Opus Moreschi is the single most great name I've ever heard. Sounds like a Bond villain, or a metal band

The goalie for the Vancouver Canucks is named Thatcher Demko--I've been joking for awhile that he sounds like a Bond villain. In the early 20th Century there was a horror writer named Algernon Blackwood. That's my favourite name ever. It's like destiny. Enter the world with a name like that and you WILL write spooky stories. You will not be a plumber.

it's actually kind of impressive that this is the first time Stephen hasn't introduced meanwhile with a ridiculous description. I personally would have just said fuck it after the second one

Is 32 sushi rolls really a lot? I’ve never had 32 in one sitting, mostly bc sushi rolls just aren’t that filling. I’ve definitely had 16 rolls in addition to some grilled chicken. But yeah, that lady was there to get her money’s worth!
@scrubjay93
@scrubjay93 2 года назад
They are referring to entire rolls 7 or 8 inches long and a couple inches in diameter using a full sheet of nori seaweed. You might be thinking of the single or double portions that you would be served at a more traditional sushi bar with rice and a piece of raw fish on top. A roll is about the volume of a large burrito. Now I want some sushi.
@FiferSkipper
@FiferSkipper 2 года назад
@@scrubjay93 I agree with your comment of full-sized rolls vs sashimi or individual roll pieces up to the point of saying "...about the volume of a large burrito." A 'large' burrito is almost the size of a small baby! There is a place in Seattle, for example, that will sell you a burrito literally called the "Baby Burrito" because it is so huge that picking it up is like holding a newborn. Yet, I have never seen a sushi roll larger than ~1 in or 2.5 cm in diameter. Now I am definitely ordering sushi tonight...
@scrubjay93
@scrubjay93 2 года назад
@@FiferSkipper You are right, I forgot that I am often surprised when I order a burrito and get a small child. But I have definitely had 2" thick rolls in California--not very traditional, but the ones tweaked by Americans like the "dragon roll" they mentioned. I had my very first sushi in Seattle around 1983 or so. Used to eat sushi once a week in Berkeley. Now I live in Olympia where there really isn't a sushi bar I would go to. Maybe for the best since I don't make as much as I did back then, but sad!
@stephen3164
@stephen3164 2 года назад
@@scrubjay93 - ah, yes - I get the terminology mixed up sometimes. The little bite sized rolls you dip in soy sauce and just pop in your mouth is what I call a roll. I forgot they make large versions. The amount of fish and rice in an 8 piece dish of tuna rolls is maybe 1/4 of the amount I would eat if I had seared tuna with a side of rice. So 32 bite sized rolls isn’t “that much”, but 32 full sized ones would definitely require a trip to the ER!

Oh no. You are thinking peices in a roll like a serving of nine. She had 16 slices of nine plus all that other stuff which was a complete meal in itself.

It isn't weird. Just reserved for actual thing. Basically it's being named after a month or a musical instrument. June, Opus, Blue. And while not topping the charts, there are thousands of Opus out there. -said Opie Taylor, maybe.
