternoon NOT night time as it takes many hours to digest. Avoid laying down sleeping after eating as not good for heart. Please eat VITAMIN C rich foods like carrots, mango, tomato, bell peppers, orange/ lemon, pomegranate as Vitamin C best to eat with iron foods. And NEVER EAT WITH parata, milk, yogurt, doughnut, cake, bread, cheese, lussi, tea, egg, wheat, bread, crisps chips( urdu) buns, because these STOP body from making IRON from liver- Last but not least important information. lack of iron is also caused by grieving over death of family, when you over think and worry too much then it interferes with stomach so absorption from foods is not working. Lots of lack in FERRITIN and Iron is caused by accident causing bloodloss, menses/ periods, miscarriage, abortion ( apologise for this but it's important).
I really wish you could come and live with me for a few weeks. You hugely inspire me and I'm already eating better because of you. The simple advice of cutting up an orange or apple, otherwise it will come back home was a revelation, because it was so true. Your whole personality glows with your belief in nutrition as a source of health but also enjoyment. Thank you so much. This is exactly the kind of information we need. Lots of love xxx
What a GREAT idea adding seeds to nut butters! And also just making a seed mix to add to things. And that pinwheel of roasted & fresh veggies looks awesome! I know this is an old video but I hadn't seen it. I just love your energy and in these turbulent times you are a breath of fresh air!
the seed tip is amazing!! i made a nut/seed mix out of cut up sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, walnuts, almonds, hemp seeds, flax seeds and chia seeds; i absolutely love it!! i put it in my yogurt and/or mix it in nut butter and put it on toast, organic brown rice cakes, or dip apple slices into it. such a helpful tip and video altogether!! 💕
I am thrilled to read and hear that the "leftovers" I used to enjoy when I lived alone are really OK to prepare for others, now that I am not alone. Just wrapping up veggies I like, held together with blended yogurts or cheeses make "throw- aways" better. Makes me feel better about buying fresh herbs on a regular basis.
These videos are so re-watchable ! I’ve been following Sadia for years and also eating plant based that whole time - and I still get value from these tips and tricks.
I love this beautiful, colorful video. Its full of good ideas and made me hungry for a healthy snack. I love putting spinach or other greens in my soup. I've been doing it for quite awhile. I even use leftover salad in my soup, which bothered my grandson. He didn't feel right about it..lol ... I have found that a little cider vinegar, just like a little olive oil, will add to the flavor.
Your videos are literally so amazing. Easy, informative, well edited and filmed, inspiring and uplifting instead of preachy. You seem like a really optimistic and lovely person :) thanks for your good effort
Your videos are one of the few I look forward to watching on RU-vid! While it’s not necessarily nutrition focused, I would love to watch a video on interior design or where you find your furniture, plants, and other decorations. Your studio space looks amazing and as I’m looking for a new place to live, I’m definitely inspired by the style! It looks so cozy and vibrant!
I loved this so much! Usually I feel very bored while watching nutritious type videos but this one rly stuck out to me, I really like how calm and soothing you are, as well as how aesthetically pleasing you've made it look which inspires people to eat better.:)
Cool! The answer has been right here the whole time. I've been killing smoothies and bowls but my mom doesn't like bananas. Now she can partake too. :)
Lol, but since we don't, the pretzels in the pantry, and glass of cabernet are easy enough for tonight's dinner. 😅 I kid you not..... that was my dinner last night while I tried to binge watch Mr Robot; fell asleep about 15 mins after the opening credits though... As you prob can already tell, I'm a fun time Fiona.
this video is WONDERFUL idk why but it makes me so happy!! i have an ed and struggle a lot w food and any comments around food but this video did not trigger me AT all in fact it made me feel so much better. that i shouldn’t be afraid of spices, of loads of berries over an apple, of extra seeds in peanut butter. thank you so much for this, it’s fantastic
This is such a great video ! Love the that you bring up the idea of decision fatigue, I think that's a huge reason why sometimes I grab a quick not so healthy snack.
RU-vid added your video to my suggested list and I'm so glad it did. I really enjoyed the information you presented and such a calm manner. Subscribed. Thank you
i just recently found your account and i love your videos and recipes! I was currently diagnosed with hypothyroidism and they told me to stop eating gluten and anything with wheat, soy and barley (which i have) i haven’t eaten gluten in a year. I’ve cut out so much from my diet and added some new things over the past year but i still feel like i’m lacking in them. This video inspired me so much and helped me realize that it’s not about diet but a lifestyle and to help your body get all the good nutrients it needs to help boost energy in our day to day😊!!
Start with smoothies! ITs raw goodness, in a an easily assimalated form and you can hide veggies in them like beetroot, spinach, sweet potato and carrots.
