Been saving for it since I heard about it. Pretty excited as I’m a BB main and my previous (and first) steel ship was Incomparable, which I find difficult to play. I like how this looks.
thought I commented on this video 4 days ago, but it doesn't show up here, leaving it again... "Great Video"... I have the Bourgogne on my "to get" list. But now with the Mecklenburg available? Mecklenburg is rated higher on WG's ship stats, but that could be just that it is new and only older (long time playing) people have steel to buy it? My Clan doesn not compete in Clan Battles, so I do Ranked, Brawls, and Random mostly. I haven’t mastered the use of HE or when I should use them on a BB, so I use AP primarily and HE only when fighting DDs. I noticed you used HE when shooting long distances at BBs. What is you opinion, which is best? The Bourgogne or the Mecklenburg?
Bourgogne, is more unique due to the higher top speed, and the reload booster, but Mecklenburg is pretty fun also. But to be honest, Bourgogne is better.
I ran into a DIV of 2 of these last night when in my GK. I found it easy to smack them vs what they were doing to me. Appeared to be not a BB for getting in close with.
Yeah you don’t have a lot of HP for T10 but neither does the ol’ scheilf The cost to benefit ratio for going secondary outweighs concealment. A hybrid tank secondary build is optimal. You get a bit of both worlds. The loss of concealment is negligible as you’re constantly firing and revealing your position anyways with that slick reload, so trying to hide this thing isn’t worth the investment. Lean into what’s good about it. Tanky’ness, guns, and secondaries.
For having fun in randoms do you recommend Mecklenburg or Stalingrad? (I'm a cruiser main but focus on BBs a lot) Really want Stalingrads guns but not sure how it will perform in randoms with all the HE spam and how Stalin always gets targeted While Meck seems superfun
6:39 - "Every tier X BB in this game has hydro"... (Then mentions Elbing having no hydro too as if Elbing is also a "Tier X BB").... 6:56 - "These are Bismarck torps"...... (Bismarck doesn't have torps).... ... Is Maltese just losing it orr??...
The elbing was in reference to another German surface ship at T10 without hydro, and I was referring to all other german BBs having hydro except mecklenburg, in terms of bismarck torps, I might’ve lost it 😂
True, I had said german in the prior mention of BBs, around 10 seconds before, but I had to resay, obviously, Every t10 German BB has hydro, thanks for the correction. :)
I get the logic of building germans for main guns, but I still think you end up with a worse Montana or Yamato, both superior main gun focused botes. Pass for me, good review!
Thats been my thought process, why gun build GK when montana exist? We play german battleships for their secondaries. With that said, I think this is the exception, we have gk and preussen for that big tanky brawling bb, where as I cant see this thing doing well at that. But yeah, for rn, its a pas for me, saving for burger then gonna get incomp after.
GK isn't just worse montana, I mean, sure Montana as a sole gun platform is better, but you also have hydro. I personally wouldn't play GK with secondaries, and I do fine without secondaries, same with preussen.
@@BigD321 I Kinda Agree on that one, I Mean..I am not so sure whether if its a Good idea to Invest a Gun Build on a GK Despite the fact that the GK Accuracy isnt really that Great, and we always go for secondary build because of how fun it is.
Purely for starting fires, I'd rather have 16 guns with lower fire chance than 8 guns with higher fire chance. I think this ship will be fun to play. I wish WG would officially recognize battle cruiser class and introduce an icon representing the class. I don't think there needs to be entire lines of battle cruisers yet, but it would be nice to have a clear distinction between the classes. This looks like it will be one of the more fun battle cruisers to play because of its maneuverability and the uniqueness of the guns. ggwp
So yeah. Just got the Mecklenburg last night. 10 games and 10 wins with 160k avg damage. Pure AP spam. Angled BBs don't matter. Just aim for superstructure and blap for 10+k every salvo. I play it mid to long range. Works like a charm.
Have you tried it in Ranked? and what point Captain do you have on it... Do you use mostly HE?.... sorry for so many questions but I am ready to spend my 3year old collection of steel for either the Bourgogne or the Mecklenburg... I guess you would definitely say the Mecklen... Right?
