The Mecca Dancers, Jossie Harris, Big Lez, The Fly Girls of In Living Color, Soul Train Dancers, & Rosie Perez made women of the 80’s & 90’s that knew how to dance in those Hip Hop & R&B videos back in the days incredible that’s why not only I love & miss those times to death but I’m glad I’m from that era & it can never be repeated again plus it ain’t nuthin’ like the 80’s & 90’s!!!

Let me say that I enjoyed this video so much this was my time in the nineties in New York too. I was out there dancing up a storm and it's so great to hear how these young ladies grew up and did what they wanted to do and are still thriving. One of the things that hit for me was the young lady's father saying I think you may need to get out of this dancing because now people are twerking. I will always remember the nineties and the dancers of the nineties. We danced our asses off!

So true story, I actually know one of the little girls dancers that danced with Whitney Houston, as well with Janet and Luther's music video, The Best Things In Life Are Free. Her name is Mistey Saffore, she used to go by Mistey Ramdhan. Well, her along with her little sister Vanitey as well as Sylvia, Fajallah and Mercedes were the young girls that danced with Whitney in the I'm Every Woman music video. They also danced along with Mecca when they were in the South Africa concert. In fact, Mistey was actually handpicked by Whitney herself to perform with her at the 1992 American Music Awards. The young girls also danced with her at her concert in Brunei and at the 94 Soul Train Awards. Today, Mistey is a successful business owner with her shop at Sashay Wax-so if you're in LA (Beverly Hills), go check her out! (along with her adorable daughter, Samara!)

12:05 is hilarious. Finally... these ladies are being highlighted. The Mecca Dancers. I never knew that was there name, I just knew Shane and Saleema. Being from NYC all of their videos with Sweet Tee, Kid n Play were in heavy rotation on Video Music Box. I always enjoyed watching them dance. There was something so carefree about their style of dancing. Very young, very fresh and fun. I'm so grateful to GOD for the opportunity to have such a joyous childhood. And coming home from school to watch videos was indeed a thrill for me. These ladies were always doing something fly and you can tell as most of them have stated, it's ALL natural. No formal training. Amazing. I'm also happy that they got out before Hip-Hop dancing became overtly sexualized. These were classy women and they made that known. I'm glad you 4 are still in this realm. Continued blessings.
