K Snow not really, you Arsenal fans think you're so hard done by your owners, try getting sued by your chairman! You lot don't realise how easy you've got it
Maldini actually said "if I have to make a tackle then I have already made a mistake". That means that positioning, cutting passing lanes and marking is far more important then making tackles.
+Adam Surdek I love that quote although I heard it slightly differently, something like "A good defender doesn't need to tackle". But yeah, tackle is recovery. Meaning there is a mistake to recover from (bad positioning, conceding ground etc)
+READ AND THEN DELETE ME If I am not mistaken Xabi Alonso said that about Maldini. Interestingly Alonso said also, that tackling should be a last resort, defenders need to know how to tackle but tackling is not a quality that one should aspire to. Maldini through his career was making 0,5 tackles per game and someone who understands football, will know that this shows how great he was and how rarely he was making mistakes.
We need to get rid of Xhaka, Sanchez and Ozil and replace them via defensive midfielder, an actual rock solid defender, Mahrez and Lemar. I’d even take a punt on Barkley. Arsenal are a joke at the mo!
Wengerball is dead. Its finished i havent seen it in years. Im sick of hearing 'were suppose to be a top team' sadly we are not. We are a upper mid table team now. 5th-8th is our league position 😔😔😔
Vincent 5 points from 3rd and like 8 points from 2nd that's still alot of points to make up and it's not even Christmas also 19 points of city. The only position i see u fighting for is 4th spot with 4 other team trying to get it 2
That's the most painful part for me , Leicester were struggling in relegation just a month ago and now they are 4 points behind us . If that can't prove to you that Arsenal are shit and Wenger is stale milk , then you need medication .
You just recall what happened, you add no insight into it - Leicester were meant to compete, what about the ru$sian-terr0rist's conspiracy that robbed and ripped the heart out of the 2016 Champions - daylight robbery
You can't say it's foreign and all that when tottenham has plenty of English talent, playing away all season, but poch is a great manager unlike wegner
DT is absolutely right about Özil. The amount of space Özil creates and his teammates don’t use is insane. He doesn’t get the credit he deserves. Özil is a player who can’t carry a team but if he plays with good players he is the best playmaker in the world.
Whatever DT says is correct because he tells it how it is and we need more people like him in this overly sensative society we live in. The Season has been shit - just like last the last, and we will probably (just) miss out on top 4 with Alexis gone (and probably Özil too)
Its amazing to see the progress DT is making from week to week. Last podcast he opened up and showed his sensitive side. When he gets released after his sentence I think he will become an upstanding member of society
brian awuor A few years ago he battered 3 tottenham fans who were talking shit about Wenger and put them in the hospital with one of them sustaining life threatening injuries. Ever since the incident he has blamed Wenger for all his legal and emotional problems... Thats why he is so vehemently " Wenger Out " These sessions with Robbie are a work release program designed to teach DT how to manage his anger and handle himself in public when he gets released. Anytime you see DT getting interviewed in public there are officers off camera waiting to take him back to his cell.
brian awuor Its all part of the work release program. They let DT do those vlog videos and interviews under close supervision as a way for him to practice his communication skills so when he gets out he isnt always arguing and fighting with people. In my opinion, Robbie and AFTV are not getting the credit they deserve for the community outreach they are doing. Ty was homeless before AFTV was founded and Robbie got the club to donate clothes to him from the shop. Thats why TY always has team gear on. Its all really amazing to be honest.
It's not worth the stress lads . Spend weekends with ur families , knock back a cold one and relax . Appreciate the things that matter . Players & Managers get paid regardless of the results . Same old "Arsenal" story for years , if this was a tv series it'd get cancelled by now .
I think Ozil has also been one of our best players this season. And he’s done that with not a lot to offer from other players. Lacazette seems to be the only player on his wavelength and he’s left on the bench half the time. And Alexis has pissed off and gone rogue. I don’t think it’s fair comparing him to players like Messi, Ronaldo, Suarez, Neymar and what not, cuz he’s not that type of player. But what he is, is the best creative footballer on the planet (bar messi) and he’s been wasted at arsenal. I think that even if you took Ozil out of the team that played against west ham, and you put in De Bruyne or Silva in his place, they would have the same problems he’s having and would also get ridiculed just as much as he does, because the arsenal team just does not get the beat out of him. I would rate him 7/10.
Aidan Belcher I agree. You don't need to run past defenders and score tonnes of goals to be a world class player and it seems like that's what ppl expect of him.
