Father Kapaun's Medal of Honor came in our opinion 60 years late. God bless Father Kapaun for his unselfish devotion to Christ as he ministered to our American military in that horrible war. Thank you for posting this wonderful tribute to Father Kapaun. People everywhere should be watching stories like these - not of man-made idolized celebrities.

I am hooked, imprisoned to this digital world . . . and, I'm honored to have a few moments to learn about the heroics of a Man of God, Father Kapaun . . . it's souls such as this, that have made me proud, in serving my county ! ⛪ 🇺🇸

It is saddening to find out it was already being referred to as forgotten in 1955.

Good for you, RU-vid !!! I saw this when I was 10 years old. Farther Kapaun's reception of the Medal of Honor today caused me to see if the show might be here.

PRO DEO ET PATRIA. Here's hoping Chaplain Kapaun will be granted sainthood. In my mind, he's already a saint. There's an excellent bio by Roy Wenzl and Travis Heying (Ignatius Press).

Much to my regret I have to admit that I remembered James Whitmore and did not remember the name of the hero who he portrayed. The scene that was fused into my memory bank was Whitmore clenching the cracked corn in his fist and giving thanks to God for the meal the soldiers were going to share. When I heard the details of Father Kapaun's valor and sacrifice, it was time for more research. Just as I suspected this was indeed about the man portrayed the tv show.

Chaplain Kapaun was a rare person honored by President Obama recently for his courage and selflessness during the Chinese counter-onslaught in Korea.
