'Inhumans (TV Series 2017)' Medusa - All Scenes Powers & Abilities Medusalith "Medusa" Amaquelin is the wife of Black Bolt, sister of Crystal, and the Queen of the Inhumans. Portrayed by: Serinda Swan
Medusa’s hair is so strong she can use it like stilts. She can parkour across buildings with it, expand it around her to block bullets. She can stab it through flesh and metal alike. The hair is supposed to be massive like insanely massive when she’s in a serious fight, massive enough to dwarf her enemies and overpower dozens at once. This Medusa had the potential to do things like that but… well it’s just that, potential, nothing more
Her hair is awesome. In my opinion they should have done a scene in the final part where her hair grows back. They didn’t have to do some power use, just show that it grew back. Just cutting it and leaving like it is a mistake.
i think her hair was done well tbh they should've just shown more of its potential in fight scenes. cutting it off made no sense though because in the comics it was described to be stronger than iron and even if it wasn't she has the ability to grow/shorten it so if it got chopped off just grow that bitch back. i would've also wanted it to be longer like go almost to her feet.
You know that was just about budget concerns right? What bothers me is why would they do a show they know they didn't have a full budget for? I'm pretty sure the hair feats are costly.
@@prof32 yeah thats what im saying due to a low budget they had to chop off her hair which made no sense. so yeah i agree that it makes no sense to do a show this big with a low budget. However, I think the few times we see her hair it wasn't that bad.
Daniel Kent also hair animation is too complicated and expensive and takes a lot of time to do. Considering their budget is low for this show. Medusa’s hair is only one concerned of the many inhimans that probs would require more animations or cgi.
@@turtle9939 They did it because of budget constraints. That seems fairly obvious. What is bothersome about it is why even produce a show you know you don't have the budget for and think the solution is cutting off Medusa's hair?
@@MurIocMage Well, first of all, they could've made her take on multiple ppl at once. Not just hace them come at her in a straight line and having her punch them one by one. She also could've looked a bit more invested in the fight. Not just standing there as if the hair was another character doing all the work. I mean, I can understnd there being budget limitations, but if you're going to give her only ONE scene to show off, then at least do it right.
the movie scenes are really great i mean how and from where such innovative ideas develop just love it but honestly with all the watching i never get tired thanks for the video and a lot of love from planet ayurveda
2:00 The fight scene could've been better if she was to at least move around or act like she was "commanding" the hair with motions... But they ruined it
You know that scene in Aquaman where Mera realizes she's in a room full of wine and suddenly there's a hundred tendrils of wine shooting out towards the guys attacking her? That's what the Medusa fight scene should look like... only with hair instead of wine.
Yep And her hair should be big long and the key part of her This shows design for her was ass I hated the dress, her hair wasn’t even down to her feet and I dont like the casting. If the inhumans ever go into the mcu they need to spend some time on her cuz her character is soo worth it
Israelites poseidon-Mize The effects don’t even look that bad for a tv series budget, but it wasn’t long enough, it had no texture to it, and they just did nothing with it. She punched a guy and picked up an Apple Watch......epic?
They did cut it off to save on FX budget. In the comics Medusa's hair CAN be cut, but only if she allows it to be. Jae Lee's Inhumans, she allows Maximus to cut off her hair, so she can remotely control the strands to sneak into his machine and destroy it while he thought he had defeated her, etc.
Rules of bad guys in movies: 1. You can't shoot accurately unless the good guy is behind cover or using another bad guy as a human shield 2. Bad guys always have 1 HP. Any punch or touch and they are dead/downed immediately. 3. Good guys always have infinite health and can fall off buildings, get shot multiple times, get thrown through walls and still be just fine. 4. Good guys don't normally bleed unless they get punched in the face. Feel free to add to the list.
5. If someone has a knife in a fight, the guy with the knife will lose, unless the other guys has a stronger weapon (e.g., gun). 6. If one of the fighters is a woman, she beats the other fighter. 7. In a fight of many against one, one beats many.
They should've got an exceptionally beautiful ho at least. This one's fugly!!! Edit: looking back at this (one month later), SHE'S SOO FRIGGING FUGGLY!!!
