This video shows how to use a multimeter to measure the resistance (Ohms) of your Flair heating elements. Burners, broilers, and oven elements are all covered in this video.
Nominal resistance values for the various heating elements are listed below.
Measured resistance of your heating elements should be within +/- a few Ohms of these values.
Burners:
6" Infinite Heat - 36 Ohms
6" Speed Heat - 11 Ohms
8" Infinite Heat - 21 Ohms
30" Flair Oven:
Broiler - 17 Ohms
Oven Lower Element - 23 Ohms
40" Flair Dual Oven:
Small Oven Broiler - 31 Ohms
Small Oven Lower Element - 32 Ohms
Large Oven Broiler - 17 Ohms
Large Oven Lower Element - 25 Ohms

You are an absolute legend. I was so lost on understanding my flair, but you made it so easy thank you a ton!!!!

Issue with mine is the burner as far as described. Good to know how to test it.

I always use clamp style leads with the multimeter since the teeth dig into the element terminals below any surface tarnish/oxidation/grease for a more solid connection and reliable reading.

Good info.. My 645VN draws 58 amps total (both ovens and all 4 burners going at the same time). What is the maximum current draw suppose to be?

Great video, thanks!! Is the 8" infinite burner the same for regular & Heat Minder?

Yes, the burner is the same. There was only one 8" burner used on all Flairs. The Heat Minder control simply turned the burner off and on in order to maintain an average temp set by the user. Thanks for your comment!

My 645VN draws 58 amps total. The large oven bake element measures 26 ohms, the input voltage is 236v, but the current draw is 15.2 amps. What else could be drawing the current? Any ideas on where to look next?

Couple questions -I removed & tested two burners (6" Speed & 8" Head Minder) and I got no reading, the meter is set to 200 ohms and just stayed at 1. I used the same meter to test the lower oven element (30" Oven) & got 23.8 ohms so it works. Am I missing something? Also, my burner connections have a male plug that encases the two female terminals that plugs into the big plastic/bakelite female piece that holds the two male terminals. I have seen some that don't have that plug & the wires just by themselves - the female housing comes off so Im wondering if I can transfer my burner plugs to a burner that does not use the plug.

What’s the difference between speed heat and infinite burners?

The speed heat was a special 6 inch burner that was made for 120 (118) volts, but would have an initial cycle of 240 volts “flashed” through it to come up to heat fast. The speed heat burner and special speed heat control are very hard to find. The infinite heat burners operate on 220/240 volts all the time, like other electric stoves.
