Once a woman brings a child into the world, her life is never truly her own anymore. Getting that call that your child may be sick or injured at any hour of the day or night must bring countless sleepless nights😔 I’m so glad her son is doing better and maybe she can catch up on some of that sleep 🙏👍

Strokes are worse than heart attacks. A stroke is basically a "brain attack." Your heart is a motor. But your brain is a complex computer. It's much easier to fix an engine (not cheaper, but easier), than a corrupted harddrive.

As OTRs, we know that the sensory deficits from the stroke are also contributing to their slow recovery. I am thrilled with this possibility, since constraint therapy doesn't work for everyone. This replaces some of the lost neuromotor message from brain to limb. It is a wonderful advancement. You are totally correct about the bike grip. But my guess is that he goes to a clinic that doesn't attempt to address his home or recreation concerns. A lost opportunity to show how helpful OT can be, IMHO.

I recently found the 60 min story of a stroke patient that was treated by a controversial drug treatment, maybe you too have seen it, if not, might be worth checking it out. Anyway i found it remarkable and astonished how the community and the general consensus of the treatment of stroke patients, was like, 'this is how your life will be from now on and you will only see small improvement, it will take a long time, etc..etc.. So when i found this about INR, that seemed to have a lot of success, i started to wonder, maybe this controversial treatment by INR is a scam or bluff, but i so wish that people could step out and call it out. When checking around i hear that from / negative stuff from a lot of neurological doctors (not all though), but normal hard working people said different things instead so i wondered is this too good to be true, well seems like a lot of the treated patients thought so too... But check it out if you havnt, 60 minutes, australian documentary, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_Yaaa-5NAX4.html&ab_channel=InstituteofNeurologicalRecovery And here's a longer version, focusing on the teacher. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-F_n2ouMEivE.html&ab_channel=InstituteofNeurologicalRecovery And there is a ton of videos from not only stroke treatments but other cases as well. When i did some research i noticed even that the medicine used is well known for treating rheumatoid arthritisand inflammatory conditions, just seems that this doctor at INR found out that it worked on stroke victims as well. Anyway, i understod quite early that this on no wonder medicine, but as one patient mentioned, getting rid of the pain was his main hope, anything else was just 'extra' and did he get a lot of extras too :)

Again "at last" I say someone approaching brain injury by trying to fix the brain not just dishing out pills and strapping bits of plastic to us. C'mon governments more support NOW. These pioneering physicians/surgeons or from my standpoint 'visionaries' need all the support, financial backing or just basically anything they need to continue thier work. Stop funding wars and lining your own pockets and actually do some good.
