Apartment #4 was stunning😱😱. I am also trying to live alone for medical school because I tend to clash with people who don't like to clean after themselves. And ain't nobody got time for that.....😅

I am the same exact way! I cannot stand things being dirty or messy which is why i am strongly considering living by myself!

Hi! This is an awesome video. I'm moving to DC this summer and would be *eternally* grateful if you would be willing to share the names of the buildings you didn't end up choosing/the area they were in (I wouldn't ask you to share where you live for safety reasons) or how you managed to find these lil gems!! Thank you so much if you're willing! :)

I had a roommate all throughout Nuclear school, so I knew I had to live on my own when I graduated. Living alone is best for my mental health. School and work can be draining, especially having to socialize with everyone. Having a place to myself was crucial for keeping my sanity. I would suggest you live on your own because it gives you the freedom to do whatever you want and study quietly when you need to. You can always go out and spend time with friends/family whenever you feel lonely. Hope you find the perfect apartment!

Those are such good points! I definitely think living by yourself gives a lot of flexibility in terms of how to spend your time. And you're so right - with how busy school is going to be I need all the flexibility I can get!

I definitely prefer to live alone. Last thing I’d want is an additional layer of stress during dedicated for step 1!! I’m running into the same issue as you with apartment #4. Finding nice spots in Rochester, but most places have 60 day notices for their tenants. Since we start in July, I won’t really be able to start looking until ~May. 😩 best of luck on t he apartment hunting!

That’s so true about the additional unneeded stress! Good luck with your apartment hunting as well!

It’s worth looking at newly constructed buildings in DC and throughout the DMV too. A lot are offering 1-3 months free rent and discounts or waiving amenity fees and parking.

That’s a good point!

Did you work while in med school? If not how were you/other medical students able to pay for your apartments, food etc?

Definitely solo. It won’t be a sanctuary with someone else, even if considerate and possibly a nightmare if not. Return to let shades up in the One bdrm and avoid the trash (smell and noise).

Hey! I've lived in apartments for a long time and I definitely stand by family owned management!! They can be so accommodating and they are incredibly approachable! Good luck with apartment hunting I loved the ones you showed!

Where was the last one located? I’ve heard some areas surrounding DC can be dangerous/sketchy but that area seemed good.