@@chwiffon 🤔 Right!??? The train wreck is overwhelming (°~•) According to classic mythology, Medusa was the personification of beauty. She was the youngest and most beautiful of three virgin sisters. Even the gods were jealous of her or desired her. This woman here needs a lot of Photoshopping, besides being too old. Her body isn't sculpted and lacks definition. In the end, a high-end animation may have been best
2:25 guys i think this is where she lost her power (or got deactivated), as in at this moment that’s no longer her stronger than iron hair, its just really long hair, since she couldn’t move a strand of hair after that
It would have been really great if she had some combat scenes. Not only would it have looked awesome, but it would have added to her hair abilities. She needed better hair makeup and costumes. She is a QUEEN!!!
Actually her power was the most interesting to me and what i was excited the most but after seeing her hair was cut, i was like "ok i'm done with this show".
Medusa’s hair is supposed to be stronger, and in the comics she can grow her hair back easily. Also, this hair looks less convincing than a wig that was put on badly.
Personally I think it wasn't weird until the fight scene. I think they did well in the first scene especially. They set up that her hair's flexible and careful enough to grasp and move objects, and a few strands were enough to restrain Blackbolt, who has superhuman strength and was clearly pushing against the strands. Of course, this made the fight scene a bit worse off, as you'd think if a few strands can restrain someone, surely whole chunks ought to be able to smash bones and go right through concrete. Some parts, like when she grabbed his arm (2:08) were good, but the part where she sends the first two flying is kind of awkward, personally I feel like she should have been moving around a bit more, rather than just standing still, and they should have had the hair grow longer.
I think it's extremely hard not to make a hair super power not look cheesy and it's probably the best they could do, certainly for the budget of a TV series.
Medusa's supposedly powerful hair comes right off with just a 'human' razor, and zero resistance, when we've seen her hair do its thing just once? Bald Medusa is just NOT working.
It's funny, Serinda Swan portraying the Marvel character Medusa, portrayed the DC character Zatanna Zatara on "Smallville". That classic DC/Marvel switch or vice versa, that happens so often.
Essa medusa , se cair nas " telinhas", vai ser uma TRAGÉDIA, pensei que fosse a medusa REAL da FÚRIA DE TITÃS. Falo isso como crítico de games e filmes , Doa a quem doer.
what an apathetic fight scene. Neither the bad guys, nor the locks of hair seem to want to fight ... it's worthy of a star trek first generation fight ...
I'm real late but like, personally the length of the hair and even how it looked wasn't the issue to me. My issue was the fact they got rid of it so early and it was never regained. I finished the show expecting there to be a scene where something happens and her hair grows back but it never happens. I liked the idea of seeing Medusa's reaction to having her hair cut but honestly even that isn't shown much beyond the surface of emotions. How epic could it have been if she had overcome everything, prove she could carry on without her hair, just to regain it toward the end and kick ass with her personal strength AND abilities. I dunno... I think the actress it pretty and while the movements and cgi with the wig weren't the best by any means it's thw writing that really got to me.
If some people might think why couldn't Mudusa fight with her hair when her hands were tied, I have a theory, the guy who used his power to knock her down might've gotten rid of her ability, if she gets it back, well, we have to just watch to find out
I love that Serj da swan has aged so much because she’s one of those actresses I can take seriously as before I couldn’t. I love that she doesn’t care she has aged at all!
Yes, Medusa is one of the main kick-ass characters, so when they cut her hair--then had her hair grow back slowly. That was what instantly showed that the show did not have the budget, nor the backing by "Disney," that this high concept television show needed and deserved. Example, this is one of the main reasons that "Disney," is having so much trouble with its television shows. "Inhumans," had a really great / talented cast with Serinda Swan as Medusa, (Note: Serinda Swan played a spectacular Zatanna in the "Smallville," series, and was really sexy / alluring in that. Serinda was also quite cool as Zatanna and had the character down pat.), which was a major plus for the show, so when they crippled the show with an insufficient budget they should have given the show the extra money and the impact would have made the show stand out on Friday nights. So, if your show has a character, or characters with really incredible powers and you take them away, (Medusas hair is supposed to grow back ultra fast which keeps her from having such a terrible flaw and vulnerability.), then don't do the show. Besides, how many people like Medusa, or Serinda Swan with short hair? Both Serinda and Medusa look so much better with the longer hair look.
