I don't have the Fuji, but I do have the X2D and 55v. The 55v is almost too sharp on portraits. You get every pore at 100Mp! Even wide open at 2.5. I love the manual focus clutch, and that it has focus ranges printed, it feels both new and like a throwback lens at the same time. The size and weight are perfect as well. The combination is only slightly longer and taller than my Leica Q3.
Yes, if Fuji comes out with a compact GFX camera that is closer to a full frame rangefinder body, I would definitely give the system another look- imagine if the X-Pro 4 had the GFX sensor in it!
It hasn't been fully resolved to my satisfaction, but it appears the situation has improved- Hasselblad never admitted it as a known issue. However, I was just in Samy's LA flagship store and the copy they had in stock had neither the lens wobble or dead pixel issue. Greg, the EXCELLENT MF sales guy there, said that the last few copies they have gotten in did not have these issues (he was also extremely helpful in confirming that the Hassy system is right for me, and neither Fuji nor Phase One were ever going to work as well for my artsy, [usually] assistant-less use cases). So I think Hassy has fixed it, but I still think we should be wary of buying used versions as I think the first few runs were plagued with quality control hiccups. I am on the prowl for a used X2D, but you can be sure I will test it out for the lens wobble and dead pixels before I plunk down my cash on that particular camera! I'm super happy with the 907x 50c II at the moment, so it's much easier to wait until the non-wonky versions are readily available used for around $6-6.5k! I've seen one or two come up on B&H for that price, but hesitated because they get shady about returns for items that expensive. Hoping one will come up for that price at a more reputable retailer or one local to me.
@@MarcAdesso Thanks for the detailed response! the Hassy images you took just seem to be more naturally pleasing compared to the fuji...subtle maybe but it does feel different.
I have been thinking about an x2d ever since the launch date. I did have an x1dii and loved it. But I switched to a Sony a7cr with gm 35mm f1.4, which I am really happy with. However I still miss that hassy color. I am tired of messing with raw files and applying profiles and tweaks. when I had the x1dii I never needed to do that. Part of me wants to go back and have that perfect color. I may rent one for a Colorado trip coming up and decide after that what to do. Thanks
well obviously if you dont care about shallow DOF shots, the Hassy is better coz its smaller. Heck you can say thr 50mm 3.5 Fuji is even better than all of em. SMaller and fast focus and cheap.
Definitely better I had gotten to the Fuji GFX system and returned it within three weeks just because I was told that the tilt/shift lens may be available in 2025 that is completely ridiculous. So I went with Hasselblad with no regrets. It is so light just love it way better and much lighter than my Sony A1.
I'm told you can adapt the H series tilt-shift adapter (H1.5) to the X2D by using the 0.8 speed booster. Of course, you would also have to buy some H glass, but the adapters used plus a non-orange square H lens might be slightly cheaper than buying either of the Fuji T/S lenses. I haven't tried it, but hear it works just great!
