Meek Mill Producer Makes a Beat ON THE SPOT. In this 'On The Spot Sessions' episode we feature New Jersey hip hop producer and engineer @HellfireBeats (Meek Mill, EA-Ski, AG of DITC, General Steele of Smif n Wessun) who uses Akai MPC Touch to create a classic smooth east coast boom bap beat for Jersey emcee @DreSkuffs to have a lil fun with. We were able to capture all of this live on the spot. Recording session took place at Hellfire Studios in New Jersey and filmed by @El_Ybi. Wow! Big difference on Dre's voice talking live vs mastered. How did they get that vocal effect? Just EQ the hell outta the high and low end both? Then maybe double the track with a little lag on one, just enough to fill it out some and make it fuller? Any help on that?

turn up your high end, but not too sharp. use a " De s er" (gets rid of the sharp s noise) fuck with the threshhold on your compressor. add delay and reverb if you want to add filler noise. i gave you a few basics, but im no pro. if you wanna hear my mix though soundcloud.com/kilarg0/dove its not too good tbh but much better than it used to be

I know plenty of cats playin they stuff just like that live on the mpc, you don't have to sample, ain't no real work goin in some already made samples and then lay some drums EAZY!! The musician actually did get paid being that he's selling these samples to producers for THIS purpose. And plenty of musicians do both sample-based beats as well as non-sample-based. All depends on what mood you're in. Either way it's fun and when the finished product is hot, your listener ain't gonna give a shit where the music came from.

+Hellfire Beats Did he actually play that piano part or sample it cause there is a huge difference, if he just went through some records and found something he ain't did that ain't nutn sorry, but if he played them keys he dope. You ain't no musician sampling from records, I just watched a guy go through some samples with a mouse assign them to a track and start bopping his head like he did it!!! What is a sample pack that's whack!! I like the HIPHOP producers that make tracks from scratch maybe a little help from a sample but more original🎹🎶👍🏿

Ernest Enoch He actually composed them. The sample pack is called Boonie Tunes which he sells and makes money from. Look him up, Boonie Mayfield aka Boon Doc, who actually also happens to be a very dope sample based producer in addition to playing keys, guitar, and drums. Being a musician ain't just about playing an instrument. If that's the only way you view music then that's going to hold you back as a musician. Many of your favorite records use samples. And even non sample based music draws inspiration from something else. I see a lot you dudes talking about how easy it is to make a sample beat but you can't do it! Stop wasting your time trying to discredit what you don't do and just make some good music. And please stop assuming that sample based producers only know how to sample. Many of us do actually know how to make non sample based beats as well. Just enjoy the music bro!