I agree with Robbie. Ozil doesn't raise the boats like other players...Neymar, Messi or Ronaldo but he's getting paid like them. Sometimes he looks great and sometimes you wonder if he's even in the game. I don't know...maybe Arsenal should start wearing the German national team kit then maybe Ozil will play up to his pay rate.
TheMasterCylinder those players get paid a lot more than Ozil, but still Ozil is paid a lot i get that point. But he makes a huge amount of chances, and as soon as he does something wrong a lot of people blame him. I personally think he has proved himself enough times and should be treated with a lot more respect than what he gets.
DT backs Ozil the same way Robbie backs Iwobi. Ozil is under rated. His touch is always on point, and although it doesn't look like it, he works hard for the team and tracks back well. Iwobi doesn't have a great touch but he always tries hard and you have to respect that too.
Arsene Wenger has become the Robert Mugabe of Africa. His tactical approach to football is obsolete. With a modern coach, current Arsenal players can win the EPL.
no one deserves an 8 m8 =) but seriously, if one of them (the 8's) scored in a 1-0 Winner, you say they'd be getting a 9 or 10(+) or something? for beating WHUnited 1-0????? Na, not in my books sorry fella!!
I really want players that are runners off the ball aswell as good dribblers. Guedes, Werner, Coman, Richarlison, Thauvin, Maxi Philipps type of players. Mahrez/Fekir type aren't my preference but i'd still welcome them
Iwobi is not committed to arsenal. Look at Henry or Walcott or fabregas or hleb at that age. Don't make no excuses age has nothing to do with his performance. When he wears the nigeria kit he is a different player
ROBBIE, Ozil isn't Messi. He can't dribble past 7-10 people. He is about passing, and getting into good positions. Basically he makes a good team better, and not a bad team better.
Iwobi is not good enough! He's shocking! I don't know why no one other than DT and Claude will criticise him. He is useless and is no where near the standard for Arsenal
he doesn't play that well! you are talking like when he plays with switzerland he is ablsulte class or something lool !!! He is a good player, anywhere near the level of top teams like arsenal should be.
Because he has lost the plot. I personally want Giroud alongside Lacazette because Giroud plays amazing with another striker alongside him instead of a clueless lone man upfront. We cant play 4-2-3-1 because we dont have a good player who is a natural right sided player/winger.
Robbie get it in your head Iwobi is better off at bloody Stoke. He is not in the class of Lungberg, Vierra, Parlour I can go on....... We are where we are bcoz we have palyers like Iwobi.
I don't understand how you can not rate Ozil but believe Iwobi should start, only if Arsenal aspiration is to be mid-table. Where is the aspiration? I expect Arsenal to challenge for league title and expect high quality players in ALL positions. Players like Ramsey, Walcott, Iwobi, and Xhaka don't make the grade and should not be on Arsenal. Time to improve the team.
Kay Akhtar Burnley is a threat to at least 3 of the big 6 its not just an arsenal issue ur comment is shit i bet u havnt even seen the table just read comments
TuBZ100 YM i agree with you Liverpool arsenal and Tottenham need to fear Burnley cuz slip up from the big team and they can steal 4th spot and don't rule out Leicester
Kay Akhtar if that’s the case, then the only top clubs that don’t have to fear them are the 2 Manchester’s... drawing points with spurs and Liverpool, and only 4 points behind Chelsea. You kind of people are not giving Burnley the credit they deserve, and it’s making you delusional.
Comparing city's 19 points difference is too illogical at times.. We must remember that city is at the level of madrid, barca at the moment , one of the very best in Europe not just England, they are spanking leaders of other leagues too, very strong contender for UCL as well and probably on the verge of being next invincible.. Hence comparison with them is like expecting things like Leicester winning league every year... Or after looking at Leicester's success, Watford or Sunderland starts to think that they shall win league henceforth...it's inappropriate at times.. If you want to compare, then a much more sensible and realistic reference would be man united
BADAL SONAWANE I know but I think it’s to do with the fact that city are doing something whereas we haven’t moved on from 4-5 years ago. When was the last time we even challenged for the league title over the span of 38 games?
LCPD9111 oh cmon mate.. Of course we are doing something.. We are working very hard to be average..😂😂 4-5 years !??.. We've been shit for a decade now mate..😭
BADAL SONAWANE I know but at least 4-5 years ago we used to play decent football and could break teams down still shit but we could do that at least. Now we can’t even do that
The team just needs more love in themselves and each other, the opposing teams, the game itself, and of course for the people. This is all the connection one person needs to have others feel this vibe and from there you have something truly special.
