TMNT the franchise that has gone on for decades with a number of films and tv series some good (2003 series and 2012) some bad (Michael bays Tmnt and Next mutation) and one that’s divisive/underrated (Rise of the TMNT).
I saw this in theaters back in the day and loved it. But yes there was a lot of cut stuff from this movie. I don't remember what was fully cut it's been ages since I read up on it.
The nunchucks were banned because of the influence of Bruce Lee in Enter the Dragon, as that movie was infamous for its nunchucks scenes as it inspires kids to try it for themselves only to get hurt in the process, so there was a legit reason for the censors, in the UK.
21:03 remember how he fired her cos of that subplot about Sterns making a deal with Charles to get April to stop calling him out for being a shitty cop? Nevermind, he gets away with it and she never finds out. Though at least he hopefully had the decency to feel bad about firing April while her house burned down, hence giving her back her job.
As a New Yorker myself, the streets smell like the sewer, theres grifters everywhere, and driving is a nightmare. So I gotta side with the turtles in that the pizza is the only reason to go.
You know... As a kid when I watched it for the first time, the scene where the turtles go home to see their sensei gone, yeah, I thought that scene was terrifying
