What used to be Jack Frost Sugar. It took three times to level that building it was all steel and stone. The first two times they went to implode the building it didn't budge. Yo Cuz !
What a Shame, it's happening all over the northeastern cities. Many of our seniors lived for their lifetimes with life inspiring views, now have these unsightly obstructions with no voice to hear them..Great for the Captain for this content. How can one not love this guys coverage...
Hey Cap, I have fished the Delaware River off and on for over 40 years. The Pennsylvania Fish and Game Commission has a guide book that basically says certain species of fish in the river should not be consumed due to high levels of pcb's and mercury catfish is one of them. The water quality in the river though has gotten so much better over the last 30 years that more striped bass and shad come up river from the ocean to breed.
That "Walk Around Philadelphia" is just what it sounds like,. It started with 1 guy, now it's like a group thing, over 1,000 people did it. Walking around the various segments of the edges of the City.
I’m a Philadelphian from way back and I enjoy your program. I remember what Delaware Avenue was like before I95 was built. I hate how center city is being turned into Disneyland. 15:11
Before gentrification along Delaware Avenue stood a large millwork whse that fabricated custom doors and windows. Its front entrance situated right about where that Wm Penn statue is now. Not too much further was a 3rd generation Marine and Industrial Industrial supply Co. Across the Avenue what is now Johnny Hots used to be a restaurant for the truckers to stop in and get a quick meal... great food. So sad. We've lost so much nostalgia
Hey Philly Captain, great video along Del River-Fishtown..I rather catch a fish than eat one from river..Jack Frost Sugar was the former site..Safe I 95 road travels and enjoy to Florida..GO PHILLIES & TOODLES.
John, love your content.. i feel the same about helmets. Back in the 80's NJ passed a law that helmets are mandatory for kids under 18, they also had enacted a law regarding headphones, skateboards, roller skates, etc... The police started to enforce those laws.. Now as you know, it's a literal free for all on the streets and everywhere. I believe the idea, when God wants to take you, he will. No helmets or safety gear will prevent your demise.. Be well John. Enjoy your walking with Rick the Puppy !!!
