My course in "Mechanics 2" in Sweden (or "Mekanik 2", as we call it) was more similar to a Dynamics course - it involved a lot of 3D forces and moments, 3D rotation, gyroscopic precession, and a little bit of 3D statics as well. It also introduced the Lagrangian method, which was an interesting form of free-body diagram that actually involved energies.

Once reactions are determined, we then solve for internal forces like FCD. Can I use global equilibrium equations to solve for both unknown reactions and internal forces simultaneously, using the externally applied loads all at once? Or do I need to first solve for reactions and unknown external loads, then set up equilibrium equations again for a joint to solve for internal forces?

Could someone please help me understand why 587.5 (V) is reported as having a negative value? As per my understanding, M, V, and N at the cut-section are initially considered in their positive direction. The actual direction would become apparent once these unknowns are solved. Having solved these M, V, and N values, we realize that V has a negative value of -587.5. This means that the initially assumed direction of V was wrong at the cut section. Instead of acting downwards as per the assumption, it is acting upwards. Since forces in the upward direction are positive as per the force convention, shouldn't that be reported as +587.5? I have a feeling that I am overlooking something, but could someone help me with this? TIA!
I keep thinking myself in circles here: If the the forces in the negative y direction are greater than the forces in the positive y direction than would V have to be positive to make the sum of the forces 0? I get that the value you put is "-" compared to the direction of the arrow but why not just make the arrow point up and make the value positive.

i still not uderstand why he didnt take the ununiform load as a one distributed load why did he divided it into tow loads uniform rectangle and distributed triangle can anybody helps???
It's the area of the distributed loads (he split the load into a rectangle and a triangle). The area of those distributed loads are equivalent point loads (needed for the moment calculation), located at the center of the respective distributed load.

For the last step when we take the sum of the moments, I tried to take the moment at A just to see what would happen expecting to get a similar answer, but I didn't, even though the sum of the moments should be = 0 and one unknown still stands, anyone know why I can't take the moment at A? thank you.
not sure what went wrong, I have sum of moment about A = (-1800*2)-(2400*3)+(588.9*6) + M = 0. Then solving for M gives me 7266.6. Hopefully that helps.
