Now, there's no accountability. Obama also set up propaganda agencies that manufactured news for all outlets - TV, radio, print. Even network comedians are scripted. American journalists who spoke against him or the leftist agenda were jailed. 1000s of foreign propagandists were brought in & placed at every network, newspaper & even within government offices. One of my favorites by Don Henley. Prior to this song coming out, I was a dispatcher for a volunteer fire department. Would get a call from a newspaper writing, asking me about any big fires or bad auto accidents. Was getting tired of this solicitation, so I replied..."we saved two heart attack victims and safely transported several people to the hospital...does that count?" He uttered "nope" and hung up. Ticked me off...so when I heard "Dirty Laundry"...I just smiled all the way to the core. Thank you Don!!!

Great backstory, Adam. Interestingly, I learned as a kid what "Dirty Laundry" referred to, probably around the time the song came out. I believe I was in Sixth Grade and heard it on the school bus, which was tuned to the local hit station. I am going to say that I spent half my adult life working in the Broadcast News Industry as a Writer, Reporter and News Anchor. I will say that most of the staff who don't get face time -- Writers, Control Room Staff, Background and Ancillary Staff -- are pretty down to earth people. But unfortunately, there IS an Ego-Driven thing going on with a lot of people who are on camera. And depending on their organization, it becomes a bit of an Ego-Driven Cabal when you see certain veterans of the industry gathering together for a particularly big story. In other words: if you're from a lower-level broadcaster, the bigger fish will pay little attention to you and even look down their noses at you, UNLESS you assert yourself, as I often did. BUT... And this is important... The real veterans -- the top guys and gals -- are some of the most humble, grateful and accessible people. I had the opportunity to spend the first 6 months of my broadcasting career at Canada's national broadcaster. Their top news anchor was known all across the country. I used to see him in the elevator in the mornings. HE would greet me with a hello, how are you FIRST, before I could say anything to him. I also once had a job interview at their main competition. The news anchor -- a veteran female reporter -- was equally gracious to me that day. Meanwhile, it was the "bubble-headed young ladies" who would come in wearing short skirts, low blouses, and high heels to try to gain eyeballs. And, as we have seen, the concept of Dirty Laundry has been taken to extremes, where news media has created such a reality distortion field that it has caused mental health issues and division among people. FYI: Since getting laid off from the industry on November 28, 2011 I've never looked back. I will never again work for an industry that contributes nothing but constant misery and that has such a striking lack of integrity. Keep up the great work, Adam. I greatly enjoy your videos!

This was a great song and one of the trailblazers of American new wave. It was so out of the ordinary for Don and it worked! As talented as all these guys are, I think the relationships at that point were so fractured that nothing good would’ve come of another few records I’m glad they had their solo careers to kind of jumpstart the band.

Dad was a huge eagles fan. Took me to see them when they reunited in 94 for the Hell Freezes Over tour. He was bummed Stanley wasn’t back as take it to the limit would’ve been the ultimate to what was already a crazy lineup of hits from everyone’s solo stuff (Walsh, Fry and Henley were the standouts). We saw them first at the Orange Show Pavilion where he saw both US festivals, dad shared a bunch of stories. One more time at the rose bowl but that show was shorter with less solo stuff. Dad went from Covid a couple years now but I love to think back to those times.

When my ex and I split up, people just had to say, "What about the kids?" My response was to ask which was better--to grow up in one unhappy home or two happy ones. If the Eagles had stayed together in that unhappy home, the quality of their music would have eventually started to suffer. Plus, we would be denied hits like this one, Boys of Summer, Smuggler's Blues, and Life's Been Good.

Dirty Laundry, hit close to home for me. In the 70’s I belonged to one of the largest Churches in the area. People from all over the world would and visit. In 1979 the perfect storm emerged and my church was in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. CNN and other medias camped out across the street. I saw first hand families torn apart, friends divided, and how the media twisted and played with words. This song sang what I knew to be true. Thanks for the memories.

Don Henley definitely had the best solo career out of all of the band members, aside from Joe Walsh who was not an original member of the group. The “End Of The Innocence” album was stellar and contained my all time favorite of his in “New York Minute”. Also as a correction to the year you had stated previously, it was on July 31st 1980 that Glen and Don had their huge blowup on stage.

Dirty Laundry was and still is needed to voice the invasion of privacy that the media of all sorts have on celebrities. I can think of several celebrities that had ruined reputations when they were juveniles. They then grew into adulthood fulfilling those reports. Sad that young people with lots of hopes and dreams can be manipulated that way. Glad Don, Glen, and the rest of The Eagles lineup took to the solo route for those 14 years before reuniting. Gave us individual views and creativity of each. And a reason to believe that something good can come from Hell freezing over.

You speak often of your Dad on here and how y'all related to music. I understand. Here's my Eagle's story with my Dad: Born in '57 here, Boss. Senior in High School 75-76. Lyin Eyes had just come out. I was driving Dad somewhere and put the 8-track in. We listened to Lyin' Eyes then Desperado. Now DAD was a cold hard confirmed old school COUNTRY and WESTERN fan (emphasis on Western) and we seldom saw eye to eye on music. After those two songs finished he looked over at me and said "Boy, that right there is pretty darn good." I was on CLOUD NINE!! Thanks for the memories, my friend!
