I cooked my soup today using this recipe. I used some stew beef though. After I tasted it I got on my knees and thanked God I was born a Jamaican. Wooiiii, de soup sweet, it sweet, it sweet!!😋😆
Even your dumplings are perfect, wow. God has truly given you a gift, continue using it for His name honor and glory and the blessings of others (like me) as He continues to bless and inspire you.
I agree! I was just about to mention a cook book must be in the works!!! I dont think their is a channel like this which is clear with instructions and top notch recipes..
I just cooked this so nice had me singing. looking forward to making the pumkin soup. Newly meat and dairy free for me and my family 2021 and these foods make it so exciting.
As am I brother, vegetarian, pescatarian and almost there as a vegan (I still occasionally eat eggs, yogurt, and cheese and have discovered delicious vegan cheese) with the guidance of my vegan girlfriend. I'm loving it for sure!
My all time FAVOURITE soup! I've only made it once and it was okay, certainly NOT quite like the Red Pea soup that I get from my favourite Jamaican restaurant monthly. I'll certainly try your delicious vegan recipe since I'm seriously heading in the vegan plant-based direction anyway thanks to my vegan girlfriend. I was a pescatarian/vegetarian (I'd get my Red Pea soup WITHOUT the meat in it) beginning in 2015 and after losing 65 lbs., I've decided to stick with it and now since hooking up with my gorgeous vegan girlfriend back in May, I'm REALLY enjoying a plant-based diet. I'm hoping to enjoy more plant-based versions of my all-time favourite cuisine which is Jamaican. I've just subscribed and thank you for this fine video that I'll share with my girlfriend asap.
Maaaaan! This was nice! Great recipe! Will be making again and again. Next step! The pumpkin soup. 😤 Plus I may more kidney beans too. Maybe a cup and half more of cooked. I’m just crazy like that though!
Dana Ramdeen Thank you! I have meatless stew pinto beans/ peas recipe up already. Although similar to how I would make red peas stew, I will definitely do a red peas stew recipe as soon as possible.
You using the all-purpose seasoning is similar to someone using the pack soup mix, take away the noodles and it an all purpose seasoning. Authentic means just natural herbs e.g thyme; escallion; pimento berries etc, natural coconut milk ( no powder of can).
Hello sistah ! Thank you for this wonderful channel and for offering us your delicious recipes. If it wouldn’t be too troublesome, could you please add the cooking temperatures to the recipe or say in the video? I can judge a little by the way it looks, but I just want to be certain. Thanks!
Hi! You’re welcome dare. That would be no problem. Most of my recipes are cook on medium heat but I can definitely give more details about the temperature for future recipes. Thanks for pointing that out.
Do you remove the garlic and onion from the soup cause after your hour of boiling the peas I don’t see the garlic and onion? Looks yummy I’m making now :)
Just a question. Following you is the first time I have made coconut milk from scratch. I've found that it leaves some trash at the top. Do you get the same? I've been scraping it off. It looks lovely. I'm gonna try it next Saturday
Naomi Reid Hi, it could be that you’re strainer holes are too big or you blend the coconut too refined. I fine that if I blend my coconut too refined or for too long, I have a little trash when I strain. Try to only blend for a couple seconds or pulse blend for a minute. You can also add half the amount of water and blend it one more time after you’ve strain the first batch to get more milk. Thank you, and enjoy!
Honestly, I never liked the taste. I prefer spelt flour, however It all depends. I wouldn’t say I don’t use it but not often. Sometimes I would mix the whole wheat and unbleached all purpose flour.
