I play world tour and there are an average of 10 mediums out of 12 players in each lobby. I’m one of them though because the revolver with a sight is unbelievably good

Yeah, right now it's overshadowing the revolver. The revolver should be the mid to short range skillcannon, meanwhile the Pike has almost double the damage per mag and range. The TTKs are quite close now, although the revolver still nukes mediums on headshots. Lower RoF would cement it as the longer range choice.

Agreed, and I honestly think the biggest culprit is the defibrillator. The guns are a touch over tuned atm but my biggest gripe has always been how insanely difficult it is to ACTUALLY take down the full team of 3

@@Killjoy.Zlike that idea.. maybe make heal beam medium equipment, and change it so it gives a faster one time boost of health to someone that has a slow recharge. Kind of like how lights use the taser.

The only The FInals meta commenter who's opinion I care about. Most of the others really don't play the game at a high level. I'd say its frustrating as heavy to have all my defensive options nerfed patch after patch to the point of being unusable (mesh shield), while OP offensive options like charge and slam and to a lesser degree winch are left untouched and now are the most played aspects of the class

Even as someone that plays all classes (and at a low level admittedly), I share the same sentiment with defensive options seemingly feeling nerfed almost like there's no tomorrow. I haven't found the mesh shield or dome shield to be as impactful back in Season 3 already yet somehow they still get nerfed even further. Goo gun is at least untouched for now and is an underrated spec for Heavy that can be situationally very useful, but that is about it.

@@SoLunxr Goo gun can slow down platform for retakes in power shift, block LOS especially for some tryhard CL40 users if you pace shooting it right, offer traversal at locations and create angles that might not be expected, create makeshift barriers (and combine with pyro nade/flamethrower for area of denial).. goo gun is the most creative for defense but I concede that Charge N Slam and Mesh Shield are more straightforward in what they do for the team first.

Defib needs to be able to be denied, light needs buffs, the pike needs less body shot damage and to reprioritize it into headshot damage instead of bodies where headshots are borderline optional. The 1887 at this point needs a 1 damage per pellet nerf, since embark refuses to rebuff many of the other ranged options despite releasing a weapon like the pike (no seriously, why introduce the pike if there is 0 interest in putting the other ranged options in a better place? Like the LH1 is still worse than s1/s2 and the xp was literally gutted out of existence leaving light with all mid options across the board, the revolver is still mid in most situations because of ADS bloom, various ADS movement inaccuracies, and a newly added buggy red dot). All in all, this season while definitely refreshing to see that we are not in HHM meta, is still APPALLING from a balance standpoint. There are 0 data driven and analytical decisions being made in regards to balancing and it shows. For me, I'm just frustrated because while yes, game balancing is hard but it's SOOOOO frustrating to see such blatant issues all around from the balance side of things. It's my biggest qualm with fps. Nobody even attempts to make things balanced anymore imo. Just casual engagement simulator.

@@radi534 yeah I seriously don’t get the sniper nerf at all. They justified it because it was too oppressive in quick play modes, but now it has 0 presence in mid-high elo at all. And truthfully I don’t even think it was actually that bad before. It could be annoying sometimes, but if you just stayed inside for the most part it would be fine.

I primarily play medium, but I play whatever is needed. I’ve always said that the defib is one of those gadgets that’s too powerful. I think changing it to stop the rez by shooting the figure as it’s being rebuilt will help stop the annoying chain rezzing happening a lot this season. This change would at least force teams to actually escape and hide to get it off, allowing everyone to reset for a fight instead of being low on health and dying because they had an extra rez with 50% health. Then the defib will be fine. (Also, the model only needs a wider spread no damage nerf, please! I don’t want another weapon dead like my Fcar)

