There's nothing wrong with staying up late and getting up late AS LONG AS YOU'RE PRODUCTIVE! Not everyone is a morning person. Figure this out before med school :) and it's always ok to tweak things

Thanks for the tips, this was helpful (i'm applying to medical school this year). Your point about staying positive really hits home. I work in a clinic where much of the staff commiserates about medical records, admin woes, other staff members, etc. on a daily basis and it's probably not healthy lol. Staying positive is not to be underestimated or scoffed at, as it can be really difficult with the people around you and the nature of health care in 2021. I've found that spirituality and outlets (hobbies etc.) have helped with this, but it's gonna take work on my part. That's good to know about the discipline and sleep schedule/day-time routine. I'm not a morning person either :-) but maybe it's time to be. Thanks again

Congrats on getting this far in the process! Applying can be an exciting & anxious time. Figure out how ways to enjoy this season in your life & be present. I think medical staff are exceptionally good at commiserating haha. It’s a special talent. There’s different ways you can handle it, if you want them as friends or they are your friends you can just try & be the one to try and lead the conversations in a positive light. You are definitely right though. Since I have gotten back into hobbies & when I pray in the morning it sets the tone for the whole day. I feel stronger walking away from bad conversations, I don’t take things people say as personally, and I’m able to see beyond the mundane things in the day. I think complaining comes from being overworked with no purpose OR a lot of time on your hands to think about things you don’t like. So finding that balance is the key. Yes definitely try the mornings! The hardest part is disciplining yourself to go to sleep early. Once you get that down your body doesn’t mind the early rising. Let me know if it works for you!

Thank you so much for your inspiring and amazing videos! They are really really helpful and I have actually been waking up late and not achieving my everyday goals, and I'm lagging behind my university lectures and my schedule, when you talked about waking up early in the morning and the impact it had on you, it hit home and tomorrow hopefully I will wake up early and continue to do so in the next days, thank you so much again for your tips and everything! Next week maybe I will reply on this comment and tell you as an update whether waking up early worked for me or not. Wish you all the best, stay strong

Thank you for watching & your support! I’m so glad they’ve been helpful to you. I totally get that. It feels really hard to break the sleep-wake cycle when your day is jam packed already trying to to catch up with school. I would say just find a day where you’re willing to be behind for the day so you can get to bed early. The discipline of going to sleep early is actually way harder than getting up. I need seven hours of sleep so I’ll get myself in bed by 10, fall asleep by 10:30, and wake up at 5:30. Maybe some days can’t be that early but then you just adjust and wake up a little later. You can do it :) let me know how it goes! I hope it helps you as much as it helped me

That’s hard, I know even just two days can seem impossible to catch up. Try watching my video I recently posted about how to study in medical school. Don’t try catching up right now. Try keeping up with the lectures moving forward & let go of the other material you are behind on for now. I would get stuck feeling like I need to know every detail. Listen to each lecture you missed on 2x speed a couple days before your exam and then wipe your hands of it. You tried your best.
