We react to the story of Saint MeeraBai - a Rajput Princess and Devotee of Lord Krishna - by the RU-vid Channel The Hindu Saga. We love learning about Hindu Saints of India. Female Saints bring in a different quality of being and the Divine Feminine will not only enrich but make this channel more complete.
Much of what we know about Meerabai comes from her poetry. Her poetry expresses the longing and seeking of her soul for union with Sri Krishna. At times, she expresses the pain of separation and at other times the ecstasy of divine union. Her devotional poems were designed to be sung as bhajans, and many are still sung today. It is said in her death she miraculously disappeared by merging into an idol of Krishna.
Born in the early 15th century, Meerabai was a Krishna devotee of the highest order. She was unaffected by the criticism and suffering of the world. She was born a princess but gave up the pleasures of palace for begging on the streets of Vrindavan.
Meera Bai was a Rajput princess and the only child of Ratan Singh who was the younger brother to the ruler of Merta, one of the prosperous kingdoms of Rajasthan.