I don’t play competitively so I’m not sure how good this suggestion is but I wouldn’t make the hologram vulnerable but just reduce the amount of health you have when you come back. I’d say the bigger issue is healing beam because it can negate any nerfing done to defib, whereas making the defib hologram vulnerable just makes it useless because in a gunfight it’s pretty easy to spray some gunfire at the holograms with how much they stick out. Like I said, not a comp player so take my words with a grain of salt but that’s my two cents

​​@@AMVaddictionistif you lunge dash at an angle when they shoot, they always miss (note that you can dash in any direction). Maintain momentum by sliding into the next lunge dash and they will be dead. If you get hit first, leave unless they are low HP and you can one tap

What i fundamentally dont understand about the Pike 556 is that it has double the shots of the revolver but kills all classes in a similar amount of shots with wayyyy more range than the revolver... just make it make sense, what do you think?

Regardless of anyones opinions on what’s op in this game, nerfs are the last thing this game needs. Nerfs almost killed this game in S3 I think we need a flurry of buffs that round out the options in the game instead of making things weaker/less fun

Unpopular opinion: Mesh Shield is a TEAM utility. Your supposed to be covering teammates so they can chill and aim, not yourself. Because its a TEAM game. Ever mesh shield your sniper on power shift? They love it. If this wasnt true then teammates wouldnt be able to shoot through them.

I'm a top 500 light who has been playing m11 cloak for past 4 seasons. It has never been so difficult to fight high elo teams. Previously you could play close range and even in shotgun meta you had a chance if you landed every bullet with your m11, but the pike is legitimately gameruining for light. Giving other classes range fundamentally kills the one strength light had (I dont even know if theres a real reason for light sniper to even exist anymore, given how strong the pike is). My main issues with the pike are the following: absolutely unreal good hipfire ( way better than lh1 for some reason and on par with xp 54, i dont know why this is the case and why the devs ignored it), and way too good of a ttk in close considering how insanely dominant it is at long range. It is also way too easy to use. I hope they do the following : fire rate nerf (the devs seem to push the idea that having close proximity innately should come with more damage, I agree) and a massive hip fire accuracy nerf ( in no world should someone be allowed to hipfire a dmr while strafing and not adsing, this runs completely counter to the only true real strength (and not meme strengths like gateway in comparison to how strong jumppad and zip are ) light has in high elo: speed (for duels and strafing). Thanks for an awesome and accurate video and especially the callout on the delusional power shift only players who think light is strong.

The addition of the career stats on everyone's player card is arguably my favorite addition this season. Being someone who has been around since the betas and have never dropped the game, I have about 19,000 career kills. It FLOORS ME to see someone with 70,000 career kills already. I know that they basically play all day everyday since launch but WOW is that just eye-opening. Nice to see them finally do something with badges. Also yea pretty lame the dev's basically made this game "The Mediums." The deagles are the most fun i've ever had in the game and have single-handily turned me into a heavy main. Sucks that the devs want everyone to just play medium i guess...

Ironically I almost think the deagles are somehow the best counters to the pike lol. Not always, but since they have a better rate of fire and practically the same range, I often out-damage pikes at a distance.

I really think the only way to fix the role dynamic is remove the Defib, and give it to the Light. Then Light has a reason to the work with the team, and stacking Mediums does not give you more "survivability" then bringing a Heavy. Still leaves Mediums with the Heal Beam and Jump Pad/Zipline, and some of the best weapons in the game. They could even trade something back to the Medium to compensate for this, like the Thermal Bore for some destruction beyond the Explosive Mine or Thermal Vision to counter Cloaked Lights. The Heal Beam and Defib combo is just too strong, and was only held off as the biggest issue in the game with Heavies being so busted for 3 seasons.

Not a fan of giving defib to light. I don't think that is a good idea because lights can already get away extremely easily and revive normally with dash and grapple. Make the defib a specialization for medium.

