i would like better if they allow random fans to do it, like in ultimate alience, since movie actors sound like they dont give six f's about it and just that they get the green check.
I'm kinda feek attack cause i only played this when i was a kid. I don't have a phone back then and my family computer is not too strong but can still played old 3d pc games
When i was a child, about 10 years old. my parents couldn't afford a ps2, I had this scavenged frankenstein-build PC made from leftovers of my dads pc and donated spare parts, and I remember playing Spiderman 2 on the PS2 at a friends house; It was amazing; I fell in love with that game; went over to play it as often as He'd let me; scroll on 3 weeks and he moves away; I (a child at the time) am going into withdrawal; I beg my dad to find a PC version of that game after hearing rumours from a school friend, My Father; not particularly into video games, much less spiderman; proudly hands me THIS on my 11th Birthday he helps me get it running on my janky ass windows 98 homunculus of a PC and leaves me to play I play; Filled with joy I see the main menu... I hit start and from then onward I experience in this order: Confusion and Denial, the fuck is this, this isn't right, maybe its just a bonus demo before the real game starts Guilt, knowing my father had gone out of his way to find a copy of this (we lived in a small town) and I had begged for it for months, this HAS to be the right one! Anger, why would somebody make this when the other one... why does it have the same name... Bargaining, maybe i can trade it for the ps2 version and make that work on pc... somehow Sadness, there's no hope. I never quite got over that crushing disappointment. And i never got my hopes up again the end.
Awwwww 😞 I was kinda the same, with the difference that nobody I knew owned any console other than the NES, and I still ha ent played the actual decent version of this game.
Same happened to me for the web of shadows on ps2 bc i watched alott of videos of the ps3 version and during that time my little mind didn't know there'd be different versions of the same.game When i played i was like whaaaat the
Oh man! I was at your panel and got so hyped when you said you were going to play this! Thank god your flame spewing power computer has a disc drive so you could play this version!
Oh Spider Man 2 PC, I remember how my dad bought it for me instead of an Xbox version since it was a lot cheaper, I was around 8 years old at the time and actually liked it, still thought that Spider Man 2000 (The Dreamcast one ported to PC) was a lot better, but enjoyed it and even replayed it a couple of times. Imagine my surprise when I first got the internet and saw everyone praising Spider Man 2 as a revolutionary game, how it had open world and great web swinging, and I got really confused since I remembered the fixed web points, small locations and linear story, and all that open world stuff for me was first introduced in Ultimate Spider Man (Which is an amazing game by the way), and then I went to look up the gameplay of Spider Man 2 to refresh it in my memory, saw how it played on consoles and... Well... Needless to say my disappointment was immeasurable and my day was ruined. Playing the proper Spider Man 2 now is kinda bittersweet.
Exactly!!!! I was like what? Do these guys even know how good Spiderman 1 on the PC was? 2 is an unmitigated disaster! Why do people praise it? And then 2 yeas back I learned that there was a much superior PS version 😞
6:07 so the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy is connected to The Sky High universe, this proves that Coach Boomer exist in the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man. He fu**ing drops shit at superpowered human.
Here's a fun fact: This is one of the only games I had when I was young and because of that I beat this game 34 times. No I'm not joking or exaggerating. 34 times. I think I would some times beat it 2 times a day.
Sometimes I like to go around RU-vid watching people discover this version of the game I didn't know any better at the time, only had a PC and wanted games for it. So I bought some Tycoon games, Shrek 2 and Spiderman 2 I swear I loved every single one of these games and I never minded the limitations they had, even though I'd get stuck in confusing stages. In this case, Mysterio, took me a long time to get past him for a number of reasons, but I still loved the stages, ironically, for being open like the PS2 version is
"By the way Spiderman, have you seen my nephew Peter? He's about your height, your physique, has the same voice as you and always seems to have a weak bladder right before criminals show up..." "I, uh, I'm sure he's fine."
Wow, the PC version is WAY different from the console versions. Spider-Man's mouth doesn't even move when he talks. That said, I also think you should play Web of Shadows soon. It's pretty awesome!
This game looks like it was made in the same engine as that Hobbit game from the early 2000's. Edit: Huh... Did some research. Back before Activision absorbed Vivendi this was their in house engine. Fizz Factor also handled the port for the Hobbit game as well. So I'm assuming that's why they used it. It certainly wasn't built for Spiderman, but it was cheap as free.
Spider-Man 2 PC is actually running on the Unreal Engine 2, which makes it even sadder considering it came out the same year as Unreal Tournament 2004 and Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow.
as a not so proud owner of this train wreck back in the day, and not knowing it had diferent versions, i actually had a hard time understanding why everyone loved the spiderman 2
Yep, this is the one I played... With the Simon Says puzzles and all. 10 years later I heard people talking about how good the spider-man 2 game was and learnt that I got the short end of the stick. At least I got the good ports for the Harry Potter games. Good old times, when you had 3 ports for the same game and they were all completely different.
how does fake Tobey Maguire manage to sound so uninterested in literally everything. I've both seen and been in middle school plays with more vocal emotion
this is actally the version i had growing up as i didnt have a ps2 at the time but was a HUGE spiderman fan, i did know of the great console versions though because of friends and i played them for myself eventually, man i still cant believe i beat this game... but i guess thats what ids do with all the time they have lol also i think catching the escaped criminals was a side mission
Yeah, I heard this was good back whennit had just come out. Then I played it and it was terrible. Thought people had really bad taste. Found out around 2 years back that the PS one was really good and not at all like the PC version that I played. Still surprises me though. How different could the PS version have been? Edit: Yeah this was where I had given up on the game too. Exact same level.
Okay guys. I haven't watched the video yet. I'm willing to bet my unborn child's college tuition Matt is going to play the PC version of Spiderman 2 Edit Damn you to inferno Matt.
For the time, this may have been the worst superhero game on PC. And definitely the game with the biggest drop in quality from console to PC. ...And then Batman: Arkham Knight came out.🤦♂️
