The video is a modern version of beauty and The Beast Meat Loaf with Jim Steinman's production, unbeatable. RIP both Its so over the top, I love it! Lorraine Crosby's singing (Corrected, see replies) at the end just seals it beautifully
I watched a documentary a few yrs back about ppl that knew/performed w/Meatloaf around the time that he did Paradise by the Dashboard Lites. They said he gave so much during his performances that when he finished and went off stage, he would collapse and ppl would simply step over him saying 'good show, Meat' !!!
The composer Jim Steinman adds that on the first Bat tour, when he played piano in the band, Meat would be passed out on the floor after a show, stark naked and drenched in his own sweat. And whenever Jim passed him, Meat would grab Jim and pull him down on top of him to give him a celebratory cuddle Jim admits it was a sweet gesture, but also happened to be terrifying at the same time! 😂
Your emotions mirror those of every Meat Loaf fans for decades🥰, when he passed, his death left a large hole in the hearts of his fans, who loved him for4 or more decades. Same for Jim Steinman, who wrote so many of those hits 😭
Every song sung by Meatloaf , is a complete story that he takes you through with his masterful voice. a legend and will be remembered for all time. Please react to more of his great videos.
Meatloaf was me in the late 1970's with their songs blaring from my cassette tapes, What amazing talent and such a loss. His voice is amazing, not many people realized how talented he truly was.
The first 2 or 3 Meatloaf albums were written by Jim Steinman. He also wrote songs for other bands. One of those songs is "Making Love (Out of Nothing At All)" by Air Supply. Meatloaf is (was known) as a Wagnerian singer (Richard Wagner was a classical music/opera composer). That's why Meatloaf had such a unique voice. This whole album, Bat Out of Hell II: Back Into Hell is amazing from beginning to end. This album came out close to 20 years after the original first album Bat Out of Hell.
This song is so beautiful. You are trying to understand what I won’t do that means and when you finally know it is his promise to be true to her, it just brings the song to a whole new level. This song is a work of art. Rest in peace Meatloaf.
The most wildest thing in this video is.. That this IS heavy metal and still is heavy metal. The majority of music in this genre is about love and mental health. We all started as musicians listening to rock.. We just though hey, lets make these basic chord progressions far more exciting.
Meatloaf is a legend. And his vocals and how he sang with his whole soul, were beyond what most artists could do. You have to hear his son HEAVEN CAN WAIT. But do the live version that says RARE in the title. It hits SO different now that he's gone. And really shows you range in his vocals. 😪 RIP to a true legend.
I love this song "I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)" Meat Loaf looks and sounds so fragile his performance touches the soul, he's one of a kind, one in a million, master of rock opera. He left us too soon but he leaves an invaluable legacy in music... Rest in peace dear Meat Loaf.
Oh, sweet memories...! A girlfriend of mine in the 90's loved this song and was absolutely addicted to it. I gave her the CD and she played on repeat all the time. Empress, you constantly grow more lovely and beautiful by every day! Where will it end? Thank you so much for all your gorgeous reaction vids! Greetings from Sweden!
Although there's Beauty and the Beast vibes going on, there were also scenes from "Bram Stoker's Dracula 1992." Directed by Francis Ford Coppola. " When the scene of the three women come out of the bed comes directly from the scene in which Keanu Reaves is being drained of his blood in the movie. This video was directed by Michael Bay!!
Nicely done Empress, thank you 👼🌹 Singing in pain? Nah, he's just "emoting," steered by his theater instincts. 😎 My suggestion for another serving of Meatloaf, a beautiful duet, actually, would be Meatloaf and Marion Raven, "It's All Coming Back To Me Now". The official video is expertly done, I would avoid the live version. 👼💞🌹🕊️
Meatloaf = one hell of an entertainer and vocalist. his concerts were pure Rock Theater!! Meatloaf like watching a movie in all his videos!! Try "Object in the Rear View Mirror May Appear Closer Than they Are" Love, Love Meatloaf.
Michael Bay, the director of films such as Bad boys, Transformers, Pearl harbor and most recently Ambulance directed three music videos for Meatloaf of which this was the first. You really should check up Objects in the Rear View Mirror May Appear Closer Than They Are, not only is Meatloaf a singer, he is also an actor maybe most notably in Fight club even though he has made lots of movies and that video is maybe his best performance ever.
I remember seeing this music video back in the 90's. It was a hit back then when it was released. So cool to see new generations experience these great artists.
Meat Loaf said he always came up with a full back story for the character in each of the songs he sang. It helped him bring the song to life and made the listener care about what happened in the song. Give "Heaven Can Wait" and "For Crying Out Loud" a listen. Two more of his epic ballads
This is one of my favorite songs, and I'm so glad you listened to it and loved it too! This is one of those songs that just goes down in the books as one of the best love songs ever.
Btw, did you know this is a shorter version, Ellen Foley's solo was shorter in this one. For your own enjoyment, you might enjoy the uncut version. 👼🌹🕊️
Happy Ever After, indeed. This was a short walk down memory lane for me, It reminded me of one of the happiest songs ever from the same year. Blind Melon - No Rain (Official Music Video) will have you giggling and wiggling in your chair. May we all have the strength of the little bee girl. Peace/JT
This is a BIG song from the legend... an epic story. "Sometimes going all the way is just the start....". A beautiful reaction. You're such a romantic Empress!!
The woman who sings the last verse is Lorraine Crosby, aka Mrs. Loud. The makers of the music video decided to replace her with a lip-syncing model for some reason. I don’t know why; Lorraine Crosby is beautiful.
Hi Joy, This one of my all time favourite songs by Meat Loaf, it's an absolute masterpiece, written by the late, great, Jim Steinman, it's from Meat Loaf's 1993 album Bat out of Hell 2, a masterpiece of an album!! 😀 😀 RIP Meat Loaf 🙏🙏🦇🦇🦇 The Bat has flown from Hell and finally made it to Heaven 🙏 🙏 🦇 🦇 🦇 Big Hi from Scotland 😀 😀
Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) causes people to believe that parts of their body look ugly. But not the theme of this song entirely. He didn't want to make love to the woman he loved because that would make her a terrible monster also. He loves her because she is NOT like him.
The woman who sings on this song has an incredible voice. I look forward to hearing that part every time I listen to it. However, the actress in the video, I believe, is not the actual singer (but she's still gorgeous!)
I heard this on the radio when I was maybe 22 years old and bought the Album within a couple days. If you get the chance the entire album is good. "Bat Out of Hell II, Back Into Hell". One of those forever albums.
I view this video a little bit differently than most. I see a man offering his heart and soul to this woman, and I see him pledging everything to her. All i see from her is asking for more. I did not see her offer one thing she would do for him. And then her jaded heart would did not trust that it would last, or that he would be faithful. He did ride off with her at the end of the video, but I assure you, he will be miserable in the end.
