People say Elon is crazy, look at what Newsome just passed... I live in California and I fear for my kids who will be in public school in a few years. Thank you for all those who replied. We will consider all options including moving out (difficult for my business), private school and home schooling. As for the question of whether I still vote blue or red: I've spent 1/3 of my life in Asia and another 1/3 in Canada. Got to be involved with many idealogies and I never consider myself left or right leaning. Both sides have huge flaws but both sides genuinely want to do good for the country. This reflect on all the people I meet on different states as I love road tripping. I don't see horns on people just because they side with one group or another. Very few times do I come across extremists, and it doesn't matter which side they're on by that point. Being old means I got to study history a lot, and the bad actors in leadership were never exclusive to one side of the aisle. Having said all that, I firmly believe that I'm not indoctrinated just as you are not indoctrinated, and most of us here aren't. We have an opinion but we have to assume that others aren't speaking out of malice, and it's better to see similarities between us so that we can work together to rid of the systemic issues of our government. They're setting up a game for us to criticize each other so that they can exercise corruption in broad daylight. We fiercely say "my color is the right one" to the point where we are willing to omit the terrible issues our side is doing. Which side is right? The side that isn't running up a deficit to the point of bankrupting the country, for starters. We're in bigger trouble than we think, and we gotta go back to having proper primary elections where we don't get to choose our presidential candidates from each side of the aisle, or have the strength in numbers to bring a third party into the system. Hey I don't have the solution, I'm just here to rant. :)

I lived in California for 15 years of which 5 I was a proud homeowner in Murrieta. I sold my house last year made an absolute fortune and moved to Arizona. Its way better here. California is honestly doomed under democrat governance. Get out while you can.
