This is the first time I’ve heard something negative(but informative) and eye opening about med schools in Italy and I’m so happy that I found your channel it’s helping me a lot to prepare for med school in Italy next year hopefully 🙏🏻💞
i can't stress enough how useful and profesional your content is. thanks SO MUCH for you work, you make all the italian-medschool-related stuff seem easy and accessible 💙
Hi! I really enjoy your videos. They make me feel like I'm not alone feeling that way. I hope you are not stressing too much overall. Me, personaly I think we Italian University students suffer from exact same problems as you international students although we speak the languge. In Italian universities no body holds your hand and I agree with that. Even if for us is not a shock becouse we already knew about it, it's still very difficult to keep up and don't make the exams pile up. Another thing you said about the little student groups that may be a bit closed sometimes. I get that too. It happens a lot in my university too. People are jelous of the information they got. But as you said you got to set the mood right away the first year. Speak to students and professors!
Oh god, the only thing that kills me is the 1st one.. No one will be holding my hand and I'm a pretty slow person, I'm afraid that I wont be able to catch up.. specially after seeing your notes for biochemistry, the impostor syndrome hits really hard here
I will ask a student, the only person I know who did it got a 260 in it, but at the moment there are a few higher priority things we're focusing on, but I will defintiely add it to the list :)
Thanks so much for all your videos and taking your own free time to do them!!! As you said, most of Italian medical school are very theory oriented. Do you know how is the transition to erasmus exchange/ residency in other country? Are italian students appreciate?
such a wonderful content, thanks for all you do..... could you please help explain to me what am likely to face as a foreign medical graduate who is to join 5th year medical student here in Italy.
H friend, good day may I ask about the oral exam? Is it done in front of the class or one one with the professor? May I ask also, how may moths is 67% of attendance in the class? Thank you so much for posting this kind of topic, it really helps a lot, have a wonderful day in Uni🌺
hey amazing video! could you compare the mode of studies for South and north Universities? in terms of transfers? cause availability of a seat and a similar mode of study is quite important for transferring right?
Hi thank you so much for all of this channel. I ask you to make a video about after graduating the 6 years medicine and surgery course in italy. Like How to get a job .and what the heck is 4/5 years residency
Hi Sierra, Congratulations on your graduation. I wanted to ask if you can transfer credits at Uni of mILAN Statale . Courses like Biochem and Anatomy and Physiology as we complete those courses here in the US. Can it shorten the duration of the degree as well? Also this would be a MD degree right? 🎓🎓
Hi Dr 🌟🌹I'm from Iran. I've finished my bachelor's degree in computer science. But I really like to study medicine in Italy, so i want to study for imat but i have stress and bad feelings about orql exams that i can't pass them .Italy offers a Dsu scholarship to the Iranian and third world countries, but the condition is that you should pass units every year or semester, I'm really worried about this.Is it possible that with a lot of effort we pass the exams successfully ?
parma english course is also 8 times, its really shocking, honestly is bit a weird too; how professor will prepare a exam for their student 8 times especially the written ones.
For God sake , you are a medical student,a future doctor being responsible for patients life. You should attend every single class. Nobody should be there to convince you to do it.
Is attendance enforced at Sapienza at 66 percent? or they dont care if i study alone and dont attend classes, because i have a side business and want to maximize time efficiency
Great video! I have a few questions, 1 - How many oral versus written exams do you get on average? Are there a lot more oral exams than written in most Italian medical schools? 2 - If a student already has a bachelor's degree from the US, do they get to "skip" any semesters/years or do they still need to do the full 6 years of the program? 3 - Do you know of any free resources that you think would be helpful for a beginner learning italian?
Generally all schools are oral heavy especially in later years. They might get to skip some exams depending on how much of the syllabus overlaps for the number of credits, it's decided by professors individually. Unfortunately I do not, but I have heard of something called the refold method that's meant to be effective and free if that might be something you want to check out
Hey, I have few questions.. 1) how do the professors teach? I mean can we understand what they are teaching? 2) do they teach in Italian language? 3) u once said in u r video that u r in 5th year of medical and u don't know how to take blood!! Can u advice us for how should we learn all those practical things at right time but not late!!? 4) Is Sapienza University good for medical?(or would u suggest any other University)? 5) is there not even one medical University where everyone follows same text book?
1) Yes 2) English 3) You can request practical experience, if I wanted to I can go to the hospital and ask them to teach me 4) Sapienza will always be my top choice for medicine 5) It depends on the professor not the medical school
I’m going to do the imat next year , What happened if you failed in the exams on date that you scheduled, I can doing other exam like retest in the same year just different date or I need to wait until the next year? Thank you I was very very scared about it ☹️
It is not allowed to record an exam, but you can after the exam definitely collect the questions into a word document to share with the rest of your course :)
It really depends on a lot of factors, especially now in the age of online courses, how many people there are in the class, what time it's at, where it's located etc. I would say though in a group when you purchase a course that lasts a couple of weeks, classes will work out to be 7-8 euro an hour maybe (this is not certain, just from what I remember when I did classes 3-4 years ago)
I am from Nigeria which is non EU country so my question here is how I will take my imat exam its online or not please I need your help I have no idea about it thanks
