That's because you've absorbed yourself in his narrative. And Nick's playing his cards perfectly...his channel is literally just a story that hasn't finished being told yet. And he's sacrificing his body to tell it.
exactly lol. He accepts reality as it comes and confidently approaches each scenario he encounters with truth. It seems to have gotten him really far in life, especially through his creative parody art.
One of my co-workers and I embody that idea to the extreme. I'm constantly making fun of how fat I am, and he's constantly making fun of his tiny dick. We work around a lot of construction bros, you know the type, and they just have no idea what to do with us because they throw an insult and we make a better one about ourselves lol. It's great.
As Tyrion Lannister quotes in GOT: Never forget what you are, Wear it like armor and noone can use it to hurt you. That's what I like about Papa, people try to fat shame him or call him ugly or use other slights/insults and he goes "Okay. And? What else you got?"
He’s either doing it to play along with the joke, or pure delusion… Quite honestly hard to tell… cause nick says all the time how he’s “healthier than he was when he was skinny”… so, yes.. he’s delusional AF, but may be playing along as well 🤷♂️🤷♂️ who knows
No he didn't if was pretty obvious he was playing it up...which is honestly even worse because if he still stuck to his act means he understands the message behind the vid meatcanyon made.
He knew what he was was seeing, and he knew it was true: but he was so deep into the hole that he turned away from it and tried to pretend he wasn’t, all for the money and the views. He’s truly reached the point of no return.
I know I'm late to this but I have to mention this. As a musician myself there has been interesting research into how different people react to music, musicians in particular. Some studies that monitor brain activity while people are listening to music shows that people who get goosebumps while listening are experiencing the music or a deeper emotional level and using more of their brain to process the sound. As a low brass player and vocalist whenever horns come in to a piece I get goosebumps and I feel this shiver go up my spine. Same for when a vocalist comes in just right or changes pitches in a really satisfying way. Hearing Nick say he got goosebumps when those violins came in, seeing his eyes get glassy, and knowing that one of the first things he pointed out in the animation was the violin in the background- it just makes me wonder. Does he play much anymore? Would his life be healthier and less destructive if maybe he had pursued music as a creator rather than food? It's just something interesting that I noticed.
Those goosebumps are one hell of a drug too. I played tuba in orchestra and I was more than happy to sit around and wait for 30 measures of rest because the way the strings sounded was just so nice.
Brass section reppin'! I love the feeling when music hits you like that and your stomach flutters a bit and your nips go hard lmao. Hope that's not just me.
He was saying it in regards of the video at first and then he starts to realize what he just said and hides the emotion although that’s probably not the case
It’s actually so great hearing him talk about it and like show the artistic intent behind it. He clearly puts so much effort and thought into his work. Great shit man.
I love this video because you can almost see Nick's true personality towards the end. He was genuinely scared about being all alone without anyone to love him, being forced to do the one things that he had shaped his whole life around. In the beginning, he was doing his man-child act, but then he realized the symbolism and was worried. But then, immediately afterward, he uses his man-child act to not have to use any real human emotions and cover up his true feelings about this. It's just sad.
he wasn't genuine, he was a little bit mean. he also said he was the most hated on youtube when most of the dislikes are for harming himself not because people hate him.
@@Ufor332 Being genuine means being yourself. People being forced to lie to each other just to shield their egos is objectively detrimental to both individual mental health and lasting progress.
His talent is amazing, but he should stay with himself and his team. When you sign yourself over to something like Adult Swim, you get restricted, and you lose creative freedom. He should just stick with youtube, where they won't shut down his talent because "that can't be on television", or "well our production team thinks THIS would be better."
@@Bro1212_ yeah like a really upbeat funeral with big buffets and gay snoopy cosplayers quoting all his best lines from his RU-vid channel randomly in the background.
Just one positive comment doesn't give you the justice you deserve, man. This entire section is dedicated to respecting you as a human being and it's exactly why we all love you. Clearly, we all wish you nothing but the best. 🖤
i love how meatcanyon is just laughing at himself. his self love and ability to not take things too seriously while still taking Nik seriously is so inspiring
Yeah, it's honestly a lot of patience cause he's just a really good listener. People take that for granted, and don't lend an ear as often as we should. We usually get lost in our own thoughts that we forget others have them too.
