Hey Nas, I used the crop plots a bit for measurements, but you took it to a whole new level man. Thank you so much, really great and I'm going to use this a lot for city planning. I wrote it down because pausing video every time became annoying. I thought others might find it useful too, so I added it below. Keep up the good work. Not all heroes wear capes! Thanks was about to pause video then decided to check comments for this comment. Also, great video Nas for the breakdown and taking the time to calculate and do the video.
Fast Build is just that, fast building. It has nothing to do with OPs suggestion of grid snapping. I love Enshrouded's building system. Medieval Dynasty definitely needs snapping and a grid, both of which need to be togglable.
I've had this game for a while, but have never played for more than an hour before rage-quitting because of how dumb my village was. I'm starting a new game now. This video had a lot of tips that, while simple, kept making think "oh sh*t, that's clever". Thanks!
Sewing hut is messed up. At one point I really wanted them to fix it but now if they did fix it I'd have to relearn how to place it. A detriment at my age

I love building in that area, though i tend to build closer to the creek and like squeezing it between the two roads. That spot is perfect though, close to so many towns, being close to equidistant to Gostovia and Denica is very helpful since those two towns have some of the best vendors. I love using the hill to clear cut efficiently. I'll cut a bunch of logs and when I get overburdened I drop a stack of logs and let it roll down the hill to my settlement.
Great guide, it must have taken some effort to put it all together. Goldie came good again I see, she is a real gem 💎 I don’t plan my village in straight streets but for districts and never have long straight rows. I grew up in a village and that one definitely grew organically . I prefer the atmosphere that this creates. That said, its very helpful to see how to make the fields and houses line up if you wish to do that.
Not sure I understand the full context behind what you are asking. I will try anyway.... Personally, I do not do much with Clay, but I do like to get to Iron which requires the Mine building built in a cave. However, it really depends on what you are wanting to do. Hope this helps.
I learned some nice tricks for building placements, the layout and planning things. I see this video was 2 years ago and I'm sure there's been a lof changes since then
You are a very good demonstrator. All my buildings are higgly-piggly. 🤣😅😂 . But I built on wonky land. It's my first couple of days playing though. Somehow my workers 3 of them are only 8% happy. I worked out if I click on the building sign I can do some things. It's not totally clear which is why I'm watching your uploads. Thank you so much.
There is nothing wrong with "higgly-piggly" 😁😁and in some situations it is neccessary. I have many tip videos in my Medieval Dynasty playlist which you can find here bit.ly/3OmMmUB Also, if you have not seen it yet. My season 5 playthrough (which I am currently recording for) can be found here bit.ly/3QOqrXW feel free to join my discord and share your Medieval Dynasty journey Thank you for watching
I was placing fences to square and lay things out. Never thought of this and glad I came here as it's a good tip. Wish they would have some surveying function to determine distance and degree....
I'm free form with my village building the only time there is rhyme or reason is if I am building a mining camp or a lumber/ excavation camp. The only thing I did was make my cross roads running through the village first. I didn't use the fields to dictate alignment and I put sitting area's / camp area's / props to fill in little spaces.
I do kinda wish they had a bit more to do or discover or even a fantasy version or mod I also wish the village could be set up with a robo mayor and that you could do stuff (jobs) as needed.
One of the things I love about this, the plots help me see whats in the way of the building I want to build. This has really helped me reduce digging up trees that I didn't need to.
Not saying this method is perfect, but you only use the faring plot to gain a layout or get straight lines. Once you have your plan laid out, you can replace the farming pots with Paths to mark future areas. This is strictly meant to be used as a tool to help a player layout their village and as long as you don't assign something to plant, the most your farmer will do is fertilize the plot.
@@HecticNasariI had this happen yesterday. I got my first building placed and was starting on a 2nd, when I heard hoeing behind me. My field hand had hiked 1/3 the way across the map to start working plowing up my grid. Annoying, but kinda funny.
Im at my year 2 i have unlocked most of the buildings and yet my town is not that good. But what i like about it is where close w each other. However right now i feel like i have changed my mind and wanted to make much more of the land im with the same loc as yours and the terrain is a problem to me h
Nice video mate. I was just wondering with regards to build limit do they limit the amount of one build you can have (e.g multiple smithies or taverns) or are you free to have as many as you want aslong as it is with in the top build limit overall?
As far as order, the starting quest line gets you going. House, workshop, resource Storage, Hunting lodge. Beyond that make sure you have a food storage before bringing in villagers. After that it really depends on what you want from your village. Barn for crops and animal food. Animal buildings if you are going to raise animals. Fishing hut if you want to do fishing stuff. Mine if you want iron. There really isn’t a step by step building order. Basically just build what you need. You can follow any of the Series I have done to see what order I build buildings. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and the comment.
Its cool to experiment it this way. Never bothered to do that. I place it on feeling. I have my building settings on 200% I can do it in my new settlement in my saved world. Love it when the game keeps expanding with new features. And still I havent discovered half of the map (outside places)
Damm gonna have to watch this again my brain got fried 😅 do you have a how to get good villagers vid ? Also love the factor u still reply to old vids most don't happy you do annnnnnnnd subscribed
@@HecticNasari your welcome,i still got a pretty good idea and already built a semi decent village because of your video so thanks man I appreciate you
LOL, not sure if this is suppose to be a dig, but just to be clear. I as an American, typically do not build in grids. If you have watched any of my Season 1 - 6 playthroughs, you would know this. I created this guide, because of how many comments I was seeing for people wanting to know an easy way to plan their villages and "Yes" a grid pattern helps some people see the future of their village before they actually can build the planned buildings. Also, not sure making this a cultural thing is the right idea either. There are plenty of towns and cities around the world that use the grid pattern, not just America. This is because the grid pattern is a tried and true method for city planning and can be very efficient.
Dude, with this much extra work during the game's era, you'd have been burned for witchcraft. Isn't the point of mediaeval times is that it's primitive, things are made out of necessity, and you improve as your dynasty grows? We aren't building the pyramids out here.
Medieval ages came after the pyramids and math was most definitely still around. Larger cities existed and definitely had planning involved. You can wing it OR plan it. Hell, even the creator states he doesn't do this technique, but it IS useful information. Some people, can't see past their own noses.
after playing for a while, i do not see any value in for having settlers at all...you get no XP for any of their actions...and if you can't form an army over time and take over the map it's a waste of time creating a dynasty....
Thank you for sharing your thoughts about the game. However, your statement about not getting xp from villagers is incorrect. You do get Tech points from villagers actions, however, it is much lower than if you performed the actions yourself. Now for your comment about the game being a "waste of time if you can't for an army and conquer the map". No, you can not form an army to conquer the map and the game description does not mention that you can do that either. So, it sounds like you expected something more out of this game than what was described. Will they add the ability to build an army? Probably not the devs have talked about this in a Q & A many updates back. They mentioned that the map size does not support that kind of game play and this falls along the same lines as why the game will probably never be multiplayer as well. I hope this cleared up some of your concerns and if this is not the game for you, then I wish you Happy Hunting in your search for a game that has your required expectations. 🙂
@@HecticNasari so you really never know if you have won...it's basically build until you run out of space...with Dynasty in the title i guess i was expecting more like a Civ #...
