Media Manipulation and Unconventional Marketing: Author Ryan Holiday on "Trust Me I'm Lying"

There once was a fellow in Australia who wrote a letter to the editor about 'YPAHMTS' Young People Against Heavy Metal T-Shirts, the story was picked up by all media outlets it spread like wild fire, the fellow ad-lib'd/improvised a whole movement on the fly he manipulated media from Radio TV Papers finishing off with a live debate on national TV and there he decided to tell the truth about YPAHMTS, but no-one cared about "The Truth" the story folks wanted was the Heavy Metal T-shirt thing

"What's the cost to you for the click - nothing" - the clearest evidence that the online ad market is a massive bubble waiting to burst.

What he's talking about is not new, it's just made easier by the internet and social media and a twenty four hour news cycle. I am thankful for my Reason subscription.

Thanks to that strategy the nation is apparently concerned with who David Patraeus is boinking instead of the the fact that we are months away from total fiscal insolvency and our money becomes just paper.

What is with the different sound quality between Tracey and Ryan? Tracey's audio has a bit of static/white noise. Ryan's is clear. I've noticed this on a couple of other videos recently too.

It means they didn't set up the microphones correctly. The whole production was pretty amateur; it wasn't lit well and had some weird edits too.

Why? He's saying something that people need to hear. You might have already known this, but others might not have known or known to the degree of how bad it is.

I guess they can make up anything that they want. As longest it generates readership.

I watched this again because 1. Ryan Holiday talks weird and I don't know why. 2. Tracy Oppenheimer's expressions when she speaks are almost bizarre. The keeps reaching back with her right arm.

The fact that he slants it the way he does says alot. I prefer the internet that can allow me to use critical thinking as well as being patient enough to wait an hour to see if the story is verifiable rather than sit there and trust msm. lol. failed attempt on his part.

This is a bit of a hit piece on the Internet. Quite frankly I can make up my own mind on wether someone is bullshitting me, plus I can look at the same story from many different angles. Hearing both sides of the argument is always good. Fuck the propagandists. Keep whining all you like.

I would say "ideologies" are the chess players. A none thinking entity. Not really ran by any one particular group or person, but is used or forced in spurts by different people and organizations. Just a thought.
