In this video, I will show an aerial view of the medicine wheel at Nose Hill Park in Calgary, Alberta.
I will also show a portion of the landscape leading to another wheel using panning and orbit technique.
Here’s a brief description of this video.
The Siksikaitsitapi Medicine Wheel in Nose Hill Park poignantly captures this sacred site’s historical and cultural significance. The Medicine Wheel stands as a powerful tribute to the ancestral connections between the Blackfoot people and the area now known as Calgary. As a symbol of Blackfoot territory, it served as a ceremonial space where offerings were made to the Creator, reflecting the community’s deep sense of stewardship and relationality with the land. The wheel’s design, viewed from above, underscores its role in maintaining these vital spiritual and cultural practices, highlighting its enduring legacy and the profound relationship between the First Nations Peoples and their traditional lands.
