Problem 1
Matthew goes on a trip to the mountains with his colleagues. The bus leaves at 8:00 a.m., from the place of residence, from the kilometer marker 20. Matthew notes the moments of time when the coach passes by several kilometer markers that follow the route. The recorded data are reproduced in the following table:
Help Matthew to answer the questions about the movement of the coach. Choose the correct answer options. Questions can have one or more correct answers.
Problem 2
The figure below shows a car moving on a horizontal surface. To indicate the position of the car, the house from which the car left was considered as the reference system. The reference system has attached two oriented line segments, denoted by x and y, perpendicular to each other and having the common origin, corresponding to the numerical value 0. These oriented line segments are called coordinate axes. The position of the car at point A is given by the two coordinates xA and yA belonging to the x and y axis, respectively. If the two coordinates of the car at any instant of time are known, the mode of motion of the car in the time interval in which the motion occurs can be said to be known.
2.1) Draw in your notebook a frame of reference similar to the one below and represent the position of the car at point A, characterized by the coordinates xA = 10 m and yA = 10 m.
Indication. To represent coordinate values on axes, you need to take a unit of measure. The unit of measurement can be 10 meters for each of the two coordinate axes
2.2) Represents the position of the car at point B, characterized by the coordinates: xB = 20 m and yB = 40 m.
2.3) Knowing that the car is traveling on a straight road, graph the distance traveled by the car between the two points A and B.