Honestly i wish there was a choice light could make to counter explosives, mines grenades Rpgs, nukes when the existed, the cl40, all just melt light at a more aggressive rate than other classes. If there was like a flak jacket piece of kit they could at least counter it to a degree while having to sacrifice some other piece of kit

Medium has best weapons, survivability, movement. Yeah, nerf heavy. There are some options that wasn't nerfed. Charge and slam, pyromines, sledgehammer, googun and akimbos of course Mediums are having bot behavior with defibs and heals at this point

They already got a health buff that feels like a massive advantage when you're a heavy trying to recharge your health. I've had to do over a thousand damage to kill a light because their health recharges so fast.

i think a quick health bomb or stem would be nice. give it like a 40-60s cool down make it viable for teammates too. imagine you stim your low health teammate for 20% of there health so it scales instead of low amount. 20% for light can be live or die 20% for heavy can allow them to win a fight or come back in for backup.

Thank you for explaining this CL-40/Pike meta.. I have over 800h in the game, most of which was S2-S3 as a med. I have since gone to light due to the sheer boredom of healing and defibing... The hardest weapons to deal with for me are the deagles and pike. I can normally out maneuver the CL players, but they present a challenge. V9S is really good right now and that's how I've been able to compete with the heavy-hitting weapons.

So, there's a really interesting dynamic going on. At casual levels of play, fighting a team of Lights, especially on Power Shift is one of the toxic ways to play due to lack of team coordination. Meanwhile, at higher levels of play, players are actually coordinating and staying together enough to nullify a Lights ambush. Embark needs to honestly slow the light class down, give it a bit more health and reduce a bit of the cheesey ass ambush gimics that are turning off new players in favor of ones that can help higher skill Lights compete at in higher tiers of play.

But in most instances if someone runs in front of you with just a defib out to revive someone you probably have time to beat their ass before the defib finishes and then you have a half hp target of 175 or less to deal with. It is certainly annoying but rambo defibs like that just result in giving you a free $500 just about as often as they result in your untimely demise.

They purposely nerfed the hell out of the RPG because it was a mandatory slot. I don’t see why this is any different if they’re trying to stop that. No one has ever told me they’re going to report me for throwing over the RPG. I get flamed any time I don’t bring defib on medium though.

in a medium-to-long range meta, sustain is king. as long as there are no competitive short range and disruption options, there's little reason to run anything other than healing beam.

I think the pike definitely needs a lower rate of fire. I’d be curious to see how it would be to split the healing beam and defib by giving the defib to light or heavy. Same with the two movement techs, maybe give zip line to heavy.

I think only the pike deserves an emergency nerf, other than that it would be nice to give some buffs to heavy after continuous nerfs and some very thought out buffs to lights so that it's not a repeat of lights pubstomping everywhere except ranked.

I am a casual light player and come up against teams with 2 or 3 CL40s. If I try to get close to them they can just shoot at the ground and insta kill me, they don't even need to get direct hits at all and I am just dead. It is so annoying to play against and I don't know how to counter it.

I'd suggest trying to approach from above and to keep your movement up - the projectile has a travel time. If you run Dash, you can juke out shots in a 1v1. If you're taking on a 1v2, you're kinda screwed no matter what weapon they have.

Finally someone realized medium is op. Just make the pike projectile over 20 meters, destroy heal and defib, fuck cl40 and the range of the ARs, and we good. Oh, and revert the stupid sniper change.

I really just feel like the cashout changes need to be re-evaluated and it is a shame we are stuck with this form of cashout for the rest of the season. I like kills being worth more but I think they can reduce individual kill count and instead put some of that money into the team wipe bonus. Maybe back to 250 for kills and then 1k for a teamwipe or something so that wipes that consist of 4 kills end up being worth about the same amount as the current system but the final wipe is what really matters. Also, idk I like the idea of plugs (why don't we call them inserts lol) being worth more so that fights over vaults actually feel important but 30% feels like too much. Maybe the real issue is that teamwipes only make you lose 10% though but either way I'd like either plugs to be worth 15-20% instead of 30% OR for wipes to lose teams 20-25% and then we can assess how things are at that point. For weapons/gadgets I'm sort of at a loss. I want the Pike to be adjusted and for maybe CL40 to get toned down a bit but outside of that I'm unsure what could "fix" the game. I genuinely felt like S3's balance was the closest to ideal that we had ever had in terms of class viability and S4 doesn't feel too far off of that. Lights being unable to buff without pissing off casuals really sucks and I really don't know what the class could be given to make them more relevant within their existing toolkit. It is disheartening that the class just kind of has to stay bad forever or be heavily reworked in fundamental ways to avoid endless bitching from people with no aim, game sense or ability to work together as a team.