"First thing... he's right, I mean I'm a fat piece of shit as well" man that caught me off guard, I'm laughing so hard. Outside of your incredible work I admire how humble you are, being able to laugh at yourself just the same way you laugh at others. Big fan here man
I'll be honest, this is my first time seeing MeatCanyon in person. Based on his animated content, I had no idea what I was expecting, but he's way more normal of a dude than anticipated.
Second time for me, I can’t watch his animations but he’s a funny guy, I first saw him in Tiny Meat Gang with Noel and Cody, he’s funny and meshed well with them.
I just started watching your videos and have been obsessively watching them ever since and wow this one shows what a kind and thoughtful person you are and really portrays nik in a good light. I really liked how you highlighted him saying why do I have goosebumps which was such a big compliment from him to you I thought
I love that he brought up King Midus. That representation of everything Nik touches turning into junk food which is essentially “his gold” is brilliant. While this was a cautionary tale it also was executed so concise that I think Nik got the idea immediately. Even though his facade will never admit to it he must feel trapped in his repetition of this unhealthy cycle. I hope he breaks character one of these days and actually gets help. I rather get to know that person. That I would support. More people care about what’s under the mask than he thinks. Sometimes the hardest things and the right thing are the same. Also MC really was respectful in this and I like seeing that. Sending everyone love ❤
Its kinda fucked up cause you can see in his face that he had the briefest moment of clarity just to immediately snap back into his goofball personality
I really think he was just acting, and knew that pretending to have a window of realization would REALLY drum up the views. I think he knows the message of this video all the time before it was even made, and does it anyway
This whole video was meat canyon giving Nik credit and saying he's a smart guy.... And you still come away thinking 'Omg meat canyon got through to Nik! What a genius!'...
@@d.s.alcoda Exactly. This just begs the question, how much further is Nik going to push this type of work & lifestyle in the detriment of his own health? Really strange stuff, time will tell.
Papa you never manage to blow my mind at every turn. What a response that gives closure to every aspect between both sides. Ily and I hope he reaches out
I swear, meat canyon is a genius. Not just a comedic genius, but a social one as well. South park level of the subtle/brash humor blend, with no bias or fear towards anyone, everyone is a target. Great sport. And yes, many hat tips to Nik for the dedication, despite it being self destructive.
@@DazzerHgnZ3004 Most themes are extremely blunt, definitely agree, but they do have some very subtle and subluminal themes in some of the episodes, they are just hard as hell to find with all of the other outrageous acts. For example, like the episode of Chef leaving, most people i know that watch South Park believe Issac Hayes quit cuz he got upset at the scientology episode (since he's a part of the church). Not true, cuz they've made so many racist cracks and he hadn't budged there; at the time he had a stoke, so bad he could barely speak for himself. That "fruity little club he was in scrambled his brains" (Kyle says this in his final speech in that episode in reference to the Adventure Club Chef was in, in contrast to Issac Hayes and the church in reality) forced him to quit and took advantage of his vulnerable health state. This was all confirmed by Issac Hayes' son. Issac didn't even voice act that episode, it was all audio lines from previous episodes. Pretty subtle messaging if you don't know the context, for I didn't see Kyle's speech that way at first till I researched. God bless Issac Hayes.
@@everstray7482 Not many people know that but that has nothing to do with how subtle the plot delivery is, that's entirely dependent on a random piece of trivia few people know
6:47 I remember when I was 9 or 10 I drew a similar picture of my mom on the couch smoking a cigarette and she had the same exact reaction as Avocado. My Dad had Meat's reaction, he saved the picture after all these years too 😂😂
@@solmoman Well yeah, it's all a character/fake, we know that. But that doesn't mean you're getting "played" because you were entertained. I couldn't bare to watch one of his full vids, though
It did not impact him. It’s gonna take a doctor to tell him that if he continues to eat like he does he will die. That will MAYBE impact him to change.
@@solmoman He did after he said that, for a moment. You can see it in his face, an instant of non acting where realization of his current state hit him and he failed to hide it. He won't change though, because if you don't after having that realization then you never will.
As someone who works with adults in the public constantly, Hunter really is something more. He's able to approach these kinds of things with a more level headed and even jovial attitude than most other people I've ever dealt with. The man is something special.
also you bring up some really good points! people hate watch him but he is loveable. he deserves respect like any other human. also you deserve respect as well for everything you put into these videos.
"i'm getting goosebumps, what's happening?" i actually started feeling tears well up in my eyes there. that's probably the most oscar-worthy shit nikocado has done.
