The following is footage is from the Jun 16, 2019 KC-390 Transport media flight hosted by Embraer at the 2019 Paris Air Show. The Defense & Airspace Report along with a dozen international journalists participated in the hour-long flight over Paris and the surrounding areas. The footage shows taxing on take-off and landing as well as shots in the KC-390 at altitude. Sponsored by Bell and Leonardo DRS.

Thank you SuperSix. The FAB developed this airplane and send for EMBRAER factory it, looking for all features of mult rolling service and operational performance. KC-390 Millennium have lot of skills.

In terms of quality and cost-effective, it is the best aircraft in its class. It seems to me that selling the KC-390 could be like selling water in the desert. The C-130 is the past and still is the present. The KC-390 is the present (this year begins to be operated by the Brazilian Air Force) and the future - for many years.

It's not ugly, the shape is the result of a well thought concept. It does enter a crowded market where the Spartan has an important head start although it is a turboprop. Hair cuts don't make a good military.

I really like this plane. This is a niche filler. Great idea. I don't think there's an Air Force in the world who wouldn't have some sort of a requirement for this plane.

@Leonardo San El Joint Venture solo cubre los E-Jets y, por cierto, un acuerdo dice que deben mantener la fabricación de al menos la mitad de los componentes de la aeronaves en Brasil en la fábrica de São José dos Campos. Si dice acerca de la Joint Venture en el KC-390, el avión se fabricará prácticamente en Brasil, donde se enviará a finalizar en los EE. UU. I think the comparative advantage the A-400M is that the AirBus airplane has a higher load capacity, but the unit cost, maintenance, etc., are absurdly larger. In addition, it has a range of 10% higher, although the cruising speed is lower than that of the KC-390. It's no need show the specs or the exceptional qualities of the KC-390 here. It's hard to think about the A-400M as a competitor. The KC-390 would be the natural replacement for the C-130 and a substitute in excellent style (seeing how much the KC-390 is suitable for accomplishing missions). Already the A-400M and the new version of the C-130, would be destined to attend more particular needs and more political and industrial choices and no than that global specs needs. Considering the analysis I have done. It seems to me that an immense part of the medium-sized military transport missions can be made with the KC-390, a complement made with larger military transport aircraft would be necessary, evidently with much smaller numbers, to fulfill the rest of the missions. It should be noted that such missions are generally much rarer, so it is not necessary to have larger, costly, less versatile aircraft, less suited to the missions because they are a little larger or because they have a higher carrying capacity only. Within a military force, in terms of missions requiring small, medium and large transport aircraft, I can see a captive place for the KC-390 in mid-size. Within good sales actions, it can be a great success worldwide. I believe it is possible to reach, even considering new aircraft that may arise, to achieve 30% of the market. If the aircraft does not present any serious or insurmountable problems that we do not know today, if that does not happen, I believe the consumer market has losing if do not choice the KC-390. I am Brazilian, but I am being deeply honest and objective. In terms of equipment, this is what I expect for my country: that the KC-390 be the backbone of transport aviation and that we have a few larger transport planes to meet other needs, besides light transport.

Wish my countries airforce the Royal New Zealand Air Force had gone with these aircraft instead of the C-130J they recently decided on. It seems they went with the C-130J's because they were not sure of the reliability of the KC-390 as it is a new aircraft.

going to the c130j is a no brainer for NZ. I have a suspicion that there might a be a few countries keeping an eye on it now that boeing is buying embrarer its going to a be suddenly a lot more interesting to other countries. For example in australia the C-130J we have the maintainence contract ends in 2024, theres some rumor that we will not renew it, these could end up in NZ. With RAAF needing to fill the spot between the C-17 and the spartens, these might be an option but suspect they might be a bit small

And yes, they speak Portuguese. A beautiful old language spoken by many millions. Que lindo esse avião. Lindo por fora, gracioso no ar e lindo por dentro. Rápido e com força suficiente para transportar muitas toneladas de equipamento militar para Portugal ou até para combater fogos. Um avião moderno, ágil, rápido e potente, práctico e versátil. Portugal encomendou 5 KC-390 ao Brasil. A Força Aérea Portuguesa vai ter 5 desses lindos 😍🥰 com mais um de opção no final do contrato perto de 2030. Uma sexta aeronave será bem-vinda. Então acho muito legal Portugal ficar com 6 unidades desse maravilhoso avião. Estou orgulhoso do Brasil e orgulhoso de Portugal que vai comprar bons e modernos aviões. How beautiful this plane. Beautiful on the outside, graceful in the air and beautiful on the inside. Fast and strong enough to transport many tons of military equipment to Portugal or even to fight fires. A modern, agile, fast and powerful, practical and versatile airplane. Portugal ordered 5 KC-390 from Brazil. The Portuguese Air Force will have 5 of these beautiful ✈🛩 😍🥰 with one more option at the end of the contract near 2030. A sixth aircraft will be welcome. So I think it's really cool for Portugal to have 6 units of this wonderful plane. I am proud of Brazil and proud of Portugal that will buy good and modern airplanes.

I can see the usmc/ usn purchasing a few but not the air Force, American funds for American products....non the less it would be kinda odd but cool to see a few of these sporting the USAF livery and in action..i.e. rescue missions and humanitarian missions

I would go for the C130 Hercules. 4 engines in case of combat damage and rougher because of its turboprops.

Actualy not, in case of engine failure 4 engines are better than 2 but Embraer concluded that turbofans would be suficiently tough to handle rough terrain and dust/debris ingestion while props can actualy be easly damaged by toutching the ground or any obstacle such as trees

Another thought for the C-130 is landing on unpaved fields, etc. this aircraft appears to have a very low carriage. I don’t think it can land on unimproved fields.

The c130 is an amazing aircraft that does what it was meant to do and then some. But its limited by its speed and the fact that most of them are nearing the end of the limits of the intended airframe lifespan. This is a good gap filler but definitely not a replacement for the c130. The only replacement for a c130 is a c130.

Really, isn’t any competition in this category. For the US, it probably makes more sense to keep operating the c-130 even when it’s a bit too large for the mission. It will be interesting to see what nations end up operating and how they utilize these aircraft. I can’t help but think this aircraft should have been designed to fit between the c-130 and a-400. It’s just too small except for niche missions.

F-15 and Su-35 are similar, too. But Su-35 is not a replica of F-15. C-2 is bigger than the KC-390.

@@wilsonarioza mas eu prefiro o drone de vcs... questão de gosto! Muito mais divertido! Esse Embraer é muito feio. Talvez um dia, quem sabe, atingiremos o nível tecnológico de vcs. Seguimos na luta, mas acompanhar um país poderoso igual ao de vcs é uma tarefa que, se tudo der muito certo, em 100 anos talvez...

The C-2 is bigger and have more payload. Both aircraft are developed at same time, but the C-2 flies before the KC-390 due lack of investment by Brazilian Government.