DT has got a point in people scapegoating Özil, Robbie said “ever since that Man City game he has stepped up” I disagree - Özil has created chances for our attacking players all season, it’s not his fault that the other players can’t convert those chances to goals. Before the game against Man City Özil and De Bruyne were neck to neck in chances created even though Özil didn’t play as many games as De Bruyne. That clearly shows that Özil has done his job and shouldn’t be held accountable for the inefficiency up top.
Robbie.. About Ozil , remmber whene ozil make 21 or 22 As in one season , cus some good player arund him.. Like Santi.. Not like Ramsey or xhaka. Ozil need one play with brain.. not player run like idiots or give a way ball etc...
Robbie, you don't understand the type/role of Mesut Ozil. He is not a Messi or Neymar style of player. He is more Iniesta or Xavi style. He needs player around him. Link up play maker but no one to link up with on Arsenal. Arsenal is poor and poorer without Ozil.
There is no excuse for not scoring goals, ZERO EXCUSE Whatever you say, he is still a trademark forward player who does not like backtracking, so the onus is on him to deliver in other areas as much as He can. Please stop buying into the Goalshy loser-mentality of post2005 Wenger
Hi Robbie I feel that this season the main problem that has unsettled the whole team has been the uncertainty over Ozil/Sanchez future at our club, and this uncertainty has destroyed the unity it was briefly restored when Kolasinac and Lacazette joined us but with the ongoing nonsense being caused by the two of them it has broken the team spirt.
We should get used to it. This is not something new! This happens every season(already 10 years). Wenger is a stubborn and got the same excuses every year. He and those headless American owners are destroying the most decorated club.
The comment about the fans having just accepted we're stuck with Wenger for the time being and kind of just half-heartedly waiting it out and hoping something better happens for the club after is extremely relatable. I find it so hard to watch the side at the moment. We're a top 8 side.
Honestly what can Ozil do with Giroud, he needs pace around him ffs so he play balls in behind. Ozil leaving will open up so many arsenal fans, legit Arsenal had class and wasted 4 years only to keep giroud on when its been too late they get the right player.
I always wanted Giroud to play with another striker like he does in France. Always brings the best out of him but for some reason , Wenger only wants one player upfront. His best years were when he played Bergkamp with Henry. We are an attacking team , we dont need 3 at the back !
Cech; Bellerin, Koscielny, Monreal, Kolasinac; Xhaka, Ramsey, Wilshere; Ozil, Sanchez; Lacazette. 4321/433 with Sanchez and Ozil drifting in that space between the opposition's defence and midfield. Runners from midfield. Overlapping full backs.
I think one thing that many are overlooking is that City are on a historic run. Yes we are 19 points behind, but 19 points behind a team that has only dropped 2 points all season, which is unusual. The gap between us and 2nd isn't as dramatic. That said, it's pretty disappointing. Burnley have scored half as many goals yet have more points, which goes to show that proper coaching and determined players can go a long way.
who are these "world class players you have" ??? ozil and sanchez thats it, saying your team is better then leicester ?? not a chance, your "team" is not a team , at least leicester is a TEAM, ARSENAL ARE THE MOST OVER RATED CLUB IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE , arsenal have this thing of " we are a huge club" NO ONE BELIEVES YOU #MUPPETS
My ratings so far for the starting 11 would be : Cech : 5.5 Bellerin : 5 Koscielny : 5.5 Mustafi : 6 Monreal : 7.5 Kolasinac : 7 Ramsey : 6.5 Xhaka : 3 Özil : 6.5 Sanchez : 5 Lacazette : 7 Most people rate Bellerin and Sanchez way lower. I think people forget that Bellerin was one of our best players in september and october, even though he's been dreadful before and after that period of time. As for Sanchez, you can't rate him according to his standards, he's good enough that even playing his worst he's better than Iwobi for example.
Darren Ball yeah im just curious since i the last one i see so much toxic comment since the early part is about the mu shit and i thought did they do not hear the through vid lol but nice man👍
It's not black and white Robbie! Ramsey is not a box to box midfielder, he's an attacking centremidfielder. Always talking as if there's only one type of player in each position and that everyone should be playing the same way...
Spot on review of the season, and that comment about Wenger ruining players is not funny because it’s very true. Wenger’s performance over last few years makes one even have to reconsider just how good he was in the first place. Also Have to agree with DT about Ozil, I hope we don’t loose him, Sanchez can go but we need Ozil. In the past I could not stand the guy, however now I understand what he brings to the team - without Ozil Arsenal become even more stale and predictable.
DT is right. Conte, benches Luiz. Pep, kicks out Hart, benches Aguero. Poch, benches Sissoko. Jose, benches Mkhi and benched Shaw until he started performing. Wenger just doesn't do that.
