Measuring and Adding Fragrance Oil to Your Wax

No, that's a great question! After you completely finish pouring the wax out of the pot and into your container, grab some absorbent paper towels and wipe it clean! That is what we normally do and it works like a charm! If you do not immediately wipe out the pot you can put it on the warmer again or heat it up with a heat gun and then grab some paper towels and wipe it clean!

Measuring by volume and weight are a little bit different. You may have 16oz of wax measured out in fluid oz but it may only weight 14oz depending on the density of the wax. We recommend measuring both your wax and fragrance by weight to avoid having to do any math to convert your measurements. The amount of fragrance you add to your wax depends on the wax itself. The wax used in this video has a 6% retention limit which is around 1oz of fragrance oil to one pound of wax (16 x .06 = .96).

That is the most common ratio of wax to fragrance oil but the amount of fragrance you can add to your wax will depend on the wax itself. There are some waxes that can hold up to 12% fragrance oil (about 2oz to 1 pound of wax), while there are others that can only hold 3% (1/2oz per pound of wax). We recommend to always make sure to check the maximum fragrance load for whatever wax you are using before adding your fragrance oil.
