It's funny: On Bionis we spend the most time outside ON its body, but on Mechonis we are mostly inside of it.

If you really think about it, the Mechonis is just a really big Tick Tock Clock.

This feels like Metroid Prime area music and that is a compliment.

Rescuing fiora was when this game just started picking up and became so goood everything for me just started to click the battle system, plot, etc

Wish we could stay longer on the Mechonis or at least be able to revisit some areas

This track creates a very special atmosphere. I can't even describe it, but it's strange, epic and stunning at the same time. You really feel that you are in a completely different place than before and no longer on the Bionis.

this is the track that made me go: "oh, so this is how David Wise gets knocked off his pedestal" it's not a competition, but its the first time in gaming where I felt like an OST was seriously rivalling against one of the GOATS in game music.

I started my Xenoblade experience with the definitive edition of this game. When i first heard this song, i put down the controller and just listened. i felt so many emotions so fast. This song is breathtaking.

This song is definitely in my top 5 favorite tracks from this game and probably my favorite area theme. It just grasps how amazing the technology in the mechonis is and what it's like to finally be inside of it. It shows that the mechonis on the inside is just as big and impressive as the bionis is on the outside.

Can I just say how much I love the parallels between Bionis and Mechonis? Really think about it. You start the infiltration of Mechonis the same way you began the game: on Sword Valley. The game then shifts focus to a town at the base of the Mechonis, where you then travel up its leg and eventually go inside the titan, which leads you to the capital located at the head. Sound familiar? I love subtle storytelling like that. It's a way to show the player that the Bionis and the Mechonis are a part of the same world and are similar in many ways. The entire game you're lead to believe the Mechonis is a malevolent force that needs to be destroyed when in reality its people are just as lost and confused as the Homs because of a war that's lasted for ages. It's simply beautiful. And this music to tie it all together is just perfection. It's a melancholic tune that plays as you climb this hulking metal behemoth to the presumed end of the game, letting you process all of the twists and turns the story threw at you not a few hours prior. Not to mention it slaps so damn hard. It's a great piece and probably one of my favourite tracks in the whole OST.

The journey on this mechanical field is relatively shorter than on Bionis, but somehow, this place will eventually become one of the most unforgettable areas in this game due to the huge reverse impression toward this Mechonis world with the very turning point of the plot, the strange mechanical scenes different from Bionis, and of course, this epic song.

You know a song is incredible when you get continuous nostalgia from it without even playing the game. I started with X2 and played X3 on release, solidifying Xenoblade as my single favorite game/series of all time.

I just heard it in game for the first time earlier. Never have I experienced such emotions from just walking into a new area. I LOVE this track!

Sounds like something straight out of Metroid Prime... I love it

This feels like we're in an alien territory or planet, with so many unknowns, but fascinating sights to behold while exploring this uncharted space!!

I played Xenoblade 2 before this game and thought I was in the World Tree again with the music and you rising up the entire time

I really love the guitar they added to this area. I could barely hear the subtle addition on a TV so listening to it here really brings it out, in a nice unexpected way. This is my 2nd favorite theme in the game too, so this makes me all the more happy.

Man do I wish I could go back and experience this game for the first time again. Just the sense of overall progression and making it to this part in the game had such a grand feeling to it, I miss that.

I love just what this song means, that to the machina that was a field. Their Gaur Plains.

The Mekonis field hit me really hard. It felt amazing. Those humongous machines, those red lights, the music... Honestly, the enemies were a nuisance XD, they broke slightly the amazing immersion. Such an amazing game, Xenoblade Chronicles.

POV: It's 9 P.M. You just rescued Fiora, and were about to call it a night. But suddenly, the soundtrack hits you with its sweet synth beat. You look at the clock, then back at the screen, and sigh. It's gonna be a late, late night...

This place and this theme remind me a lot of the World Tree from Xenoblade 2.