@@JayPlay2Mch that's cool and all but i really don't care? i don't keep up with the drama, i'm too busy with my own life's struggles to wanna be up-to-date with the struggles of people i don't personally know. i mean i hope cory (whoever they are) is okay and all, i don't wish ill health or wellbeing on anybody, but that really doesn't change my opinion that nikocado's "epiphany" moment in his video was actually really good and moving acting.
I showed my buddy your videos tonight Papa. He'd never seen any of your stuff before, we laughed for the last 4 hours. I think anyone who knows, knows that you come from a place of love, and I love you for being that. Keep it coming, if you don't mind. You rock my dude.
Agreed, first time I ever saw him. It's cool to see a face to the voice of these videos my friend showed me years ago. I was expecting some guy dressed in black, who has horror film masks in his room. He seemed really cool I was dying when showed the picture of him and the goofy thift store shirt
He can come back from this healthwise I'd say, but it won't be fun getting there. It's not just views though, it's entertaining people (which he may enjoy, despite being the rump guy) as well as lots of money.
@@The_Engie Maybe he should switch his character. Form the fat guy he gets views for showing how he gets fitter maybe? That would be his character development arc xD
Nick playing that overlapping video and acting as if he’s in a deep state of self-reflection about his lifestyle only to revert back into the character, with the whole thing being obviously planned, really shows how good he is at his craft.
You’re my hero, MeatCanyon. You don’t take things so serious, and the way you show so much patience for people, and you even complimented him while he insults you. Absolute respect I wish more people were like you, but then we wouldn’t see how special you are Love your videos :)
This is the first thing I've watched here, and I really had fun watching you laugh to a nico vid lol. It really gave me a new perspective and a new way to watch those types of videos lol
came here from the main channel, which i just found a few minutes ago. i love this take you have. (i didn't think of nick as hated, more like people are dyyyyyyyyyyinnng for him to just turn this around). but this is such a neat analysis of his reaction but also how you planned the video and stuff. it was Leon Lush's commentary which made me see how much of what nick is doing is playing a character. the previous stuff i saw, it wasn't obvious. anyway, love your thoughtfulness, delivery and humor. gonna check out more of this here channel. : )
Gotta appreciate how chill and laidback meatcanyon is. Like he’s genuinely respectful an he’s able to laugh at himself. He also hits me as the type of person that can definitely enjoy dark humor but he also knows where to draw the line an would never make someone feel shitty or maliciously make fun of them just so people can hate on him. He has such a good heart an I’m all here for it
He's a great comedian, I think its perfect that he can just laugh at himself, he didnt turn this into a roasting match and make it a big ugly thing like some people would have. He justs seems like a chill fun guy.
Its the kind of humor I can appreciate. The kind that will point out the fucked up parts of the corners we don't usually pay attention to. Sometimes its just making horror and real life extremes out of children's cartoons and then other times its paying homage to RU-vidrs and even sometimes making a statement about their lifestyle. But the level of self deprication is that key bit that says he knows he's in a similar boat of standards and isn't afraid to out himself for a joke on his popularity and physical appearance. Considering most of the popular youtubers he's made parodies of and even TV shows have had one or a couple of its known stars have a riot reacting to a parody of themselves that goes so extreme and often dark further cements the bit Nick is playing to get further clout off of it. And Mr. Meat doesn't degrade it or ignore it. He embraces it and uses the chance to both shame himself along with Nick as well as give his inspiration to the video. Hes not a legend for opening the eyes of someone that knows their own path. Hes a legend for making it a satire that other people can elaborate and make in depth essays about as well as be humble with himself but not to the point where he's extremely unsure of his projects and thinks they aren't good enough. He admits his own faults both in writing animation and as a person and accepts it to better himself while showing the world his horrific yet thought inducing nightmares of satire.
Has anyone else ever noticed that the creators of some of the most fuck up stories, movies, television shows, and other media are usually pretty damned genuine, and down to earth? I’ve always wondered why that is. MC seems to definitely fall into that category, wether it be the gore, or the humor, he is always on the nose, and direct, without being a preachy SOB.
I just discovered your Papa Meat channel! oh my gosh you have a pleasant personality! I love how you can laugh in the face of someone who just also kind of made fun of you~
Meatcanyon is great for that. Everytime nicado react it's about something other than the thi g in the video, because if he hate something in the video, it is because it's true