i'm just tired of heavy being nerfed to the ground to the point where people only use the things that are left, I.E. Charge and deagles. No mesh, no winch claw, just charge and deagles, even when I see using the m60 I just focus them as the easier targets because the burst damage this season is way too easy.

Embark went in the right direction but over-tuned a lot of the balancing. I'd say to revert the xp nerf and instead reduce it's damage at range, and also reduce he nerf to the LH1. Keep the nerf to heavy mesh, but reduce the cooldown to like 2 or 3 seconds instead of 5.

I’m low elo (😢) and cl40 and Deagle really makes light hard to use. It’s really a damage problem. I can do crazy amounts of damage but not quick enough to their output unless they’re truly not paying attention.

It seems like the problem people have is that mediums can deal damage and also heal themselves. I think more attention should be given to healing and revival abilities rather than just focusing on the weapons. I personally feel like this is what's causing the big issue. Lights and heavies have some seriously powerful weapons, but they can't revive and heal their teammates like mediums can. With the Pike allowing mediums to attack from long range, they can now cover all fronts. If lights and heavies had their own ways of healing teammates, we would see more diverse team compositions. Mediums were the only ones with that ability, so when they got stronger weapons, it made them feel unstoppable. Can you really blame them though? They can bring their teammates back to fight against a team wipe. This has always been the meta, they just didn't have the firepower to make them feel even more dangerous until now. Ultimately, I'm sure they'll figure something out. Balancing is never easy, and there will always be ups and downs when trying to fix things. We've only had one small patch so far, so it's hard for me to draw any conclusions as the season just started and new weapons are always going to shake things up. I'd rather wait for further patches than make any judgments based on the beginning of a new season, as they're never perfect from the start.

I think maybe we should limit how the defibrillator is used, or make Light and Heavy stronger so they can compete with those using the CL40 and Pike instead of feeling like one is too powerful. But honestly, I don't think changing the weapons will make much of a difference if we don't handle the healing and defibrillator stuff, especially in tournament matches when facing a full team of mediums. Ultimately I would just want the other two classes to be able to bounce off the medium as best as possible that's why I event mentioned the healing or something healing like for those two as I do feel bad for mediums only being the only one to do such type of support. But I'm not sure nor do I think it would work but it's a fun idea. But even fun ideas can be bad ones I suppose lol.

If I were a highly talented game designer, it seems like one solution would be to add some very high skill floor + high skill ceiling light loadouts if that could be managed. That way, lights wouldn't get more annoying and oppressive in low-ELO, and they might just start to get viable in high-ELO. I'm probably stating something very elementary and obvious to experienced gamers, but I haven't thought much about these things before. Now, I'm going to go waste 15 minutes trying to think up such a thing only to come up empty. (I actually haven't been gaming for that long, so it would be cool if you had some examples of high skill floor + high skill ceiling mechanics that have been notorious in other games, as I would be genuinely curious.)

My friend and I were discussing spreading the heal support power to the other classes. Nerf the heal beam a bit more, then add some different heal options to Heavy and Medium. Stims, heal grenades, heal drones, etc. That way the total team healing can still be that high, but requires more people sacrificing gadgets/specializations, or you could have a different class be the healer. There's a lot of ~potential~ to swap roles with the current weapons and gadgets, but it's not quite there. Medium can sorta tank with riot shield or potentially dual swords, but it's weak with just melee. I think it's cool that the CL40 buff is making more Lights use Grapple (It's been fun) and I'm seeing more APS. Pike I feel should be geared towards long range and suffer up close. Hipfire, mag size, fire rate, maybe one of those weird Battlefield damage curves that starts low then increases to a peak then drops off again.