The best part of this track is how at about 1:24, where the music swells, I'm almost certain is synchronized EXACTLY with the moment you hit the opening preview cutsene, where this new area - your first real taste of the Mechonis - opens up for you to see in all its glory (assuming you ran straight along the path, which most people do). Gosh that feels so electric (pardon the pun)!

i remember playing xc1 on my new nintendo 3ds xl back in 2015 on a calm evening and hearing this song for the very first time...it literally changed my entire life. THIS MASTERPIECE is my favorite xc1 song and my all time favorite video game song like nothing even comes close to beating it. it's just...there's absolutely no words to describe how perfect this song is, nothing at all

I think this is my favourite song from the game. Actually hearing it in the game as opposed to just listening to in in RU-vid makes it feel so special.

This sounds like the composers of Metroid Prime and Xenoblade Chronicles had the perfect child that made this amazing masterpiece.

This has that vibe, you know the vibe, the "you are in enemy territory and shouldn't mess out with it too much cuz if you do, you'll be in for a trouble" vibe, that vibe. But you can't help it being here for too long, because the song is way too good, arguably the best song in the game. I was like "why does this sounds so different compared to all other places, and why is this amazing?", also, i have certain admiration for mechanical/future environments since a looooooooong time ago, so that also makes me like this even more

"We are going inside!" Still to this day gives me the chills

I'm so sad. I just got home from getting a couple of cavities filled and this song came on during the drive back. I wanted to whistle along with the melody, but since my entire upper lip is numb I can't whistle right now

Upon entering this area in the game and hearing this music kick in, I was just frozen in awe and appreciation of what I had been experiencing in the game so far.

To a lot of other people this song seems to represent the vastness of Mechonis. For me personally it more so represented the coldness of enemy territory. The party is behind enemy lines, climbing the lifeless husk of the enemy they've been facing for so long and this ethereal synth accompanies their delve into the mechanical labyrinth

I adore this track heavily. I wasn't expecting so much emotion and such a fantastic arrangement of instruments for Mechonis. It's oddly fitting, especially in retrospect where you're at the final quarter of the experience, with *Fiona* of all people. It's just wonderful, I spent several minutes listening to it for the first, and was thoroughly impressed.

The differences are more subtle, but they really did improve on a masterpiece with their new version of Mechonis Field. One of my favorite songs of all time, even outside of videogames

I was grinding for zanza when I thought I'd go to mechonis field to hear the best area theme in the game to only find out u can't fast travel there after u beat egil and yes I have tried to go there manually on more than one occasion

When I first went through this area, I immediately got strong world tree vibes from XC2. Both have a mystical, mechanical wonder to them… But XC1’s mechonis field feels more like you’re running into the center of a giant factory, while the World Tree feels more like you’re entering a giant futuristic city. It’s wild, the contrast between the 2.

Favorite song in the whole game. The plucky synths are so distinctive and great

Ive been playing on handheld for the longest time and I just thought Id plug it for once and I was so struck by how much detail there is in the music. I was walking around Makna Forest and for the first time I noticed there are birds singing in the trees. I need to start using headphones or something.

I really do think this track is a lot more genius than people give it credit for. (Spoilers, obviously) What do you often picture when you imagine the end game? The main base for the enemies you had spent the entire game building up to? Oppression? Tension thicker than a bog? Hostility? Especially with an environment so *mechanical*, you'd at least expect it to have an underlying sense of danger to it, right? Well, that may be true for the environment itself, but the Mechonis is not -- and has never been your enemy. You step foot within the mechanical titan, and you're hit with a wave of pure wonder. Perhaps the same sense of wonder you felt when traversing your own home; The Bionis. The tones are almost upbeat. You at least sense no threat within the music itself, rather it almost makes you feel welcome to be there. Makes you feel a strange sense of warmth, and not just from the electricals overheating. You've painted such a vivid picture in your head on how you'd percieve the Mechonis when entering enemy territory, and yet you're conflicted almost immediately thanks to the soothing synths and hearty rhythm. Shulk up until this point, has practically felt the same.

I'm sorry, what was it people hated about this area? I'm playing the game for the first time and I didn't have any outstanding issues with it.

Mechonis Field is definitely one of my most favorite areas/area themes in Xenoblade Chronicles. I just love the instruments used in this track. I really enjoy both the original and this version equally.
