When you mention the zone age, are you talking Texas 8A or are you talking Pacific Northwest zone eight. Really struggling in Texas for things that are beautiful. I know we have our Texas natives but every once in a while you have some really terrific things and I just can’t find them here in Texas.
I always start a new batch of zinnias and cosmos in midsummer to bloom in the fall. I love Rubenza Cosmos and Aztec, Giant Wine, Sungod and Inca zinnias. My favorites are my perennial mums (Clara Curtis, Brandywine, Peaches & Cream, Campfire) and asters of all varieties. I also grow several varieties of coleus that I use as replacement plants in the fall. My garden is more colorful right now than it has been all summer and looks much less tired thanks to the cooler temps.
My Zinnias didn't perform too well, but I take a look today and it seems to rejuvenate, also have a white aster, dahlias, and Sylvia in bloom along with mums, first time I ever had so many things blooming in falls, also I almost forgot the Montauk daisy it is in bloom also