As a medium main (although I’ve been playing a lot of heavy this season lol) I agree that medium is too strong right now. I mostly think the pike is the main issue at the moment. It simply shreds too quickly at any range. That’s part of the reason that lights are having a tough time right now - although nerfing the sniper and the xp were HUGE mistakes too, as they would make it easier for lights to counter a bit better. I also like that you said the cl-40 is mainly an issue in low elo, because personally I view it as a free win at the moment whenever I see people using them. APS completely shuts them down and allows your team to pick them off real quick or at least get into a better position. I think the issue there again is that lights to SPECIFICALLY have a great counter to the cl-40. Heavy can goo or dome shield real quick, and medium can drop an aps, but lights mainly just have to find a way to retreat quickly either by dashing or grappling away which you can’t always do, and that’s why it’s tough. At the same time though, the cl-40 is currently the best way (in my opinion) to counter the sword which you don’t see too often, but is highly oppressive in the right hands. I also don’t think the cl-40 should receive a damage nerf, as making it more than a 3 shot against heavies would push it back into irrelevancy which is something I don’t think is good. Lastly, I’ve been seeing this going around a lot where people think the defibs should move to a specialisation, and I gotta say, that’s probably the best way to nerf mediums right now. I’m at the point - even as a medium main - where I think having a full team of healers AND revivers is too much when all three of them also have something as oppressive as the pike. If you were made to pick one or the other, not only would that make things more balanced in my opinion, but it would also open up way more interesting loadout option since defib wouldn’t be a crutch gadget anymore. I could run data reshaper/glitch mine/jump pad for example and just be able to shut down other people’s gadgets. That would be super fun. Anyways. I always enjoy your discussion! As far as the issue with pike I think that people shouldn’t be able to kill a light in three (body)shots I don’t think the pike needs any range nerfs considering it’s meant for a ranged play style but I do think that the hip fire needs to be changed or just the gun in general so that players can close the distance and then still have a chance to get the kill i’m not saying this is the perfect way to fix it I am not a developer I just don’t want the pike to be in a similar situation as the Xp54..I would love to hear other peoples opinions bc I would love some (supported) feedback:) also also I think a range nerf similar to what the sniper got would be good

I’m in gold right now. Double CL-40 + Heavy is pretty strong when my ping doesn’t skyrocket. (I’m in Australia so I have to play on Asia servers) I’ve been pretty decent with the Model since S2 so I’ve been trying to learn Pike, but I’m finding it really hard. Revolver has been my saving grace on Aisa ping since the AKM is now in the dirt.

I think the defib need a real nerf Fighting versus 3 medium with a defib is so strong and annoying Like you say you are fighting with a team with 1500 hp with constant healing instead of a 750 hp team My idea : When a medium is using it, it begin the cooldown for all the medium in the same team It would prevent the chain of 3 defib I think the defib on one medium is good Not op but not bad The fact that defib is op is caused by the chaining of 3 revive in 10s You are the last medium on the team and can be ready to fight back with 3 defib and heal beam, for me, way too strong This change would prevent this, but you can still play defib on one medium or 2 if you want in case of the one with defib is dead Dont know if it’s a good or a bad idea I would appreciate your feedback on this

