I was listening to this in the office in the City of London but I just had to shut the computer down and walk in the small church yard outside with its trees. Except the yard seemed to go on a lot further than I thought, and at the end were some thatched cottages and peasants herding pigs and goats. They marvelled at my strange black attire but i dare no0t tell them of the glowing box the size of a goose with all worldly wisdom inscribed inside, and also my smaller glowing box, the size of a gooses egg, upon which once by eldrich magick could you hear even acorss fo Frae Francia and beyond, was now more silent than the wild remote crossroads stake where they customarily bury witzards who talk of syche strange things.

Apparently even the web, which God details how to precisely create and manage in the Holey Babble - so we can more efficiently spread HIS TRUTH. Of course, they did not yet have God's favorite English bible, the King James version, sooo...not the correct one yet per today's fundamentalists. Progressive revelation, perhaps.

@fsdds1488
@fsdds1488 4 года назад
I would say its medieval inspired/theme music, for real historical medieval music you would have to look at reconstruction projects and surviving pieces, collections such as Libre Vermell de Montserrat, Cantigas de Santa Maria, you never look at modern composers for historical music, which is straight impossible. Also, one has to notice the difference between versions as the interpretation and liberty taken by the performers are vary, to my own experiences there are more people taking a rather liberal approach with infused rock elements in French and German music from high medieval ages, this trend is relatively rare in early medieval reconstructions as they are unheard of to many musicians today, examples like "Ai vis lo lop" and "Miri it is while sumer ilast" is the best example of such approach available on RU-vid, this is possibly because of the form of music, Cantigas and Libre Vermell are court music that usually doesn't draw much attention form folk metal bands, thus fewer modern reinterpretations.

Finally! Some authentic medieval tunes of that era. No Fantasy RPG, battle fantasy music tunes. Listening to this while reading books about that time really captures your imagination of the medieval world. Much as I dream of living medieval, it actually was a terrible time to live under the feudal system. Diet,nutrition and healthcare of that time was bad. If you pop a pimple and it gets infected - you are pretty much RIP.
@spmoran4703
@spmoran4703 2 года назад
I agree with every word that you wrote . We still look at history through Rose coloured spectacles . And the modern Medieval and Celtic music definately does not sound like the traditional , it has electric instruments and talks about the fairies at the end of the wood . That was often not the case with the real music.
@stephenhoward6829
@stephenhoward6829 2 года назад
For what it is for, the "Fantasy RPG, battle fantasy music" is fine, background music for gaming, where you are more concentrating on the game and what everyone else is saying. For pure listening, or, for reading/studying, THIS is the correct choice. There is a place for everything, it is up to us to know what is best for our "Place" of-the-moment.

Forse quel periodo storico è più apprezzato da noi che lo sognano che da loro i quali lo vivevano. Io lo adoro

I wonder why these times are so fascinating. They evoke history, the past. Especially in the uncertain days of the modern world the Middle Ages are almost comforting.Thank you for this music

Yes, the music is beautiful and kind of taking us back to "better" times . But i prefer to not live in a time where a simple appendicitis put you to death ...And that list goes on and on...

@@pub652 Hello Elisabeth. Indeed life was short nasty and brutish and ... well people lived closer to the land, and there was calm within the burhgs.. but they also washed once a year, no laws protecting anyone....and at 40 you were a senior! There are romantic aspects which the romantics revived if I am not mistaken?

Modern Westerners traded the soul of their civilization for material possessions and knowledge. As a result the art and music suffers, only a deeply religious people are capable of creating and appreciating beautiful art. Same goes for the architecture back then vs now.

and they were happier back then precisely because they had other things that gave them meaning and purpose, something modern people lack, despite more material abundance.

Reincarnation is a process in the evolution of the soul. Christianity removed this important bit of information in order to regain control of the masses. Yes, Jesus had many incarnations before he became enlightened .

Technical note: The female singers in "Dies Irae (Sequentia) - Aurora Surgit, Alessio Randon" are very distorted (sounds like clipping) on the forte passages, first audible (painfully) at 14:32. Occasionally the men also distort on loud passages, but it is most noticeable and painful when the women are singing loudly. It's a beautiful piece, and it's a shame to ruin it.