@@llittle725 I would recommend Bourgogne to be honest. As much as I love the Mecklenburg, it's a bit specialized. I mostly use AP as it's good enough to do massive superstructure pen damage even if they are bow on. I have the Franz v Jutland commander with 21 pts. Have not tried it in ranked as it's T10 and currently ranked is T8/9. And yeah, I wouldn't recommend secondary build as the main guns are amazing.
I had to admit, The Mecklenburg look's Really fun to play I mean...Good Accuracy and a Fast Gun Reload and of course Great Video Review as always. but although...I am not so sure whether if its a Good Idea to invest a Gun Build in a Großer Kurfurst, Considering the fact that we already have a Montana tho.
Colombo's wet dream: shells that actually hit, good reload time, improved penetration, HC that deal damage, secondaries that can hurt DDs and submarines, AA with some kind of range, torpedoes for brawling... Since you can't overmatch anything anyway, who cares of the difference between 305mm and 381mm? DPM is all that matters and these 2 tier are not even in the same ballpark!
Recommend Bourgogne for 1st steel ship. I think most people would. That is what I took and have no regrets. Bourgogne is one of the most consistent ships I've played.
I ran into this ship last night and smack them prety easly, but its so annoying to get spammed by 16 he shell lol Good and fun steel ship, more like mid to long range ship imo. Gonna save some steel to get one
@@MalteseKnight I got it yesterday, I love it so much, 5 games played average damage 150k, not brill but ok for a start just a shame the PR sucks at the moment playing it, but the gun accuracy wow its awesome.
Ok, so, i like u Malta I really do. So a few tips on what I would like to see, in the end obviously its still your call on how u wanna do vids. I suggest when u go through the ship in port, at least mention the guns, calibers, dispersion and the number of guns. You covered the armor layout, but that was about it. And I apologize in advance, but every game I see I will spam you about your ADHD behavior with selecting every single target for secondaries. For me its extremely annoying to the point that I cant watch you stream. I do believe you are filling a gap with ship reviews since Flambass and Flamu hardly ever do them anymore, they mostly bitch and whine about the game. Big fan BTW, PEACE OUT!
Not really, there are other skills to take, but brisk is a free speed buff whenever you’re dark, and yes you are dark when you play at the relevant ranges, 14-16. Going dark and repositioning at 37.5knts isn’t too bad of a build to be honest.
I show the game, u can skip the video freely, that's why the video has chapters that are titled. (Final Opinion can be found in the Summary and Conclusion Section)
Not sure what you main if your interested in clan battles, Stalingrad becomes very recommended to have in your lineup as there are usually restrictions and its basically a battleship overall handles vaguely like an Missouri. If your good at destroyers Ragnar is a competitive option. For Randoms or ranked Bourgogne is strong in most situations. Shikishima is mostly a side grade to yamato ( yamato has the options of similar accuracy with more shells more noticeably higher dpm) bottom line you have to be closer than Yamato to get full advantage of it. If Shikishima is for the masses than incomparable is for the top players very rewarding but extremely unforgiving. Austin is a cruiser incomparable, Plymouth is a worse guns minotaur that downgrades the heal and guns for not having to choose between smoke and radar it gets both. Roosevelt is good for grinding down bigger ships fast but is atchly bad against destroyers which win games so basically can you win by stat padding. If you have Thunder i would use that, same accuracy same ballistics and reload basically Mecklenburg has its best turret angles running away so you have to turn around in front of your opponents to get best position which is not very defendable Thunder gets its best angles facing forward but has better angles off its aft than Mecklenburg. Mecklenburg has good enough secondarys torps and speed vs thunder they both have defensive aa Mecklenburg is faster but thunder turns faster and is far more stealthy. If you want a secondary monster with torps get the schlieffen, if you like the run away style get the Prussian if you want something in-between get the grosser kurfurst if you want 12in long range he spam get the azuma. There are equal or better generalist for this ships role than this specialist but if that is your dream than fly !
Since this is steel ship.i wont get it.and we wont see much of him in game ....not bad as a ship,,little slow shells, but good ruder and speed ,,,,and damm to many guns thats why he have low dpm...i think
Pepega a guy just spammed this video link in a twitch chat from a cc guy that gives free stuff from time to time, i believe he is a payed actor of this channel. He even shouted big fan various times. Pepega :mega:
At least with GK gun build, you can sit at around 14-16km, and not get turbo farmed as hard. If ypu want the best time for secondaries, play Schlieffen at least I think.