1. I don't want a Hard Nerf to Medium but a buff to Heavy and Light. Another ex. I've seen a lot of crybabies complaining about CL, but they don't even know what an APS is (or haven't tried CL themselves other than quick cash). Counters and when to use them is key to win. 2. I touched Emerald 1 by doing the plug strat as solo Light. I was amazed no one would do this strat and I got harassed a lot even if I made clear I was playing for money. Fun fact: they changed the spawns (again :facepalm:) so now it is kinda hard to do this strat solo. 3. That's why I didn't like the nerf to the Glitch trap, it counters triple medium so well, the problem is that the ones with said gadgets are the mediums themselves 😅. 4. We kinda need a combat medic class, a character that can really alter the TTK mid fight, Medium isn't a support. 5. I played against you yesterday, you had bad luck and got eliminated in the first round in Kyoto.😢 I was stealing all the money from the hands of people hahah 6. No one is talking about the Model now huh? I feel like the model was just hated because everyone was using it (I play mostly Light and I still don't mind if the model doesn't receive nerfs), and is happening again with the pike. If people don't really sit and think about the things they're asking for, when they implement those things the game will become boring and stale.

A disclaimer that I'm a middle-elo player, but I think that mostly the game is pretty well balanced currently except for the pike. I also think that the defib should revive with full health BUT you can take damage while in the revive animation thing, and maybe also slow reviving revives with 70-80% health. I believe that these changes will encourage more safe revives instead of rushing out into battle to get a revive with no cover and then dying. My main gripe with reviving is that if you're late to kill the person reviving even by the tiniest millisecond then you have to deal with a whole extra player with either full or half health when you may already be low health from fighting the first player and then you die, even though you won your 1v1. The CL-40 is a little annoying that it nearly requires you to kind of change your playstyle and gadgets around them, but I do suppose that is part of the game and you have to remember the teams you fight and who progresses with you. I also think that the 30% plug cash should be awarded after a delay (e.g. 30% of cashout awarded after 30% of timer) instead of immediately, discouraging lights from running off with the cashout and abandoning their teams, and also the same problem of being 0.1s late and then losing out on a large amount of money even if you immediately kill the person who plugged it. This would also encourage varied fights instead of just attacking whichever cashout is further ahead and also defending the cashout that you plugged. (note 27:05. even though you were there and ready, and there was only one light with the vault, if he hit that throw into the cashout you guys would have missed out on $7000) Also, while being effective in cashout, the healing beam is absolutely destroyed in power shift. I think that it should heal much less hp/s if the player being healed has taken damage within the last second or so, similar to TF2. This would encourage the healing beam to be more about resetting health quickly between engagements instead of just turning a player into more of a tank mid fight. I think healers should be more encouraged to actually fight during fights instead of just healing. This would also encourage multi-medium teams to vary their specs as having multiple healing beams on the same team would not be as effective, but having one on the team would still be very useful. Also I have definitely been experiencing the wacky spawns, from both sides of it. Been having spawns on top of teams, right below cashouts, across the map from anything useful, really stupid stuff.

Hi Appoh, I've played the game since cb1 and manged to reach diamond 4 different times, as well as some mid-season t500 placements in s2. I don't claim to be a player of your level, but I think I know a little bit about what I'm talking about. I just want to give you some of my thoughts on balancing. Also, I agree with every point you made in this video, and thought it was nice to see someone calling out the quick cash/power shift mains on reddit. I think the glitch grenade can be a powerful balancing tool to keep the other classes in check while not giving light any direct lethality, and it's a shame that it was essentially reworked to be a direct counter to dome/mesh shield. I call it a "rework" rather than a buff because while impact on shields were nice, we also saw the length of the glitch effect reduced to half of what it originally was (10s > 5s). Now we get a much smaller and unreliable window of opportunity to act on a glitched squad, but hey! At least now we can directly counter abilities that have been heavily nerfed and no longer pose as big a threat as they did in s1/s2. Buffing glitch grenades to allow for more disruption of enemy abilities would help to keep powerful utility in check without nerfing them directly, give people a reason to want a light on their team, and doesn't increase light's lethality as much, which is the main pain point you see from the casual player base. We may even see the APS come back. Here are some ideas I have: - Reducing the fuse timer back to whatever it was in beta - Letting Glitch Grenade cancel in-progress defibs - Impact...? I honestly just wish Embark would look at light more as a "counter/disruption/intel" class rather than the "fast & sneaky assassin" class. as a final note im just gonna start listing random changes i'd love to see lol - nerf 1887 range, i understand the range is a part of it's identity though, so if not, a dmg or rof nerf would be cool. rof nerf would have to be big enough though. - pike - i hate the grenade launcher - i hate the grenade launcher - i hate the grenade launcher - just do something with defib and ill never complain again i swear...

