To clarify any possible confusion about the floors: (I tend to use British English, so the floors are described differently than in America) 1. Ground floor 2. First Floor 3. Second Floor 4. Third Floor

When I first moved to Australia from the U.S.A., I had an appointment with an employment agency, located, I was told, on the second floor. I could not find it! Love from Liz and Ginger in Australia.

@@lizj5740 I was wondering then...when you are in a lift (elevator) in america, what numbers do you have on the buttons there? Is it still 0 for the ground level or do you just have 1 for ground level is USA?
@lizj5740
@lizj5740 Год назад
@@APinchOfHistory Usually (assuming no basement or underground parking), the elevator buttons in the U.S.A. read 1, 2, 3, etc. In Australia, it is commonly G (for Ground), 1, 2, etc.

I find heavy stone buildings like this one incredibly charming. I would love to live inside such a building, but I know in reality it would be a nightmare to heat during the winter.

tower houses don't recieve enough attention. they weren't just built for nobles. rich merchants would have them too. they are fascinating structures. imo, the peak of practical stone masonry architecture for everyday living.

wow such a col video i come from the northwest of America. people in small towns would build round little towers in the middle of town to run and hid in. so small though with low entrances so you would have to be ducked down to get in as a defense system. normally 3 stories high

I love the castles meant for giants and how there is extra floors to the castle buried beneath the earth from the last mud flood reset. Just amazing. Our smaller sized people definitely didn't build these with the tech we had with our horses and buggies 🤣🤣🤣

That is NOT an polish nobleman but an german and the building is a german tower house. The writing on the fresco is german. That shows that this was part of Prussia and not Poland and the polish just stole the prussian lands. That is an german tower house and NOT an polish one. 50% of the polish territory belongs to Germany since the poles drove them out by murder and stole their land. The text on the frescos read like this (in german). From right to left. P.S. I sometimes correct the older late medieval german to more modern writing to understand the text better - sometimes I leave the original german medieval spelling as is. Sometimes I fill out the missing letters which are not hard to guess. "von ... wer ... gut gnädig uns elender worden" - from ... who ... well misericordial us poor has become. "Got tat uns milde barmherzigkeit endlose" - God did us mild misericordiality endless. "Der est von Gott welcher tut Gewicht" - Who is from God who does Weight. "Gott hat sich erkort wen sin zorn" - God has chosen when his wrath. There you have it. It is german and it proves it was in german posession and that land was german and not polish. The polish are famous to falsify history and to change history to their own advantage trying to eradicate all german roots and proofs there. Obviously since they stole 50% of their actual territory from Germany. It was all german back then as this painting from 1400 proofs. Most likely this tower fortress house was built against the unruly and unrestfull polish invaders who pressed at that time from the south to the north see against german prussian posessions. At that time the polish just moved into that region and came as invaders. Give back Prussia to the germans!

I already answered your other comment, so check out that response, but let me say this. Germans ruled Silesia from 1526 to 1945. That is already AFTER the Middle Ages and way after the Tower was constructed. Sure, the german language was prominent (look up my response under your second comment) by the Tower isn't Prussian at all. Also, I know it's not really exactly on topic, but Germans caused both World Wars and basically stole half of Europe and millions of lives. I don't want to shame Germans or anything but it's kind of weird in this context for you to be so bitter. What is more, I agree 100% that Silesia is traditionally a german region. It was under german rule for more than 400 years and then germans were forced to leave. But, first of all, it was the Soviet Union who came up with these borders not Poland itself. Secondly, today you have a great and more developed country than us and that's cool. I appreciate Germany! But what do you mean by "Give back Prussia to Germans"? It's not 1945 anymore, nowadays Silesia is completely populated by Poles. Also, in the course of the ww2 the fuckers called Russians/Soviets stole more than half of our traditional territories so yeah.

@@APinchOfHistory Polish history falsifying. Germans settled first at the shores in today Poland and as well the german empire half moon of West Preußen. That is german writing and language. My surname shows up in the prussian census of 1776 in both West Preußen and Ost Preußen. Like Wladimir Putin already said: Polish are treacherous scumbags and Geschichtsklitterer and history falsifyers from birth on. As a german I would not know if I would shoot the russians in the face or stab the polish NATO "allies" in the back. I am sure the polish know are trying to erase and destroy the german writing on the wall in order to eliminate some time witnesses.

@@APinchOfHistory Polish are considered by Bielorus and Ukranians as invadors. They did not invite you to come to Bielorus or Ukraine at the first place but you came uninvited as an unwanted guest who invaded those countries. Even Lithuania you stole a part of their territory when you had an alliance with them. The poles allways did one as a friend then turned around and snagged a piece of territory away from the others. Then they do ethnic cleansing and genocide to others and claim from then the territory usurpated and invaded as genuine polish territory. That the poles did from 1490 till 1730 when they got destroyed finally for the peace of the region. How do you think Duda will pay off these 1000 K2 korean tanks? Similar as Hitler, by invading Russia in this case snagg away a piece of Ukraine and squeeze it out economically. Thats how the poles are planning to pay off the new 1000 K2 tanks. Poland simply can not afford an standing army unless they invade some neighbours. As long there are Poles living no peace will be in the region. Poles are a recipe of desaster and eternal unrest as they where for Prussia. An eternal annoyance.

Tree roots can grow really wide and Deep. I think if it was ever to be removed it would have a long time ago. But a tree that large would likely risk major damage to the castle if it was removed. So it may be better to leave it alone.
