The bubbles were just the methane/hydrogen sulfide gas escaping to the surface of the decaying leaves and sticks (organic material) in the mud. That's why that mud stank. Thanks for the tour.

Enjoyed the NE Philly river tour. Probably too early for turtles, Cap. Similar to hibernation, brumation is a winter cool-down which allows the turtle to survive when food is scarce, and temperatures are lower. Much like I do, turtles burrow into soft soil and enter into a period of sluggishness, inactivity and torpor.

Yo cuz! I moved out of the Philly area about 7 years ago, I just stumbled on your channel a few weeks back and find myself watching it every day during dialysis.
