They are not really getting worse. The one that goes absolutely clean is actually the smartest. Because EVERYTHING else goes horribly wrong and finished up in the Dark Souls bridge.
God the dialogue in this game is amazing. Love how the friendlies greet you on the battlefield too. IMHO one of the best single player FPS games out there. So much fun. Thanks for the memories.
“It’s not the enemy, it’s our own goddamn navy!” This actually happened, over 300 american paratroopers lost their lives to what is still the biggest case of friendly fire in the history of the united states.
L.S.A No, the gunners were just undisciplined and, despite being informed about friendly planes in the sky, everyone was on edge as the C-47s, high in the sky at night, could vaguely resemble enemy aircraft. It only really took one person firing in a panic before everyone did.
And after that, every allied aircraft started to display the invasion stripes on its wings. You can see this black and white stripes displayed on almost every allied aircraft that saw combat in the western front
I went skydiving for the first time today. When I got nervous I just remembered that "jumping out of an airplane is one of the safest things a man can do, provided he follows proper procedure."
Pure nostalgia... I even remember where i always landed... 3:28 top of the main building with the AAs 4:44 the stone catwalks 6:25 the house on the center of the map 7:20 top of the church, man i loved that sniper nest 8:41 that huge pipe, that maked easer killing those nazis on the wagons...and the nazys on land, and the nazis on almost every place 9:32 literaly every place I could, LITERALY, EVERY PLACE... I remember...end of summer...2009... my bro's pc... I even remember that I broke my leg...I was like 10...i played this game for 6 straight months... such good memories... Underground Allied assault Vanguard AIRBORNE!
These little moments while being in the C47 have always been the biggest joyment I ever had, I always wished it wouldve been longer, but Post Scriptum will be releasing soon so I hope we have kind of the same thing :D
"Who does the army trust the most? Airborne! Airborne!" "Who do the women love the most!? AIRBORNE! AIRBORNE! "WHO DO THE NAZIS FEAR THE MOST!!!?? *AIRBORNE* !!! *AIRBORNE* !!!
One thing thqt always gets it is how the Market Garden jump is the only one that goes off without a hitch. Yet everything afterwards obviously got far more complicated for the Allies.
Randy Cheow "and he ain't going to jump no more. Gory gory what hell'va way to die. Gory gory what a hell'va way to die. He ain't going to jump no more!"
I played this as a kid, and now, being an airborne-qualified soldier, I realized the mistakes that this game had lol. One of the mistakes is there's only one type of landing. You can never do a "flared" or "greased" landing with that canopy.
@@Commrade-DOGE "botched" is in actual fact the only way to land. You can google "Parachute Landing Fall" if you want to see what a parachute landing looks like.
@@eddiejrbation5095 Hmmm interesting question. Some people may find the first jump intimidating, but for most of us, we've been trained so much that the training takes over. There will be lots and lots of training where we do mock jumps within the safe confines of a facility before doing the real thing. So if you are unable to jump from height within the training facility, it's very unlikely you will progress to jumping from the plane. Naturally when jumping from the facility there will be some fear but it's just a matter of making up your mind and taking the step out (off the ledge). So when we were actually in the plane (C-130 for me), the training naturally takes over and it was just repeating what we had trained for. But nothing could prepare me for jumping into wind of a plane travelling at around 100 knots. The most worrying part is actually not jumping but landing. The fear of injury is strong, because if you don't land right you can get injured badly. In my course there was 2 guys who suffered severe injuries. 1 had a fractured ankle while another, if I remember correctly, fractured both his legs and his ribs.
When I played this game years ago, the textures of the soldiers never loaded properly in cutscenes. Everyone on the plane was a silhouette. But it was so good stylistically I never even noticed
6 years later I am only now discovering this video and am feeling nostalgic remembering when I downloaded the demo in 2007. What I wanted to comment about this video and this game is how incredible and utterly heartbreaking the sound design is in this game. When the engine of the plane revs up as it begins to lose control, I think about the pilots and how dedicated to their job they were to get these boys over the LZ. And then I feel like crying knowing that they died when the plane crashed. I'm horrified when the soldier is getting ready to tell his joke and the bullet pierces through the fuselage leaving a beam of light and a corpse. Then seeing the rest of the soldiers join shortly after. The music is incredible but it makes me cry knowing that some of these events could have happened in real life. Someone's grandfather was on that plane forced to jump out as it caught fire. Someone's father died flying those planes into enemy territory where they refused to turn around to safety. Of all the Medal of Honor games, this one is worthy of a sequel or a remaster.
13. years. old. i can't believe this game is this old i remember playing it for the first time, the graphics it has in its time were amazing, child hood game, this and MOHAA
Tbh, I thought it was him acknowledging his death. I didn’t hear the “STAY DOWN” I just thought that the first guy was telling the wounded one, that everything was gonna be ok, not telling him to stay aboard.
This game is what I've always wanted Halo 3 ODST to be like. Choosing your drops, weapon customization, progressing throughout the war. God it'd be perfect.
When I played this for the first time, given that Varsity’s opening message describes the feeling of knowing your chute deployed. At the start of Der Flaktrum, when Travers gets yanked out of the plane, I thought that would be the ending. Splat, then credits.
I decided to look this up for fun. It led to a deep dive into a bunch of other videos that inspired a lot of down-to-Earth patriotism, and I feel rejuvenated. I have now realized how awesome the opening tutorial was for this game - just to learn the jumping mechanics. The way it's done... It honest to God made me cry a little. The said, fun thing I just noticed - the line where he says 'Because it's proper procedure' is the only jump you make during training where the red light is still on. Ha.
Same, i remember when he gave it to me when i got my xbox 360 and i played it to the last mission but i nevee beat it took me at least 5 years before i decided to play it again thinking i was old enough to beat it
You kinda can in BF 1 multi-player games. But I get you. There is no amount of freedom of starting than parachuting from above. I wish post scriptum had this feature.
You just described every game i played as a kid. Could never beat em but then i try a few years later and beat it immediately, always such a weird thing.
Why do people not look up at the other planes, why u looking down the whole time defeats the whole point of watching this lol ...I love the scenery of those jumps man
The preview mentioned co-op and something called a greased gone botched landing where you're dragged across the ground for seven seconds. I've landed every possible way and have never had that happen.
It probably is , also it is mentioned in the moh wiki where i came from to see my self , airborne is the only one i havent played, vanguard is my favourite
This game was always awesome to replay only had minor things I didn’t like (no weapon customization and very closed lever designed but eh you do what you can) I pray there’ll be a remaster one day
"WHO DO THE LADIES LOVE THE MOST? AIRBORNE! "WHO DOES THE ARMY TRUST THE MOST? AIRBORNE?" "WHO DO THE NAZIS FEAR THE MOST?" Player: "Doomguy?" *others look at him like he's crazy* Player: "well, they die and go to hell and who currently controls hell?" *Airborne troops miss the DZ and the plane blows apart as they think this over*