I’ve been commenting exactly the same thing you just covered from day 1 on Season 4 and everyone says I’m wrong. Looks like I’m right now. This is the worst Meta. 2 classes have been nerfed hard and Medium has the best gun introduced into the game since FCar prenerf. Literally there is no way to combat the Pike. Defib is still super cheap. But hey, nerf mesh shield and RPG’s more. Nerf cloak and needlessy nerf the XP-54 damage (not the range?) So stupid. Fanboys are screaming how it’s so balanced. Yet it’s just Medium 3 stacks, really good balancing…. At least before it was 2 classes in the Meta, not one.

I personally wish that Embark would pick a fucking lane for what class identity Mediums should be. If we are gonna be the support character, why do we suddenly have good guns for all ranges and basically no counter play? If we are gonna be the healer, then why do we now also have cracked mobility? Not that the second statement hasn’t been the case for like the entire game’s history, but I still will never get why they made light the scout class when they are obviously the movement class. Give light the zip line and jump pad and give medium’s the sonar and sonar dart. I think this would create a lot more viability for light at higher levels since they could run things like dash with zip line and jump pad and then also have some destructive abilities too.

Adjust Pike a little bit and switch the defib to a specialization instead of a gadget. Having to choose between a healing beam or a defib will balance the medium's util. Could also switch dematerializer to a gadget if need be. Having the best util, some of the best weapons, and insane mobility with jump pad/zip all in one loadout makes zero sense.

You use that time to lay bullets into them. The scenario is all in a vacuum ofc, but that's pretty much the idea/mentality.

I feel like the only reason medium is considered good is because no other class has as good healing or movement. If other options for healing were added the healing beam wouldn't be as mandatory and if other movement items were available then jump pad and zip line wouldn't be needed either. To me, nothing needs to be needed on medium, the only thing that makes medium meta is the fact that it's the only one with these options, specifically when it comes to healing

My two cents regarding the amount of people that say that light is op is that while they are incorrect, they are misdiagnosing a real problem. Like you said, light IS annoying, and the devs should look at ways to shift the lights power and identity away from cheesy shit like stun gun and instead to things like their mobility and utility. (Defib on light?) One of the changes i think would be interesting is making it so only lights can get through the small wall holes near the floor. Regarding heavy I really do think that a lot of the perceived power of mesh is only actually there when you play with a heal medium. The ability to juggle shield hp, health, and heal beam is what took the mesh from “strong in a 1v1” to “mandatory in a 3v3”

This is the problem ive seen with embark and the finals. They dont know how to balance the game adequately. Last season it was the lights who controlled the arena, this season its the mediums. It just always feels like there is a meta to jump on instead of allowing any build the freedom to shine. I don't know who in the world thought giving a medium a DMR was a good idea. The sniper was already a pain in the butt, now i gotta worry about whether or not ill make it across the street before i get wiped 100 yards out. And like stated in the video, all you go up against is 3 mediums running around like it fortnite and jump shotting the CL40, healing and rezzing each other like crazy. Its insane. How can you possible imagine newcomers would want to play this game when thats what they have to deal with. They'd never find their groove in the game.

Second comment. Spawns being dumb is interesting. I wish they would just let the teams vote where to spawn when wiped or coining. Enemies being near the spot being irrelevant. Keep the action flowing. Maybe just a rule that you cannot spawn near a cashout your team was trying to steal when you got wiped.
