I hope it's ok if I add this. Regular insulin is never mixed in D5 sol always in NSS. But you are right, being cognizant of the solution the patients' other meds are mixed is important.. e.g antibiotics, steroids, etc could be mixed in a dextrose-based sol. Thanks again!
Never hold the insulin infusion for a low potassium especially in Type 1 Diabetes and hoping that the potassium will improve ! You should be very aggressive ! with potassium replacement with 40mmol/L of fluids .. Otherwise, the presentation is good !
